Really bad smells! It smelled so bad I was concerned that I might take the smell with me. The walls are paper-thin so we were treated (exposed?) to the sounds of the couple next door having sex. We could tell that gal's day was off to a really great start! The controls for the heat and the A/C are really unusual, so they have to provide instructions on how to use them. They did so by handing me a folded sheet of white paper, but they did not say what it was. Only that it had some information about the hotel. The place is really run down with many broken features. They had two blow driers in the bathroom, one of which was broken. A broken soap dispenser in the shower, and the deadbolt of the door was also broken. They didn't even provide a plastic cup to get a drink of water. What an incredibly low-end cost cutting measure! Loaner bicycles are available, but five out of six had flat tires. this review is based on my experience with the "manager" Valerie who lacks basic skills a manager SHOULD have like leadership, communication, and empathy. i booked 1 night the night before my courthouse wedding. when booking online i requested a late check out which was ignored. the next day i called and left a message requesting a late check out, no answer & no call back. upon check in the young man said they can accommodate my late check out. the morning of check out i went to the office to confirm my late check out where unfortunately i had to deal with Valerie. As soon as I walked in, she had the rudest look on her face and just did not want to deal with me clearly. i came in just to see if my late check out was still okay & she DISRESPECTFULLY responded to me saying that was not happening. As we were going back & fourth because i was confused why her employee would say yes then she chose to say no, she was constantly yelling at me, talking over me, laughing at me, & rolling her eyes at me. when i asked who was in charge of her so i could file a complaint against her, she laughed & said i can send an email. which i will be, & i have also filed a complaint with the BBB. As a "manager" she not only handled the situation incorrectly, but she also disrespected me. the RIGHT thing to do was to just apologize to me and say they don't do that & apologize for the misinformation. Instead, not a single sorry on her behalf nor did she want to make up for the confusion. As a manager working in customer service, and hospitality, you would think she would have a warm welcoming personality and be able to handle situations like this. instead she decided to treat me badly, disrespect me, and laugh at me. i could care less about the late check out. i figured i would ask if it was possible. i am upset with how she not only treated me & my family, but how she responded to a situation as simple as this. it did not have to get to the point it did nor did she have to disrespect me when i came in nicely and treated her with respect. because i treat people the way i want to be treated. clearly she does not do that. read more

What The Presidio has going for it - the location! Right on State St. , a couple of blocks away, a short walk from Arlington Theater and some of our favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. It is cheaper than other hotels in the area, but still expensive in general, especially for a no frill kind of experience which I knew of when I booked it. We stayed for 1 night during an anniversary getaway weekend. I don't know if I'd stay here. It depends. When I booked our room, I mentioned I'd like a quiet room on top floor on the reservation. I called a couple of days before and they said they'd try. We had many bad experiences at various hotel due to noise, so we were concerned, especially that they close the front desk at 10 pm. Which made us nervous, not good! I don't know why they can't have anyone overnight! Upon check in, the lady working was distracted by her kid in the next room (who was watching cartoons) and didn't remember my request. She gave me a room on the ground floor, I asked to switch! And I got one upstairs! The room was clean which is a plus, big. Same with the bathroom. Plenty of room to put your things. Had a Queen bed, smaller than ours at home. But comfy with various types of pilows. A major minus - no coffee maker! That is too cheap! I knew about it, but still...Upon request, you can get an electric tea kettle from main desk. No microwave either! Just a fridge (placed in the bathroom) and a hair dryer. No clock or phone in the room! A jug of water in main area would be nice, especially that stores around close early! The soap dispenser in the shower had no soap! Need to bring the one from the sink or your own! Otherwise, the shower is easy to use, great water pressure! Staff woke us up, they started cleaning rooms too early, especially for a Sunday. How about after check out at 11 am? It's a small place. We couldn't get our TV to work. Had to unplug it, the screen froze at some point on the HDMI screen LOL. My husband called front desk, it was before 10 pm, but no one answered. When we checked out, the lady didn't apologize, she was a tad nonplussed by it. We didn't have time to watch much TV, but still. I wish main desk staff would be more caring. They are polite, but very detached and you feel too much on your own! You can grab a free bike. Not my thing. I liked their patio, it could be nice to relax with a beverage as an aperitif during a late summer afternoon. I'd say Presidio was decent. No major big drama. Safe area which is a plus! Just an OK stay. Could be better based on the price they charge. And comparing with other hotels of this type. More frills and bells could make your stay better! read more

