We texted beforehand to see if they had availability for potter painting today and made a reservation. When we arrived, we were quickly greeted, and a staff member explained the process. We got to pick out a piece to paint and there were a great variety of options! Pieces in different shapes and sizes from animals to more traditional dish ware and even fun holiday options. Each piece has a price listed on it as well which was nice to know before selecting an option. We picked matching cats to paint. We had a table reserved with our name on it and got some more directions once seated about tips on painting. The staff again was super friendly and helpful! After we got the intro, we painted away. There were a variety of tools, colors and staff helped us with any questions. Once we were done, we brought our pieces to the front and paid. Came here on a Tuesday night and it was almost empty so we were accommodated seamlessly. Their pottery selection was very large and I picked this heart shaped jewelry box which was $39. It took about two hours to paint. The employees were very nice and explained how it works since it was our first time here. Also, their bathroom has pads and tampons which is amazing and so considerate of their customers! If you are looking for a relaxing, creative, and fun time, then The Pottery Stop is your place. I went on a weekday, and the place was pretty busy. We called ahead, and a table was set with our name. When you walk in, you start by picking out your pre made pottery item off the shelves lining the walls. The prices are stated by each piece. There is a wide selection of plates, mugs, owls, trees,mermaids, and seasonal items to choose from. I settled on an antique truck with a Christmas tree on the back. Your table is equipped with several different colored paints, a palette card, paint brushes of various sizes, a bowl of water to clean the brushes, and lastly, a sponge. There is also a sample plate that shows an example of what the paint will look like in the end. We worked largely without instructions as the employee was busy. We were so focused on our project that we didn't notice the tables filling up around us. We also did not pick up our phones. When you're satisfied with your project, you take it to the register and pay for it. The pottery won't be able to be taken home the same day. You will receive a call or text in approximately 7 days saying your pottery is available to be picked up. This activity is for all ages. There were an equal number of children with their parents as there were adult groups. Unfortunately, I took off a star for the slight difficulty that I had finding the place, the venue being cluttered, and the employees being hard to distinguish from the patrons. Omg what a great PYO pottery shop!! This has been one of my favorite activities since I was a little kid. I'm so excited to have found such a quality shop near me. They had a nice assortment of pottery pieces and paint choices. I did a mushroom fairy house this time around, I love it! And can't wait to get it back. I plan on it being the first addition to my fairy garden. I want to go back to paint the castle and maybe the salsa dip dish. This is how the shop works. 1.) you walk into the store and you decide if you want to paint pottery, glass, handmade glass objects or hand-make Jewelry 2.) you create!!! 3.) you checkout. It's very simple and the staff is always there to help. They are eager and excited about what they do. I decided to paint pottery. On average, the objects range from 20 to 30$. There are no objects under the 20$ price range, unless you want to paint a miniature sized trinket/object... The staff explains everything to you. That way you know what you need to do. They make great suggestions and they also make sure you know about all your painting options. I recommend you paint at least three layers on your object of choice. That way the colors you pick look more vibrant. The lace application that you see in my first two yelp review photos are an additional 2$ charge. This place is super cute! My SO and I went on a Saturday evening. It was crowded but not too bad. A paint class started shortly after we arrived. I think I'll try that next! So there were some cute things to paint like mugs, bowls, plates, skulls, and I think I saw some Harry Potter stuff. There were a lot of colors and different size brushes and items to give your paint some texture. Our items were ready the following Saturday. Of course we started with ordering two espresso based beverages and walked around looking at all the things we could paint. So many crafts. A bit pricey for us to each have a decently sized item, so we decided to work on a dog bowl together. The bowl was $30 but included everything you might need for it, all inclusive. A staff member set us up with water, plates, sponges and gave us 'the rundown' about where everything was and how to successfully produce an item. I absolutely love this place and can't wait to go back! The fact that they have pottery and coffee, stained glass and BYOB wine nights and tons of space is just amazing!!! They have a such a huge variety of ceramics that you can come in here with a set project ready to go or just come in on a whim. Looking for a one day date night idea? You can paint wine glasses and take them home as soon as they dry! No firing needed at all. But if you do need something fired, it's only a one week wait period so that's not too bad. Such