The coffee is excellent, the atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is always welcoming and accommodating. I applaud you for offering a gluten free choice in baked goods, but I would like to make a constructive suggestion. Would it be possible to have gluten free separated from the rest of the baked goods? I only ask because I ordered a gluten free scone at your North location and found out the hard way a few hours later that I was given one with gluten. A total delight of a coffee shop in downtown Appleton but it's so much more than just caffeine. Copper Rock has terrific food, pastries, and desserts served all day long. This location is HUGE with ample seating and an inviting atmosphere that begs you to linger and enjoy the large food menu. I've visited for breakfast a few times and have enjoyed the generous sized and tasty breakfast sandwiches. It's hard not to love this place. Great location if you're staying downtown Appleton. It's within a block of the 2 main downtown hotels. This place checks all the boxes. To start with it's a great atmosphere with red brick interior walls, ample seating in the main room, plus there's a 2nd room that's large as well. Good music was playing at just the right volume. Impressive Ethiopian coffee. Had a breakfast sandwich that may be the best I've ever had from a coffee shop. Plus, it was very filling - 2 slices of turkey & 2 slices of cheese. Staff were very friendly & attentive. They were fairly busy, but only took a few minutes to get my coffee & sandwich. I'll be sure to return on my next trip to Appleton. read more

The vibe in here is great and the coffee even better. Visiting from out of town and searched yelp for the best place to get a good cup of coffee. SO GLAD THEY DONT USE MONIN SYRUP!! The coffee was amazing. Ordered a cup to enjoy while we ate our breakfast sandwiches and then ordered another to take back to the hotel to watch the World Cup game. (USA lost :( ) The breakfast sandwich was good.. not great.. but good. The egg was well cooked, good amount of cheese and the bacon was really good. However, it seems that they toasted the croissant or something as it was super crispy and very dry. I had to pick the sandwich apart yo finish it. Food was fine... burrito quite small for price, but turkey breakfast sandwich better. My issue however, is the automatically added tip on mobile order where I'm picking up and not dining in. If I want to tip, I will. Auto adding it... shady. If I ever decide to try this place again it definitely won't be via mobile order. The service was promt and friendly as well as just all around inviting. I loved how homely and cozy the shop felt. While still having that industrial feel that seems to keep through in any big citys. Copper Rock has always been close to my heart because it's where I met my wife! So right off the bat it's a great place to meet and converse with friends over some great coffee, pastries, and food. I can't say that I'm very adventurous. I always get the Houdini or the Pesto Panini. I've had them both numerous times and it's delicious every time. Even though I haven't tried a lot on the menu. I recommend this place to everybody. Everything about it is very warm and inviting. read more

My boyfriend went here for lunch and also wanted to bring me some food at home. He ordered me the Turkey Avocado sandwich and a lotus energy drink. He specifically asked them to add no ice to the drink because he was taking it to me a couple hours later, and asked that they make my sandwich later. When they gave him his food, they brought out my drink with ice in it and gave him my sandwich right away. When he finally brought it home, it was the Turkey sandwich, with no red onions or avocado which is the best part and the only reason I ordered it. He said he knew he ordered the turkey avocado because he pulled the image up on his phone and when ordering it he said avocado funny. He also noted that the cashier was not very friendly, so luckily he didn't leave a tip. Also, when he asked to switch out his chips for a different flavor (they have unopened bags of chips on a rack next to the register) they said "we'd prefer if you didn't." Finally, this is unrelated but I've said it before on my review, their espresso drinks are never the correct temperature. read more

Good expresso drinks and great food. The veggie quiche I had was outstanding. The "hang there and work" environment is just so so. Lots of tables but limited outlets to plug your PC in (I didn't see any at the available tables.) There is a second large meeting room that can accommodate a bigger group but it did not look inviting with one end piled up with storage stuff. read more

I love the decor and ambiance, it's a lovely larger cafe. I find the hours kind of odd. In a college town walking distance from campus this would be a good place to hang out and kill some time on a Sunday evening, but they close at 5pm. That makes them the latest open coffee shop downtown, which doesn't make sense to me. Coffee and pastries are good, service is a bit slow but friendly. Stopped in Saturday for brunch. Walking in I noticed how large this space is. They have physical menu's for food and drink menu's on the wall by the cashier. I got a chai tea, pumpkin soup and veggie hummus wrap (half of one). My only confusion was I did not know I was supposed to tell them I was dining in so my food came packed to go. This made me feel a bit unwelcome to stay and eat but I did anyway. I love that pumpkin soup it maybe the best I have ever had. Rich and with a good seasoning it had little chunks of other veggies in it. The carrot in it I liked a lot. The hummus wrap was also rather delightful. It had a ton of roasted red pepper hummus.