First off I have to say that the staff were great. We got in earlier than we planned but they had a room available. I wanted to lead with that because there are issues. This is clearly an older building and in need of some refreshing, while the room was not terrible there were issues. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were on the sink it looks like it had been mounted in the shower at one time but was removed. Which made showering a task having to reach out of the shower to use them. The paint in the bathroom was rough and the blinds for the window left gaps enough that people passing by could look in. I want to stress these weren't deal breakers It seems they are trying to keep the place up but maybe are behind a bit. They are however things people that are planning to stay there should be aware of. I think for Santa Barbara and it's proximity to everything on State Street it was a fair price. read more

If i could leave no stars I would this place is an absolute dump me and my daughter traveled here 01/28/2025 upon checking in we went into room and found a space heater on the floor the room was in the 40's freezing, I called the front desk whom told me yes the heat was out in the room and there was nothing that could be done. This was beyond unprofessional how could you book a room where the heater didn't work. It was so cold in the room my daughter was crying. I was told to call tomorrow and speak with Elizabeth in regard to reimbursement upon the morning Elizabeth said I could speak with owner Laura. Horrible experience at this place. We left early it was so bad. We had room 7 which is upstairs. There's a small deck area about 15 feet from our room. Someone who rented a room decided to have a bachelor party on the deck. They had music going, a lot of drinking and loud talking. We were trying to get some rest before going out for the evening. We called down to the desk, but no reply. I went down there to ask the woman at the desk to ask them to be a little quieter, but she said they are entitled to be there, so she couldn't stop them. We asked for the managers number, but she said she didn't have it. We never heard from anyone from the hotel even after numerous calls and emails. We cut our weekend short and left town. So much to say here... Valerie is the female that was very rude to my wife when called to ask a couple questions about the booking... NO help just RUDE... why??? Anyways we ended up rebooking this "hotel" last minute. Yes rebooking cause we had canceled due to how HIGH the night was .. which technically was the Cheapest for this weekend... $314- per night... the price I canceled was $380- can you imagine?!?... let me clarify. This is NOT a "hotel" it IS a MOTEL... its a motel and it's advertised as a hotel. Ok.. moving forward... Upon entering room it was surprisingly "Ok" we had a deluxe queen room.. small fridge bath shower but NO baths allowed. Carpet is old the chair as you ca see pictured has definitely seen better Days... looks like something someone thew away and they picked up... I didn't take a photo.. but while sitting on "desk" chair it tilted over and I nearly fell this was mid night when returning from an event... I didn't wanna wake my husband up, so I attempted to screw back the screws... like HOW are they not checking this!?!? Anyways shower time... you might as well shower at the beach complimentary in shower sprayer. The pressure head was not good at all.. I mean cmon!!!!!!!! Again the PRICES!!! For this is CRAZY!!!! There's absolutely NO privacy if you'd like to enjoy the windows open for a cool breeze during day or night!! Or get some actual proper LIGHT...its not happening Cause everyone can see in.. and they do... Booked 3 nights for a trip. Worst experience ever! First day/night ... colder weather and NO heat except for a space heater. Was suggested to just leave the heater running while we were out and asleep. Also no running cold water in the bathroom. Young man managing the hotel at that time could do nothing but call his manager and have us switch rooms that night. New room ... NO heat but 2 space heaters. Seriously???? Only had 1heater running when the power in the room went out (mind you this was about 10:15 at night) Called the front desk. Young man comes up again. Told him he probably needed to find the circuit box and flip the breaker back. He was new and had no idea what to do. Called the manager again, was suggested we move back to old room. Not at 10:30 at night! was told the manager would be there the next morning. Went down there at 8:15, not 6 o'clock in the morning, only to find a note on the door they were not available yet. Finally saw the manager sauntering in at 8:30. Went to speak with her And Told her we should have gotten Friday night for free. She agreed. My friend who booked a room still has not gotten that refund. Also, in California you probably don't get your taxes back. I would not ever recommend this place to anybody. We were there this past weekend for a quick getaway, and the Presidio Hotel was a great experience for us. Check in was quick - no problems. I had requested a room on the second floor, away from the street and we got the furthest back room - fairly quiet, even with people coming up the stairs at night. The room itself was spotlessly clean (the clerk checking us in said that we got a recently renovated room) and functional. It did have a mini fridge, coffee/tea maker and a heater, which felt good when we got back from a chilly kayaking trip on Sunday. We also liked that it was within easy walking distance to restaurants and stores on State St. Parking was also easy. We would recommend this hotel. read more