a great experience! What drew me to this place initially was their Friday night hours, paint until 10pm (last seating I believe at 8), the other shops in the area close as early as 6:30pm on a Friday! It's as simple as picking a pottery piece, or if you want to do glass pieces those, note you cannot add a piece of glass to a traditional pottery piece. The price listed on the piece is all inclusive, includes as much paint as you need, firing, glazing, and any tips you may receive from the staff. I choose a medium flower bowl,i wanted to do a few details, but as a mere C student in elementary school art I needed to be cognizant of my limits! The piece turned out beautiful before and after, please note the color you select will be much lighter before firing. They recommend 3-4 coats of paint, this takes awhile! It took me the full 2 hours and maybe 10 extra minutes to finish my piece, so don't plan this as a 30 minute activity! If you don't finish your piece, you can bring it in the next day for no extra charge!! They also offer picture painting and byob nights, definitely will be back for this! read more

We just had our daughter's 11th birthday party here. I've been here a few times before and had great experiences so I assumed the birthday party will as well. My daughter is artistic so I thought it would be perfect. The issue started with me calling to reserve the party. I called them and expressed interest in booking the party. Someone immediately put me on hold for 20 minutes, then I was dropped. I called back and the same person picked up. I said I was on hold for 20 minutes then call disconnected. She did not apologize, instead she told me to go to their website and do everything online. So why didn't she say this when I called the first time? Two weeks later, we came for the party. The actual painting started much later than expected. The party started at 330p, but we were closer to 355p. During the painting, they were not allowed to eat. And last 40 minutes were reserved for the eating food to include cake. The instructor was patient and kind But once she was done with painting portion, she disappeared. Leaving me in charge of all 16 children. Mind you, I also had less adult help because the venue insisted that this be a drop off party, explaining there aren't enough spaces for parents. So my husband and I served all 16 kids ourselves, feeding pizza, pouring drinks and cake. It was same as being at home, except kids had 50 minutes of pottery paint. I even cleaned up after the whole party wrapped up. For all this, the total bill was $200 (10 kids) + $108 ($18 * 6 additional kids). $308 for 50 min painting and each kid got a pottery piece. Oh, and I as the host, have to pick up EVERYONE's pieces at once I'm 10 days. For this much work from booking till pick up, I'd rather skip the hassle and book party elsewhere. I took both of the munchkins here last Saturday to make a few things for Christmas presents for some of the luckier folks in our life. While I've only checked in once, the little ones have been here at least 4 times over the last few months. This place has a great creative vibe and is a fantastic place to enjoy an afternoon with friends or family while letting your creative juices flow. It was crowded, but buzzing with energy, not uncomfortable. The staff was also very friendly and that only added to the mellow vibe of the place. I'm not gonna lie to you here, it's a bit pricey. If you're simply looking for "dishes" I'm sure you can get a better deal at a regular old store. But the Pottery Stop isn't really about that. It's about creating something. I'm really looking forward to picking up what the kids made next Saturday (it takes a week to get your stuff pottery or glass jewelry fired). As one more bonus the place is totally independent, not a franchise, but a real honest-to-goodness independent small business. I went here on a date and it was truly a cute and memorable experience! We came in around 6pm and sat down at the work table. The staff already had a clean tile and water set up for us once we settled down. There are loads of options for what to paint but we ended up with a classic mug and spoon set. The staff gave us a quick and informative walkthrough on how the painting worked (dark colors on light colors is better than reverse) and then left us alone to paint to our hearts' desire. There were other people around but nothing to complain about during our time there Plenty of color options and paint brushes. I've been here twice and both were really great experiences. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the instructions they give are easy to understand and follow. If you have any questions, they'll do their best to help you -- and they'll even help you with the artwork on your mug if you need it (with tracing letters, showing you coloring techniques, etc). I came here for my friend's baby shower. This was my first experience at a pottery place and it was so much fun! The kids and adults both enjoyed it. We had 3 hours to pick a piece and paint it. 3 hours may seem like a long time but the time flew by! They had so many different things to choose from but I ended up picking a spoon rest. The employees there were very helpful. We had one dedicated host and she would constantly check up on our group to make sure we were doing okay. She was also very good with the kids and helped them do really cool things with their pieces. Once you're done