Pretty cool place, you can paint pottery for as little as about $10. Lots of pieces to choose from along with a plethora of different paints. Although what bothered me is that at the end when I paid I gave the cashier my phone number to put on the pickup slip and they said they'd call me in about 2 weeks when it's ready. 4 weeks pass and I call them, they said they ever call customers and to just come in after a week. Pretty misleading and if I didn't remind myself to call I would've waited too long to pick it up. Besides that, great place to enjoy a fun activity for a couple hours. read more

Yesterday my boyfriend and I attended this pottery shop on a whim because I wanted to do something creative for my birthday, he picked out a dinosaur piece and I picked a simple picture frame. All staff was very helpful , especially when I wanted to screen print stencil some words and needed help holding it down for proper placement. Clean organized studio lots to chose from. Can't wait to go back to pick up our pieces and fingers crossed they turn out nice Parking was easy as it's in a shopping center . You can bring your coffee or soda to drink while working. This is our go to place to celebrate special family events. Everyone on staff are super friendly, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. This time we were helped by Abby who stayed behind after her shift and gave us her absolute 110% to make sure we were completely satisfied with our projects! This kind gesture of hers made my daughter's second birthday all that much more special and memorable. There's no place like this anywhere nearby. My husband's coworkers had invited me here along with my husband and we had a blast!! And to say that for my husband is shocking because he doesn't paint and he loved it and loved the way his piece turned out. I didn't finish painting my piece the first day and visited yesterday to finish along with my daughters. Again, my daughter doesn't paint and she said she would return....with friends!!! The owners are wonderful , helpful and so friendly, I could sit and just talk to them and paint!! Pricing is not bad at all for a day full of fun!! What a cute little place! I have been to other pottery places like this in other cities. This is a really super cute one. On Black Friday they passed out hot chocolate and donuts :) I only have one complaint... The girls in there need to discuss their personal matters in private and at an "inside voice"... I had one girl hanging stuff on a wall while practically shouting all of her personal business to the other girl filling out the chalkboard. I was in there to spend a quiet evening painting with my child, not to have him listen to college girl drama. I now know all about the one girls mom, her best friend fighting with her mom, their new house, her new sink...etc. the other family in there was also irritated. They commented to me as I put away paints. UPDATE - I have been back a few times since the above complaint and have had nothing but excellent service and atmosphere. I highly recommend the Prancing Pig for a fun girls night or something to do with your children :) read more

My all time favorite arts studio, projects are so fun, excellent service and staff. I cannot say enough about their cool party room! I love love love this place! Say hi to their resident kitty greeter Crash. Pick a project. Studio time is included; you can stay all day and if you don't have time to finish, come back-- it's awesome! Plus they have a kids night that rocks, complete with food and art, ladies night--it's also catered beautifully and it's BYOB plus all kinds of interesting seasonal additions to this fine repertoire. I LOVE The Prancing Pig! Went here with a meetup group and it was a few hours on a Sunday of painting ceramics, chatting with friends and just plain relaxation. I don't have a whole lot of artistic ability, but that doesn't keep me from coming here. I just LOVE how relaxed I am when I am painting. You can bring food and drink and paint for hours. The only down side is they don't have music where you paint. This is a must for me :)....it makes it even better! I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you brought your own, but I would call ahead and ask first. Margaret and Michelle were both delightful and Michelle answered any questions we had and even gave us some tips! I am sure I will frequent here. read more

Great little pottery place! We love painting pottery and always had to go to Lancaster, but now we have place in York to go to (and apparently the only place in York you can paint pottery). It's a very relaxed atmosphere, great for adults and kids! They have a nice selection of pieces and a decent selection of paints. The staff is also very friendly and answered any and all of our questions and even offered suggestions! We were very pleased with our experience and plan to visit again. read more

First I'd like to say that the owner was very nice and helpful with all of my concerns. The staff, not so much. I don't think they know what they are doing. People at our table were complaining about the place the whole time which was annoying. It was very busy and we had to wait for seats & you sit right on top of other people that keep bumping the table while you're working on your masterpiece. A different arrangement of seating or just a bigger place in general would help. My biggest issue was the price. Quite ridiculous to pay over $20 for a coffee cup. 4 of us painted 4 things and the bill was over $80. Fun but very expensive for what you get in the end. 3 stars for the owner and her hospitality. -2 stars for the price, staff, and the lack of room and comfort. I had been dying to check this place out for months. I was so excited to finally have a chance to pop in today. I was so taken aback by the rudeness of the owner who had no time for me! Not even courteous enough to say hello or she would be with me when she was finished wit the people ahead of me which was a young couple. Guess she doesn't need the business. I looked around for at least 10 minutes. She said nothing! I finally walked out! Not to mention, the prices are outrageously priced! If you want to paint a piece of pottery, go to Michaels or AC Moore and pick one up for less than 1/2 the cost! I'll never go back there! That place won't be there more than a year!