I should have read the reviews. Is like to be fair, but the duty "manager" was so rude I felt like I was a bother to him. The room was tidy and clean but was rough. We had to hang up the extra blanket over the window which had a broken taped up blind which gave zero privacy, especially at night. We decided to try a new hotel on this stay in Sana Barbara. We went with a place within walking distance of our reason for traveling, a concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl. We chose the Presidio Hotel. Due to a timing mix-up on my part we were arriving to the hotel hours before check-in time. The staff stepped up and got a room cleared and cleaned (they were fully booked the night before) and the front desk got us registered three hours early so that I could get in and catch some much needed sleep. The Had to make a stop overnight on our way to our final destination so this hotel choice was out of necessity. We were blessed by fate. From the moment we walked through the door the facility glowed with professionalism. The counter person - this was 11:30pm was cheerful and concerned for out comfort and wellbeing. We were in our room in no time. This is a little thing but they had the new type luggage carts that made transporting everything MUCH easier. The room was CLEAN, furnished comfortably even though it was a cookie cutter chain design. The bed was very comfortable ( a huge plus) and the supplies were all of excellent quality. While we were only at the hotel the one night the staff and facility made a very positive impression on us. Wo story facility is old but maintained well. Our room was at the top of the stairs (no-elevator). The bed was good, the room was clean. The lone chair in the room, sadly, was broken. There isn't coffee "pot" in the room or a microwave. There is small refrigerator. On the upside, the water is hot and gets hot fast. Also, it is well located. We literally walked to everywhere we needed to go on the trip. Bottomline, it is a simple, clean hotel with pleasant staff and conveniently located. read more

If I would have written this review on the first day we got here, it would have been a solid 5/5 but I'm so glad I waited to really take it all in. We stayed here Thursday night to Sunday. We never had any issues with parking, they offer ice in the front office (prepackaged, small bags but it worked) and I will say that everyone who I interacted with in the front office was super nice and friendly. It is extremely close to state street which has all the good restaurants and cute shops and the room itself was a lot bigger than I expected. Also it was a lot nicer than most motels I've seen before but I do have a few complaints. First thing, my boyfriend and I had come here for our anniversary (we don't drink alcohol), so I brought some apple cider so that we could still have a celebratory drink except the fridge was on so high it completely froze everything we had in there and ruined our drinks and by the time we noticed, it was way too late to go get more and that really was terrible especially since you need a tool to turn the fridge coldness up and I didn't expect for it to be that high in the first place. Secondly, my boyfriend kept getting bites on himself. I looked up bed bug bites and they don't look similar but he got them two nights in a row on his arms and chest and I noticed the mattress protector was ripped on his side so I'm really not sure what it was or if the two had any correlation. And third, the thing that bothered me most was when we were leaving we noticed all the clean sheets were just set on top of the dirty a/c covers outside the rooms that needed service. I ran my finger across them and they were covered in dust which means that the clean sheets are technically dirty when put on. And fourthly, I liked that they had a fridge but it would have been really nice had there been a microwave and because of these reasons I don't think I will be returning which honestly makes me sad because like I said, the room was huge and cute and close to everything but there were just too many things wrong. read more