painting you have to leave it with them so that they can bake it. I've been to several different pottery type places around the area and this is definitely the best one I've been to. The reason I love this one is because the vast array of options, the amount of resources available, and the uniqueness. There's so many options for pottery, but they also offer glass fusing and wood art as well! Never have I ever gone to a location with so many resources. I really appreciate the options of tape, multiple brush sizes, and tools I've never even seen before! It's incredibly helpful to allow an individual to be as creative as they want to be! They also offer snacks and coffee (for a cost) which is super unique because I've never seen any other pottery places offer this! I was invited to a girl's night of pottery painting. Well, I got to bring my own bottle of wine and food, so I was down! This was my first experience at a place like this. First, the parking SUCKS! Good luck trying to find a spot anywhere near the store in the evening. They have lots of pottery options and I thought the pricing was very reasonable. For newbies like me, the painting and glazing options are overwhelming to say the least. I suggest you think about your design before you come in or you will spend an hour just looking at options. I chose an ice cream bowl and sat down with the girls and got to work. It wasn't messy at all. I didn't have to clean up after myself. We sat at our table drinking wine and munching on the food we brought. Next thing I know, Its 4 hours later! I had a great time. Total price: $12.90 (not counting my wine and food of course). This is a great idea for something fun and different to do with your kids or a group of friends. No one bothers you, but are there to answer your questions and help with anything you need. Check their website for different promotions and special nights. I could see myself bringing my child (when I have one) here during the day as a fun thing to do on a rainy day. Immediately upon walking in, I was greeted by the staff working up front and was overjoyed to see all the hand painted pottery that was displayed around the shop. The concept of a coffee and pottery shop is nothing short of genius. Not only that, the vast array of clay pottery pieces that you can choose to paint are pretty impressive. My regret is that I did not have the time to stay and enjoy getting to paint a piece of pottery. I did wise up enough to order a drink. My latte was delicious. Pottery stop is a perfect example of what happens when you hire friendly, competent people who care about the business they work in. Everyone in this place from the owner to the manager (Megan) and the rest of the staff are super awesome. That's part of the reason why we try and make a visit at least once a week. this establishment makes an effort to make the customers experience a positive one. And they go above and beyond to help you in anyway possible. Because this is such a huge place you never feel like your sitting on top of someone and whenever we go inside it's never jammed packed with kids. I love the little ones but not when their making loud noise in my ears as im trying to get my art on!!! But of course this is a great activity for the little ones and ill be sure to bring my kids into pottery stop when i have them. From what I can tell kids birthdays are kept separate from the main room and this makes pottery stop not only fun but relaxing fornadults. The added coffee shop is a huge perk and the fact that there's a a burrito joint next store really makes pottery store a one stop shop for all your dietary and artistic needs. On a side note I've seen some reviewers comment on the pricing here. Considering the sticker price on each item includes materials, instruction (if needed) and unlimited time to work on your piece... I went to the Pottery Stop and Coffee Shop on a Sunday afternoon, and found the place to be buzzing with lots of adults and kids. My big disappointment was the prices for their pieces--this place is outrageously expensive! I have been to All Fired Up in DC and the Clay Bakers in Annapolis, MD and was shocked at the up-charge on the pottery being sold by the Pottery Stop. Both All Fired Up and Clay Bakers similar to the Pottery Stop do all-inclusive pricing with no hidden charges, so I wasn't sure why the Pottery Stop was charging at least 50% more on their pieces. The parking lot is small with spaces shared among several stores. Like All Fired Up and Clay Bakers, the Pottery Stop allows you to bring in food and drinks even though they have a coffee store on-premise. read more

Overall a good experience at this create your own pottery shop. We loved creating something with our daughter. However, there weren't many tables and the space is a bit on the smaller side. We would have liked a little more room. The workers were friendly, but there was no one at the front to greet us or show us what to do when we walked in, since we had never been to this shop before. It was also on the pricey side of things. We paid between 50 to 60 dollars to paint one mixing bowl. I assume that the price of paints and use of tools is almost included in that price. It would be too expensive for the three of us (a small party) to do our own. Also the parking situation isn't very good, there isn't much parking. Initially we couldn't find parking and it does feel crowded. I really hope we are happy with the piece that we did.
