I come here fairly often. It's one of my favorite experiences to do in the area! The staff is kind and knowledgeable. There is a big selection of ideas to pick from as well as style to paint your pieces. I love that they offer screens for cool images to be added to pieces. Ilove they offer themed nights! Im excited to see my finished piece of my ginger read house soon!

Hanging out with friends was a blast, and trying something new added to the excitement. The service was decent, although we did need to ask for help a few times. Overall, it was a cool experience!"l

Had a really great time with friends painting pottery! I have been here before but it was years ago and everything was still great. Easy to find pieces that we wanted to decorate and the prices were clearly displayed. The staff was so friendly and helpful in making our ideas come to life. A great place for date nights, time with friends and birthday parties. You can also BYOB. It's recommended to reserve a space on their website for your group. Our experience was fun and seamless.

Such great service! Everyone was so nice and helpful. We didn't make a reservation but they accommodated everyone!

If you are looking for a relaxing, creative, and fun time, then The Pottery Stop is your place. I went on a weekday, and the place was pretty busy. We called ahead, and a table was set with our name. When you walk in, you start by picking out your pre made pottery item off the shelves lining the walls. The prices are stated by each piece. There is a wide selection of plates, mugs, owls, trees, mermaids, and seasonal items to choose from. I settled on an antique truck with a Christmas tree on the back. Your table is equipped with several different colored paints, a palette card, paint brushes of various sizes, a bowl of water to clean the brushes, and lastly, a sponge. There is also a sample plate that shows an example of what the paint will look like in the end. We worked largely without instructions as the employee was busy. We were so focused on our project that we didn't notice the tables filling up around us. We also did not pick up our phones. When you're satisfied with your project, you take it to the register and pay for it. The pottery won't be able to be taken home the same day. You will receive a call or text in approximately 7 days saying your pottery is available to be picked up. This activity is for all ages. There were an equal number of children with their parents as there were adult groups. Unfortunately, I took off a star for the slight difficulty that I had finding the place, the venue being cluttered, and the employees being hard to distinguish from the patrons. However, pick up was easy and I love the way that my project turned out!

Omg what a great PYO pottery shop!! This has been one of my favorite activities since I was a little kid. I'm so excited to have found such a quality shop near me. They had a nice assortment of pottery pieces and paint choices. I did a mushroom fairy house this time around, I love it! And can't wait to get it back. I plan on it being the first addition to my fairy garden. I want to go back to paint the castle and maybe the salsa dip dish. The only annoying thing was hearing the rules repeated over and over again since there was plenty of traffic and not that big of a space. Overall, I definitely recommend! I can't wait to get back

Great atmosphere, always busy, and easy booking for us, private party events! Always helpful instruction as well?

My daughter and I had a great time painting pottery. We had the option to paint inside or outside. We sat outside and enjoyed the surroundings. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. They greeted us as soon as we walked into the store.. The stock of pottery was plentiful and it was hard choosing just one piece. This will be my new favorite hobby. I cant wait to go back and paint more pottery.

I absolutely love this place! My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary and I loved it!! This was my first time painting pottery so I was eating this up. I was very pleasantly surprised at the variety of things to paint! They had everything from Star Wars to dinosaurs. I had such a hard time picking what I wanted to paint. The instructions were explained so clearly and I loved that there were examples hung up. They helped me when I forgot so parts. I loved the way everything was organized and explained. It was all very starlight forward and easy to understand. Even the little paint palettes they gave you were adorable. My boyfriend and I painted matching rice bowls! They even come with chopsticks, so adorable. I cannot wait to go again!

This is an interactive date night with your girlfriends or your man. This is definitely a very unique concept in the Ellicott City area. I have been to pottery painting shops larger and better than this one. However, this shop is the only one that I really know of in this area. It's a place where your inner child let's lose. It is a fun, silly and unique way to spend some quality time with those you love. This is how the shop works. 1.) you walk into the store and you decide if you want to paint pottery, glass, handmade glass objects or hand-make Jewelry 2.) you create!!! 3.) you checkout. It's very simple and the staff is always there to help. They are eager and excited about what they do. I decided to paint pottery. On average, the objects range from 20 to 30$. There are no objects under the 20$ price range, unless you want to paint a miniature sized trinket/object... The staff explains everything to you. That way you know what you need to do. They make great suggestions and they also make sure you know about all your painting options. I recommend you paint at least three layers on your object of choice. That way the colors you pick look more vibrant. The lace application that you see in my first two yelp review photos are an additional 2$ charge. I suggest you bring your own desired lace because their selection of lace is somewhat limited.

Two of my toppers. $10 each.

This place is super cute! My SO and I went on a Saturday evening. It was crowded but not too bad. A paint class started shortly after we arrived. I think I'll try that next! So there were some cute things to paint like mugs, bowls, plates, skulls, and I think I saw some Harry Potter stuff. There were a lot of colors and different size brushes and items to give your paint some texture. Our items were ready the following Saturday. The only thing is that when we got our stuff back there were a couple of smudges on them. I'll still go back soon!

FUN FUN FUN! My sister and I were looking for something fun to do on a chilly rainy day.....this was it! Made a same day reservation for the pottery painting. Super friendly staff. Trisha guided us through the process as we had never done this before. We picked our pieces, selected our colors and were on our way .... Trisha also showed us special techniques such as stenciling and using specialty glazes. Tables were spaced accordingly, the studio was clean and spacious.

Tim was out instructor for the Matcha No Michi Experience. He was very thorough, patient, and knowledgeable! Him and the rest of the Seeing Green team made the event so much fun! Quite a few of us were first timers but we all ended up with successful pieces thanks to the team! It takes a few weeks to get them back but they also offer the option of having it shipped to you. They have various pieces to purchase and I was so smitten with my chawan that I ended up buying it from the instructor since it was his piece! I have told my friends about the time I had here and I can't wait to return with them! I arrived intimidated but left feeling proud of my work! Such a great experience! Parking is very limited in their lot but street psrking is available. They are located to the right side of the building connected to the antique shop.

I went here for an event versus a pottery class, so my review is going to be more about the venue itself. We were doing a dinner party here and it was really good to see the space where you could make pottery; that said the bathroom left a lot to be desired and the kiln was on so it was incredibly hot. The community here is super super dedicated and Amanda. The owner is really passionate about her art so I can't wait to come take a class. Lesson pottery is a little bit expensive so I haven't really been able to make the swing to take a class yet.

The three of us joined three others on a Saturday morning for a class using the pottery wheel. Rezgar Mamandi was our teacher- he was patient, kind and I learned so much! Seating was rather limited, so I would go early or reserve a spot (which I believe you can do). There is a variety of colors to choose from and have samples to know how the paint will look when fired. Some people have already mentioned it, but I highly recommend doing multiple layers. Our mugs ended up streaky in some spots. The paint dries fairly quickly, so it wasn't too bad applying layers. There were a lot of pottery pieces to choose from. I wish there were more like basic pieces though to have a more blank canvas. The prices were reasonable for each piece! The prices were written on the bottom. The firing process took about a week. My boyfriend and I have been using our mugs almost every day and they have held up well! Paint on mine did chip on the side, but my boyfriend's mug has been completely fine.
