I went in and asked them if they had a hand truck I could borrow? The answer was no. I asked if anyone could help me get it out of my car? The answer was no. Unfriendly man said I could park on the side of the building (compromise!) and bring it in that way. I thanked him profusely and while I was leaving he shouted at me, "BUT JUST THIS ONCE! ONLY THIS ONE TIME!" Ohmygosh, thanks for that amazing customer service. Don't worry I won't come back with anything heavy! You want rude and indifferent postal employees - please drive 7 miles south to the Post Office on W John St in Hicksville, wait 12-15 minutes in line and then deal with someone who just hates everything. What she missed out on: 1) A great location with dozens of parking spots( rare on Long Island - just try parking at the New Hyde Park, Hicksville, Levittown or Syosset Post offices). 2) Amazing staff that bend over backwards, know your name, work with you when you travel regarding holding mail and get through that line in less than a minute. Huge props and kudos to Raj who is a gem- solid, professional, polite, calm( I have seen a crazy Old Brookville entitled resident ream him out for taking too long with an elderly gentleman who was having a hard time counting his money & coins and was moving slowly) . Raj just smiled and continued. Humanity, Love and Care are very much alive and here to stay in the Glen Head Post Office. They always have PENS at the end of those strings on each table. There is enough room to stand, spread your stuff and write. 4) I have seen how efficient they are with the Passport appointment and explaining everything. 5) The USPS rates and fees are standard and the same everywhere. I do appreciate the fact that they have the flat rate boxes in different sizes - I have sent many care packages and shirts n souvenirs to my grandkids and family in California for 25 years. She's very abrupt and very rude at times, basically makes you feel belittled. With every move and gesture she makes it a huge favor to you that she's assisting you. I stopped going there because I couldn't take the attitude and the feeling that I'm being done a HUGE favor with her there. Very uneasy place to be in. Found another local spot where people greet you with a smile and are very attentive ! Oh and btw, they also say "thank you" and "have a good day" when you leave !!