I will not make this long as it upsets me beyond belief. We booked a room with two beds on April 26th 2021 for a stay from August 13th 2021. THREE AND A HALF MONTHS IN ADVANCE! Paid in full! We arrived on August 13th 1HOUR BEFORE CHECK IN TIME and; THEY HAD GIVEN OUR ROOM AWAY! So we were stuck in Santa Barbara with nowhere to stay at 4pm. When the manager got involved, his words cut like a knife. I quote "I do apologize, but its tough luck really!" He didn't even offer to find us a room in another hotel. He would have left us to sleep on the street. If you book hotels you know how hard and expensive it is to get a room for that night at 4pm for three people and two beds. The hotel's total lack of customer service and incompetence cost us an extra $1200 for a long weekend. Obviously I will never stay there again and this review is to warn you that this Hotel could cost you more than a ruined weekend, extreme anxiety and $1200, it could cost you your life, sleeping on the street. read more

I was really hoping it wouldn't be this bad based on other reviews. The first night at 2:45 am my daughter and were woken up to very loud talking/arguing coming from the room next door. This lasted about an hour. Since there is no staff at that hour we had no one to call. They must have made up because at 7:00 a.m the headboard that is on the shared wall was banging away. The toilet seat is broken/not secure. Upon taking the first shower, the available shampoo and conditioner were empty. The bathroom windows are old louvered and I had to get on a chair to try and close them since it's cold at night, and very much a safety issue. They do not close all the way. The paint is chipped all over the place, stains on the ceiling. Old school key with a deadbolt that also has a key from the outside! The first night I propped a chair at the handle of the door. The TV was working sporadically then not at all. The night staff knocked on our door and came into our room and decided it was not going to work. The last item as my daughter was getting ready to take a shower as she unfolded the clean towel that was given to us by housekeeping a pair of bright yellow thong underwear fell out. This was a great option to stay a few nights in Santa Barbara! The location is right off of State Street, so everything is pretty much walking distance. The rooms are nice with comfy beds and large bathrooms. You can kind of tell that it used to be kind of a crappy motel and then someone with good taste remodeled and redesigned it to be much cuter (some of the photos in reviews look outdated and different from the cleaner and more modern experience we had). I usually don't stay in motels, but would consider this more on par with an inn or bed and breakfast due to cleanliness and the updates they've made. Everything was very seamless and clean. The sheets and towels were replaced daily and the staff at the desk was always available and very helpful. I booked via Booking.com and had no issue with my reservation and was able to easily communicate with the staff before and during my stay. Unfortunately I went during a busier time so they were unable to give us early check in or late check out, but everything was seamless otherwise. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone looking to spend time in Santa Barbara on a budget! read more

SB Local here! Just wanted to give some appreciation to Michael, at the front desk for giving us ice when the machine ran out and lovely oranges. This was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture! Rented a room for 3 nights during fiesta as I was having out of town guests. On state street, bikes to use freely, and a clean and comfortable room to sleep in. The room (#11) was on the dark side but came equipped with a lovely view of the blue sky and palm trees right on State street. There are carpet floors and vinyl curtains in the shower and I guess I prefer less of both of those items! I would recommend they add more lights in the room. Other than these two very common annoyances I have with most hotels I will say that The Presidio tops my list for the best place to staycation in SB on a budget. The hotel is situated in a convenient location and is close to everything. We took advantage of the bikes and appreciate the hospitality. I recommend The Presidio to anyone looking for a clean and comfortable room in Santa Barbara that is walkable and affordable. I would definitely stay here again. read more

