Each wheel class can fit up to 6 ppl (as there are 6 pottery wheels). The class that we partook in was full and we had some great banter w/ the other participants and the teacher during the session. James was our teacher and he's an absolute beast (also, the nicest, friendliest dude)! He gave us a demonstration first in slow motion on how to apply pressure to the clay and proper hand placement. It's A LOT HARDER than it looks lol. Once he finished demoing, he guided each of us through a piece that we wanted to make. I opted for things that were relatively simple as I found it hard enough to maintain equal thickness in the clay on all sides. We learned that James is 5th generation from a family of master potters. No wonder he's so good and made it look easy! My gf and I made 4 pieces total and I paid an additional $40 to keep the other 2 (as the initial prices for both of us only included 1 piece each for painting and baking). Two hours flew by so fast. About two weeks after the session, I received an email notifying me to book a time slot for painting our pieces. Painting occurs in a different room from the pottery wheel room. More spacious and you can go up and get your own paint. After painting them we waited another 2-3 weeks before receiving a final email that the pieces were ready for pickup. We were quite happy with how the pieces turned out. I love the glossy dark blue finish on my sake jar! Ultimately, even if you're not good at arts and crafts, this is a really fun activity! My gf had a lot of fun. Would highly recommend anyone try it at least once!

The class environment is great and the instructors are amazing! Thomas who taught my first course is so much fun and he clearly loves what he does. It's a bright and open space with lots of light, they provide everything required during the course and can help you create something specific if you had that in mind while taking the class. They also run many classes for children and the place is usually brimming with kids and laughter. It truly has a very positive vibe. They have new instructors who have recently joined for pottery and they too are equally supportive and great to learn from.

At the start, the instructor explained the process, but I noticed he mostly focused on a handful of people, so a few of us (including me) missed some details. We were given a clay like material to roll into a tube and a mold, which we did but then things got a little confusing. After shaping it, he took our rings, wrapped them around the mold, and handed them back. Apparently, we were supposed to carve and design them at that point, but this wasn't clearly communicated, so me and one other person just didn't do anything LOL Luckily, my ring still turned out nice (I wanted something simple anyway), so no complaints there! The place itself is great and worth checking out, but I'd suggest two small improvements: 1. Clearer instructions - Maybe double check that everyone's on the same page before moving forward. 2. Better supplies- They were running low on basics like tissues, cutlery, and plates, which would've made the experience smoother. Still a fun time -just needs a little fine tuning :)

Flash forward, both of us came back on Easter Sunday for an additional session to complete our work. Yvette wasn't working. It was a younger lady (who's name I forgot to ask). She was just as friendly as Yvette. I had booked the session online quite last minute (at around 2pm for a 3pm session) so she didn't have everything setup for us when we arrived but no worries. I'm happy I managed to salvage my horizon! **see my previous review** :) Just as Yvette had told me on our last visit, they only charged us the $6 studio fee for 2 ppl so $12 (no funny business). Our paintings turned out okay even without an instructor guiding us! After inspecting both of our paintings I noticed I like to use thicker, broader strokes and my gf uses thinner, more refined strokes. I'd definitely be open to coming back for canvas painting again or pottery perhaps in the future. Very fun!

The welcoming staff and teachers appear to be caring and competent. It is well organized and the enrollment / registration staff are responsive and attentive. For children's classes, all materials and supplies are included. My child really seems to enjoy the class and the teachers! For adults, materials lists are provided. There are classes in photography, painting, drawing, watercolor, etc for both beginners and more advanced students. So far a very positive experience. Highly recommended!

This isn't a professional school where respected people in the fields teach you so you can become artists. It's more like some skilled people give you knowledge on techniques to help you discover your new hobby. This isn't just school where they offer painting lessons but also available are photography, stage performance arts and so on and such. All instructors I've had are inspiring, caring and kind albeit their fake encouragements and rushed attitudes. They make sure everything is understood and help you develop artistic senses, and find areas where you can improve. What came off as disappointment is that they were not willing to engage in interesting discussions because they have to stick to schedule. Classes are very small but it is perfect for people who have school or work during daytime, and enrolment fees won't break the bank, so might as well take it lightly instead of a serious school where you learn to become artists. I took various painting and drawing classes and photography lessons, with which I am happy as I became knowledgable with those activities but there were some cancelled classes time to time. And sometimes classes are boring as not many people are enrolled and instructors would end early where he would not know what to do with remaining time.
