If you're looking for a fun tactile experience, do one of their make-your-own workshop. They have a wide variety of things you can make from small trinkets to fancy drinking glasses. Something for everyone's budget. The staff make the process really simple so there is zero reason to feel intimidated. Anyone can do it. My team and I had a blast making icicles; my personal favorite was handling the blow torch. I also think it's pretty cool that they have a female dominated staff. Go women in STEAM lol! The onsite gallery is also pretty dope; they have so many unique decorative and practical pieces for sale. I didn't know glass could do some of those things. I have always wanted to try glass blowing / glass making and had the opportunity last night. You can select one of many objects to create and up to three colors for your piece. Be careful with the colors you select because some of them interact differently if they touch. The staff here were very knowledgeable and encouraging. My friends and I had a great time and experience with the McFadden team this past Saturday (3-28-26). It was the close-out event to a month-long celebration of my birthday and it was the perfect closer. I've long wanted to do a glass-blowing class so when this popped up I was excited to get my friends together to try it with me. Admittedly, it was not initially what I was expecting (there was no formal class or long instruction or presentation) BUT it actually turned out to be even better because it is more of a hands-on experience with individual attention from the staff along each step of the process. We had a reservation for 5pm and once we all arrived, we were given the safety breakdown and clear instructions on what we would be doing, and then we were off! Everyone chose something personal and had a blast creating it with the guidance of the kind, attentive and helpful staff. Each member in our party went one at a time with a different staffer to begin their creation, which was great because it allowed time and opportunity for us to capture video memories and photos of each other during the process. The prices are extremely reasonable, which I love because I tend to be a frugal fanny at times! I only wish the options for the class projects included a few more piece variations at each price range ($25 to $70). The projects from start to finish do not take very long, which is a good thing and bad thing...if you don't have anything planned for afterwards :-) At the end of the event, my friends all had something unique that they created in remembrance of our time together. Had such a great time here for my post birthday day! Came on a Saturday and made a reservation through email. They were super responsive which I def appreciated. Me and two other friends made a spoon rest, a pumpkin and a flower-(I made the flower). We had three different glass blowers helping us with each step so everything was very safe. It was short but really cool! They make such cool and interesting glassblowing! Highly recommend visiting, even if it's just to see the gallery. They are kind of in the middle of nowhere but they do have their own parking lot and they're next to a small shopping center. The prices range from $25-75. I paid $40 for the flower not including the optional tip. Such a unique experience. It's very hot in there so you can wear anything, even open toed shoes or shorts. Fantastic place for a date night, group activity or individual who get certified to make projects on their own! I was emailing with Mrs. McFadden to schedule our time and she was very nice to work with. We ended up choosing 4pm which was great because we were in between other groups and had many people working with us. We went as a group of 4 and each did something different. Someone takes down your project request a what colors you want to make it in. You get up to 3 color choices. We did a vase, a pumpkin, icicle ornaments and a stemless wine glass. Tim, Josh and Brie were so much fun to work with! Tim was so patient and clearly explained every step and why they do it the way they do. It made us all feel comfortable and we had a ton of fun. Each piece cost between $60-$80 but it looked like you could do different higher priced ones if you asked. Highly recommend this place! I went to last night's date night and it was such a great experience. The first 30-45 minutes is a demonstration and then staff calls groups to create a piece of your choosing (all reasonably priced). There was a lot more hands on than we expected which was great. This birthday adventure exceeded my expectations. A whole group of my friends joined me to blow glass - most of us for the first time. And I can say with absolute certainty that we all had a fantastic time. I wasn't sure that I was actually going to be able to do any of the tasks required to make the glass piece that I chose. I am severely disabled and use a wheelchair. My arms don't move like an average person's arms move. I am not strong, at all. But Tim was an amazing teacher, and never once made it seem like I wasn't doing a good job, or that my special needs were unusual at all. I got to do every bit of the process, from heating the glass to shaping the heart, to tapping the pole to release the finished paperweight (and about 15 other steps in between). I couldn't stop smiling. The studio was so warm and comforting. I can't imagine blowing glass in the summer. It must get like an inferno in there. It's entertaining to just sit on the nearby bleachers and watch everyone as they perform this ballet, working around each other, all while handling molten glass. There were seven people in my party, and we all made something different. The pieces have to cool in the annealer for several days before we can pick them up. I can't wait to see the finished products. The glass shop sells some amazingly beautiful pieces, some super extravagant, some completely affordable. It's worth checking it out, even if you don't make your own piece. I must have driven past the shop a million times in my life. I had no idea the splendor housed inside. Go see it! We booked a small group for a birthday outing. Highly recommend. It's a little intimating at first but overall a great experience. We plan to come back! Bri and Josh were leading our group today (9/15) and it was such a pleasure to work with them. They were great at keeping us safe, making sure we could participate in the process as much as possible, and explaining the mechanics of glass blowing. I also asked the shop to make a custom glass animal for our birthday girl and it was beautiful and not too costly. There's a shelf showing various designs as well as colors you can chose from. Your cost is dependent on what you want to make. For more substantial pieces, the price seems to run from about $40 to $70 (?) The very friendly staff then help you work thru the process of creating your own masterpiece! In reality they do most of the work but your hands-on input is used during the entire process and you feel a sense of accomplishment when finished. So every year for my birthday I look to do something I've never done before and last year it was glass blowing. i am not sure what I expected going in but this experience was amazing!! I talked about it so much that my friends are jealous and cant wait for me to go back so I can bring them with. Setting up the session was easy, I did it via email and as a millennial who hates talking on the phone that was perfect. They told me i could choose everything when I arrived so all i had to do was set a day and time. When i arrived i was with another small group and we were walked through safety with handling the hot glass. Then we were shown options of objects and colors and got to work. I loved how involved I was able to get with dipping the glass in the colors, heating it in the stove and pulling it to make the flower I made. I also got to use the torch to burn off the end. I loved the process and cant wait to go back to make more glass things, for now I have my glass flower and the flower i purchased as a mini bouquet. read more