This is actually a motel. They don't clean the room every day, only when you leave. They don't have breakfast or coffee or a coffee maker. Very basic place that's clean with great staff in good location. They do have 4 bikes that you can rent for a day for free, but it's first comes first serve basis. We were here for a short weekend and did not have issue with finding parking. 1 parking per room is free. We had a situation where we had to leave the car past the check out time and they were accommodating. They do have a deck where you can chill and there's also a cat! It's not a stray because it has the collar, but it likes to get inside your car and your room if they are open. So watch out for that. Overall, for the price, this place was a great stay. My boyfriend and I stayed here this past weekend and we had a very good experience. It was a great deal, being that Santa Barbara is on the pricier side. This place had one of the lowest rates and was in a good area (upper State St, relatively close to downtown, and very close to the freeway). We were able to walk everywhere from here with no problem. I do wish we had taken advantage of the free bike rentals though (beach cruisers available from 9am-6pm everyday). I will probably be back during warmer days and take one sightseeing or bar hopping around the city. The hotel also had a cute little sun deck on the second floor where you can lay back and catch some sunrays. The hotel itself is in need of some TLC. I mean, it's an older place, but our room was super comfy, clean and spacious. The bed and pillows were so comfortable and all linens were clean. Another plus, was the wall mounted tv... We had a quick stay here after a dive trip to the Channel Islands. It is close to the harbor & beach. The staff was super nice and helpful. They do have office/check in hours but are accessible after hours by phone if needed. They have free bikes for rent, which is a unique and cool amenity. They also have a little upper patio with seating. The room itself was nice. It had heat/AC, a TV, and mini fridge. It was everything we needed for a quick nights stay! read more

This place is fine for a night but no longer. No coffee machines in the rooms, no ice machines, you have to ask the front desk for ice and ditto with an iron & ironing board. The narrow walkway goes right past the rooms so everyone looks in when going past unless you close the pull down shade & sit in a dark room. We love this little Motel. We have stayed here twice now and have enjoyed our visits. The rooms are a good size and the staff is friendly, which makes every stay that much more pleasant. The Presidio is located in such a great location in that it's 1) just outside of the hustle and bustle of lower State and 2) in walking distance of AMAZING restaurants. There is a DT Shuttle that shuttles riders up and down State St. The shuttle stop is two blocks down State from this motel. The Presidio has beach cruisers for customers to use, huge plus and so much fun! We love to have a cocktail on the cute little balcony overlooking state, then head down to dinner at one of the many choices. Most buildings in Santa Barbara are older, so The ONLY downside to this spot is that the walls are a little thin. Noise from outside also finds its way in as the windows are slatted. We are not in our room much, so this isn't a huge downer on our end. Each room is equipped with a decent size min fridge. We will be staying here again and again. read more

