We paid in full for a pool table and selected our felt color in November 2025. Over a month later, while they were on the way for installation, they called to say they didn't have everything we had ordered. They completed only a partial installation. Since December 2025, I've repeatedly scheduled appointments for them to finish the job, but they have continually failed to show up. The most recent appointment was in July 2026, and once again they didn't show up, didn't call, and haven't responded to any of my messages. I would strongly advise against paying this company in full upfront. Very disappointed with the service, opened my pool yesterday, basically took the cover off left it in my yard, installed 3-4 plugs turned the system on and left, I could have done that myself, we thought we were getting the pool cover folded up and put in the bag, thought the system would get blown out, nope never even unwound the hose, also they would put some salt in nothing, trying to figure out what the $448 dollars covers, never again will we have them read more

What a terrible experience. We bought the pool April 11th which we were told was in the warehouse. One month later some of the pool was delivered. It took weeks for the rest to be delivered. When the installers came, right off the bat we had parts missing. We called the Wausau pool people and felt dismissed. Eight days late we contacted the owner and the missing parts were never ordered and the emails were rude as if it was our fault the parts were missing. It took almost another 2 weeks for the missing parts to come. We however love the Tidal Wave Pools installers. They were so professional and kind. They went above and beyond to pick up the missing parts for us. read more

It's Saturday evening 12/3/2022 and I'm beyond upset. Was communicating with Hunter about a basement bar. Told me I could have the display that was just a little dusty. I traveled 1.45 minutes to pick this bar up. When we get there it was damaged and scratched etc. Was dealing with another sales person that has no customer service skills. We bought a pool from Juniper Pools in March 2022 and it was delivered to our house in early April (because they "did not have room to store it"). Since the pool needed to be kept indoors, we had to keep my husband's truck outside for the duration. One of the reasons we purchased from Juniper was that they coordinated the installation. We were promised installation in early June. At the end of May, I called about the upcoming installation date. They were unable to give me an estimated date. This was the beginning of a bi-weekly call/e-mail to Juniper asking for status. On the rare occasion they responded to my inquiry, they were never able to give me an estimated date. In a call on Wednesday June 29, I pointed out that I was not trying to move ahead of anyone but just wanted to know where I was on "the list". They responded they they did not have a list (WHAT???!!!) but were sitting down to make one that evening and I would be contacted the next day. No surprise that I didn't get a call or e-mail. It seems pretty basic to keep a list of pools sold, in the order they were sold, and expected installation date. If they haven't heard of Excel, a yellow legal pad could serve the purpose! On Friday July 1, I went into the store and talked to the manager. She said they were still working on pool purchases from 2021 with one of their contracted crews and on pool purchases from 2022 with another crew. She promised to call me by end of day with the status of our installation. Can you guess what happened? On July 6, I received this e-mail (not from the manager): (Sic) Sorry for the late response, I was trying to get answers along with time off. The two teams we had to do installs is at one for the year because the other one is still doing pool sold from last year. That is putting all pools on one installer, which is backing things up. We have a new team starting next week which should help get pools moving much quicker. I do not have a date for you as I don't want to assume the new team will get going right away. My best guess would be end of July. If you want to find another installer, that is totally okay and we will refund you for the installation. When I get more information on your date, I will you right away. Remember one of the reasons we bought from Juniper was "hassle free installation". Until then, I had no idea that a refund of the installation was even an option. Clearly, they were eager to get rid of this annoying customer since they made their profit on the sale of the pool. So yes, I found an installer with a good reputation (who, by the way, provided far more information about the pool installation process than we ever got from Juniper). I went back to the store and was surprisingly given my money back on the spot. I was not given a single word of apology. This was truly the worst customer service experience of my life. Ironically, they just e-mailed me to try to sell me a hot tub. I'm still laughing. read more

The absolute worst customer service we have EVER encountered!!! we bought the pool at the end of March 2022. We're told it would the end of May for install. Mid May they said it would now be June and that they had to store our pool at our property to get it out of their warehouse!!! What in the actual....We were constantly calling because no one would return our calls. When someone finally answered they kept pushing back our date and giving excuses about the install. In August we were told to stop complaining because we can still swim in September!!! When it finally was installed they claimed it didn't fit well with our old pool which was literally the same size! so now we need an entire new deck to fit the pool. They never gave us an option of a pool liner upgrade either. We just assumed it would be a nice one or the same as our previous one based off the price. This one is so thin!!! It looks absolutely hideous already with stains! We also kept calling because it leaked from the time they put it up. We called constantly and the manager told us that's impossible because he is the one who installed it. He literally was arguing with us because we were waiting to pay the final amount until it was done right!!! My husband eventually gave in and we paid. However, the pool is a piece of crap and still leaking!! We are on our 4th attempt to try and repair and stop a leak that should have never been an issue to begin with!!! Seriously unbelievable what we spent to not have it work!!! Utterly disgusted with how we were treated and talked down to. And told that it was installed properly when in fact we have multiple receipts buying things to try and do it ourselves to no avail!! We will never recommend this place to anyone and will tell everyone who will listen about our story. Many walked through it with us so they know the frustration this has been. Stay away!!! read more