What an absolute cool place!! if you are interested in learning about glassblowing and possibly trying it for yourself, you should definitely try it here! The staff are very passionate and super friendly. You can sign up with a group to do a group class. In this session, you choose one of a few glass items to make. You get to choose your colors, and you will work with a glass artist to make that piece. You're able to pick the piece up a few days later or have that piece shipped to you add an additional cost. The studio itself is comprised of two buildings which are on the smaller side. There is virtually, no parking, probably about five spots. I highly recommend you carpool or take a rideshare to get there. There is also a glass exhibit next door in a house (the McFadden family used to live there when the studio first started). In this house, there are gorgeous glass, installations and collections if you're interested in buying anything You also pay for your session in the house. The house also has the only bathroom. Wear something that you are comfortable in and that you won't get hot in. It's called the hot shop for a reason, the furnaces are very hot. Even with the door open and even being in winter, it was hot in there. If you want to wear something protective for your arms, they have sleeves you can wear, but I recommend short sleeves or a layer I highly recommend booking a party, reunion, event with a group of people at this location. You really get a sense of glass blowing as you work with an artist. It was a lot of fun and it was fast paced. A very enjoyable time. If you like it, you can book a beginner session where you will learn over a series of classes how to blow glass yourself. There's a lot of opportunities here to be creative! read more

Great overall experience and such a fun find! I made an appointment to attend their ornament making class. You can call ahead and make the reservation. When we arrived, they put our names on a list and asked what color ornaments we would like to make (you could pick up to three colors) After everyone was checked in, the staff looked for volunteers to go next. There is no order in which people make their glass piece, it's all based on volunteering so be ready to jump up if you're ready! There are two large rooms where the pieces can be made and the day we attended, five instructors. Each instructor is with you every step of the way and it's very safe. You will have to return to pickup your item in two days. Can't wait to see how ours turned out!! There is a private parking lot and everyone has masks on. My sister and I brought our mom here as a joint Mother's Day activity. My sister had come once before with a friend. We arrived on a rainy, miserable Sunday. A little out of the way for people who don't know the area but the signage is clear and there is plenty of parking. Walked inside to see coffee and donut holes waiting for guests. (Because after breakfast, mimosas and beignets, and totally need a few donut holes too.) We were number 3, 4 and 5 on the list to go. Basically whoever gets there first, goes first. My sister knew this and so we arrived at 10:45am. Not bad at all. The people there explained the process and safety things. You figured out what you wanted to make and picked your colors. Then, all of the sudden, you are holding a metal pole with molten glass on the end. They walk you through step by step and I never felt uncomfortable. I even helped blow while my sister turned hers. Pretty neat! (Although not the best picture of me.) I can't wait to pick up my wineglass. There were also little kids there patiently being shown how to pull the glass to make a flower. Very neat for them. I would absolutely go back. This would be a great date night or birthday experience. read more

Everyone at McFadden was so incredibly friendly! McFadden was our last stop during our trip to Maryland. We'd traveled from Chicago and were in town for the day, and just about to leave for Atlanta. After finding them on Yelp and dropping by, we were invited to watch the glass blowing in the warehouse. After watching how beautiful the colors become as they changed in the heat and in the air, they directed us to the house next door that served as their showroom where we wandered around and enjoyed the space - especially the quirky bathroom! Took my nephew here during his spring break. The kid was around 8 years old at that time and he was pretty amused by the whole process. He worked on a drinking glass for himself and a flower for his mom. Instructors were pretty patient and very friendly. The place was considerably hot and a bit intimidating as expected. The kid appeared a bit nervous in the beginning and he stayed focused and careful the whole time. He followed the instructions diligently. We had to wait for two days before we could go and collect our cooled down master pieces. My nephew would not stop talking about it those two days :) He was very eager to see how they turned out.