We stayed at this hotel 2 months ago we had booked several months in advance for a long weekend get away. Initially they gave us room #14, which was right at the corner of the stairs facing the back parking lot and garbage cans. It was loud and a high traffic area (I have a hard time sleeping). We asked to move rooms so they gave us room #10 it was a tiny bit better. We were going to be coming back for a concert this weekend so we booked room #10 for when we returned. The front desk assured us this would be no problem and she would put this request on our booking. We arrived and they said they gave our room away to a big group whom all wanted their rooms together. If they can't secure your request why even promise us the room #. It was a disappointment especially with my sleeping issues. It was too late for us to reserve at a different hotel so we did end up staying one night but will never again!!! It seems like from a lot of these reviews that they just don't take care of their customers. Also, we've stayed in 3 different rooms here and none of them look like the pictures. It's kind of like staying at a really hip Ikea room. It looks like an old motel from the outside, but completely remodeled new and fresh inside. - Ambiance: Super cool. When we got there, they were having a BBQ up on the deck and offered us some cold beer. - Amenities: They have Giant Robot magazine and some other cool booklets featuring up-and-coming artists. The flat panel LCD tv is cool too. The bathroom has plenty of towels, shampoo, and soap (no conditioner or lotion... but hey... it's a motel, right?) - Service: Kenny, the woman at the front desk is really nice and remembered that we were visiting Solvang first. When we asked if we could have a spare Giant Robot mag, she went to the back and came back with a stack of various cool magazines and art books. :D - Guest Room: Very clean. The walls are a little thin, but we didn't notice this until the morning when some people were leaving and were noisy as heck. - Value: At about $200 for two queen beds, it was a little expensive for a motel. But, the cool factor weighed in... and other motels were showing prices similar to this... The Presidio takes motel experience up several notches, with vaulted ceilings in the second-floor rooms, free parking and fridges for online food delivery. The linens are impossibly clean, with tidy bathrooms and adequate climate control. Just four blocks from the gilded edge of Downtown, there are convincing reasons to stay here. Generally speaking, the most I can hope for in a hotel is to be left alone. Luxury marques like the Ritz-Carlton will pester you repeatedly to clean the rooms, while low-end hotels will storm in regardless of the notice on the door. At the Presidio, from my experience, they leave you alone, and sometimes that's the reason you're there--just to be away from the dogs for a weekend. There's a couple markets in the area and online delivery from a variety of places. It's not beachfront central, but if you're like me, you visit Santa Barbara to see family, not live out some Gilligan's Island fantasy. Yelp helped me find this place. They were a cheap option ($89 on a weeknight) in an expensive town. The front office has a very tiny retail shop selling clothing. Nice dude working the counter. Free bikes to use? That was unusual. A sun deck on top with music, also cool. I used neither but others may find it useful. The room was a basic Motel 6 size and layout, but it was painted with a funky design and the lighting fixtures were pretty cool in an IKEA sort of way. Everything was clean but the overall building was out of the 60's. I'm not a fan of the 3 compartment fluid dispenser in the shower (one was empty) or the fact that I could not get the shower hot enough. The sink had super hot water but the shower was way too cold. The bed was comfortable and they had a nice flatscreen TV. The place was also on the north end of Main St. and walking distance to lots of bars and shops. I would recommend this place. cute, quaint motel. It seems like it was a old dorm or camp that was converted into a motel room. It's really cute. They decorated it wall decals and added cute Ikea furniture. It's nothing fancy but very decent for the price (busy weekend of$ 179 that Friday night). You have to tell them if you're coming in to check in late and they will handle it for you. So call them and let them know. We got room 12: the peacock room... cute decor and lights. Notes: * walls are thin * in bathroom, no screen on bathroom window- so bugs can really fly in * motel desk is very hipster * morning time they sell scones from trailer outside * limited parking in motel but if full, park at doctor's office on weekends * wifi is SLOW bc there is no password: Presidio Motel Wireless *lots of hipsters *one of the outlets in room 12 doesnt work * there is only ONE blanket... one thin blanket for two people... really bad... cuz it was cold * tried adjusting thermostat, but its really old and didnt seem to work overall, good for the price, but it has some minor setbacks that I think could be fixed. read more

PRO: We are from the area and still come back often, we so know the local hotels. We thought we'd give this one a try as the price was great and it was across from one of our favorite go-to deli/grocery store (Cantwell's Market and Deli). Also, from this hotel one can walk to: the main part of state street, a nice park, to the courthouse, etc.. and are not in the thick of the State Street traffic. PRO: Nice smallish hotel with a friendly staff--Michael was very supportive as was the manager. We even lost the key (yes, a real key) and Michael had to get dressed and head to the hotel at 11pm to let us in, AND he was still friendly! And they were even supportive of chemical sensitive individuals. PRO: Bedroom was clean and nice and looked recently updated. The king bed was supportive and very comfortable and came with 2 soft and 2 firm pillows and extra throw pillows. And instead of a thin bedspread there was an actual comforter. There was even a nice, full length on the wall mirror (a rarity). PRO: The fridge was in the closet area so the door cold be close to alleviate fridge noise at night. PRO: A/C worked great and there was cross ventilation in case A/C was not desired. PRO: Sun patio CON: Not a real con for us, but I figured I'd add this for balance sake: The grout on the shower floor and on the baseboards is a bit discolored, and the nice paint job in the bathroom could use a touch up as the white primer is showing through on some of the dings. CON: No coffee maker in the room, but we figured that they probably normally have it in the office just not during Covid time. And again Cantwell's , across the street, has coffee. read more