Terrible experience. We called to have them come out and set up our hot tub. They said they "do not have the people for that" despite our willingness to pay. Then we asked for simple advice on what size filter we need. The gentleman told us and we purchased that kind. Two of them actually. It was the wrong size. We have delt with this company for several years and this is the first time we have had a problem. The problem stems from a lightening hit that knocked out the circuit board which has been on order for almost 2 months. When it happened it took 3 weeks just to get a technician out to tell us it needed this board. The hot tub is a Four Seasons Hot tub and they do not respond to any communication and Doug at Pool People say they are hard to get hold of. We feel that Four Seasons must be going out of business and have terrible customer relations. We would like this problem to be resolved. We need an answer read more

I bought a dart board from Doug at the this location . When we went to play darts it doesn't score . I called the Store they said they'd come out and fix it . No one came when I called to see if someone just didn't write down appointment Doug told me that I'd have to call another company to get it replaced . I find this not good business . I told him no one has even played darts one time yet as you installed it and it doesn't work . I bought it from you and it doesn't work He didn't care. We were looking at hot tubs. Doug was very knowledgeable about the differences in hot tubs. He listened, answered all our questions and was very pleasant. After purchasing a hot tub we had issues with the filter. A technician came over and replaced the housing for the filter with no issues. If ever we have questions about upkeep Doug patiently goes over the steps so our tub works well. We enjoy our tub and I love the therapeutic benefits! I recommend The Pool People in Rhinelander for quality equipment, helpful staff and effective maintenance and repairs. read more

This is my first review I have ever done on a business and I'm saddened that it has to be so negative. Usually if I have bad business I just ignore it and move on, but this experience was the absolute worst. Also, I am aware that the pandemic did cause some delays, but the service we have received is inexcusable. We went to PP in Oct. '20 to order a hottub. We had a hot tub picked out at another store, but wanted to look around. At PP, they already had 2 hot tubs on order so we bought one of them bc it was what we were looking for and the delivery date would be sooner then the other stores. We placed money down to claim it and were told we would receive the hot tub in Dec. some time. Come Dec we called PP and they denied that they told us that we would get it in December and said it was going to be here in Feb. So, come February they said it still wasn't ready and that it would be April. The sauna we bought with the hot tub was in at this point, and I asked if that could be delivered so we could enjoy it for winter; they said they would get back to us but never did and at that point we were just upset and gave up. So now it's April and our hot tub has finally arrived at the store, so we sent a check to pay for the last half of balance so it would be delivered. Mind you, when we talked on the phone about delivery dates, they told us we could pay with a check and it would be delivered by the mutually agreed upon deliver date. Then they called me the Tuesday before delivery date and said they were going to move our delivery date since we paid with check and it would take 10 days for the check to clear before they could deliver us our tub. They never told us on the phone that if we pay with a check that this was a policy; if we would have known that we would have just paid with a credit card. Then they called me again after I explained that I was upset about the whole situation, and said nevermind we will deliver your tub by the scheduled date, so I am not really sure what changed. As excited as we are to have a new hot tub and sauna, we will not be doing service with this company ever again. I have my fingers crossed that the delivery process will go smoothly, but at this rate I would not be surprised if the tub/sauna shows up broken, not the right one, missing paid for items, etc. The company has also not made any effort to offer a discount or anything for the troubles we have experienced. I'm sure people have had good experiences with the company based on other reviews, but it's unfortunate and disappointing that we did not have that experience and it ruined the entire buying process for us-- the whole time we felt like we were just being scammed. Hopefully others will read this review before they begin looking for tubs/ saunas for their enjoyment. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service! If I could give 0 stars would. I bought a $4500 pool from the Stevens Point store, they promised me the world. I also paid $1700 extra for installation. The $500 sand filter has been leaking for a month now, they were supposed to replace it which took weeks to get back to me and nobody showed up on scheduled date for repair . These guys deserve a minus five. I had my hot tub freeze up last winter. I contacted Pool People for an estimate to repair. They stated that it would cost $215 to have someone give me a quote. I needed it for the insurance company so I agreed and scheduled. They charged my card the day I made the appointment. The service tech missed the scheduled appointment. I didn't receive a call. I had to call them several days later and scheduled another appointment. Strike one. Lind story short I received a had scratched note which was emailed to my insurance company and me. It was missing details, such as estimated hours, cost, etc. the insurance company asked them for clarification and a quote to replace as Pool People deemed it totaled. Over the course of 3 months I have contacted Pool People no less then 25 times to resolve this, mind you I paid for a quote. I have talked to half a dozen of their staff including the owner. Still unresolved. I'm purchasing through another company. If you are considering a purchase from the Pool People, don't waste your time. They have lost a $10k sale. read more