What is going on here? Are these reviews bought? Parking is cramped and limited. They actually run out of parking spots sometimes for the guests, which is bizarre and counterproductive for a hotel. Make sure you don't park in the lot next door, as the hotel does not own it, and you will be towed. We agreed to a late check-in, since we would be arriving close to 10 PM. We were told our room door would be left unlocked and the key placed in the nightstand drawer. However, the key was placed on the bed, in full view of anyone who may have entered our room. The room itself has a ridiculous design. Regarding the window, half is a regular pane. The other half is designed like a shutter, with multiple rectangular glass pieces (see photo). Even when fully closed, there are enormous gaps in between the pieces, so that noise fully filters through. I can clearly hear everything that is going on outside, as if the window weren't there, and I'm sure anyone passing by can hear everything going on inside. Bugs also get in between these shutters, so the hotel has a screen in place to block them, except the screen is falling out and poorly fitted. Oh, and did I mention COVID is much smaller than a bug (hello?) and can be aerosolized? The cold air is also streaming in. The chair I am sitting on to type this has three stains on it (see photo). There aren't easily accessible plugs on both sides of our bed, and even better, the plug closest to the left side of the bed against the adjacent wall does not work (photo). There is yet another enormous opening to the outside in our bathroom that you cannot close fully, covered by a screen door that doesn't fit with a disgusting accumulation of dust across the entire screen (photos x 2). The paint is peeling off the walls in the bathroom (photo). The lock to the bathroom door does not work. After being pushed in, the lock pops right out when anyone attempts to open the door from the outside. There was a pill leftover from a previous patron sitting in the corner of our room on arrival (photo). There is also a disgusting layer of dust tracing the entire perimeter of the room. The shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel dispensers in the shower dispense a pitiful amount of their respective contents with each push, so you end up having to repeatedly mash the dispenser like you're playing a carnival game. At least the internet is decent (40-50 mb/s). The bed is comfortable. The tall mirror in the room is useful. Fast forward to the morning, we are woken up by the sound of a leaf blower, obviously because we essentially have an open window. One of their staff attempts to enter our room (key in the hole, fiddling, about to turn the lock) while we are in bed at 10 am despite my yelling that we are inside. Fast forward to 10:40 AM, they attempt to enter our room again. Check out isn't until 11 AM. Seriously, what is wrong with this place? I have never seen so many things go wrong at a motel. I know this isn't the Hyatt. But can we at least have a room that is clean and windows that can close to offer some shred of privacy? I see that you are trying to spruce things up with these fancy glass bowls housing succulents and a wall-mounted TV. How about investing the money into the basics mentioned above instead? I don't really care that I get to sleep in a room with three different types of cacti. I care that there is essentially a 5'x4' hole in my wall that I can't seal and a lack of attention to sanitation, which are especially egregious during the COVID pandemic! One star. My only regret is that I cannot give negative stars. read more

Attention to detail is what I noticed most... The rooms are really clean, the bed was very comfortable, it does not have a traditional feel at all... The rooms are tastefully designed with a modern feel, Vizio flat screen on the wall, there's a nice sundeck on the second floor. Location is good, not great, but good. We received great recommendations from the owner/host btw... I would definitely go back. read more
