I LOVE Roshi! I won't let anyone else do my lash extensions - and I've been to a LOT of lash technicians. I always got my lashes done in New York City before I found Roshi. You'd expect the best of the best there, right? Then I went to Roshi and was blown away. I've never had lashes that lasted so long! I can easily go six weeks without many gaps - and that's WITHOUT a two-week fill. Such a great value and superb execution of a difficult job. Roshi herself is such a pleasure to spend time with - my appointments really fly by because we have such good conversations. But when I'm tired and just want to take a nash lap, she lets me rest. No forced or awkward conversation, which is a huge plus to an introvert like me. :) I will say that you should make sure you have plenty of time for your appointment, because Roshi is painstaking in her work and will never rush you out just to get a job done. I was used to quick appointments in NYC - which is probably why the lashes never lasted as long as Roshi's! I usually make sure I keep a good cushion of time before and after my appointments so that I don't have to feel rushed. I appreciate that Roshi doesn't try to cram in as many appointments as possible just to make more money. I get a ton of compliments on my lashes and always refer people to Roshi. In short, Roshi is a friendly person and her space is comfortable, but I did not have a good experience with the results of my visit or her business policies. I got a $15.50 Groupon for Roshi's Brow Sculpting and Tint service. When I booked my appt online in April, I selected this service, entered my Groupon, and paid the $25 deposit with the understanding that it would be fully refunded - as stated by her confirmation emails and website at the time ("That deposit will be returned to you if you have already paid through Groupon"). Roshi asked me how I wanted my brows done and I told her that I had never had them done before so I would rely on her expertise to shape and tint my eyebrows, trusting that she would do what looked best for my face shape, etc. After a 45-min session with no further communication, I got up to find my eyebrows twice as large and hardly shaped at all - it looked pretty bad and anyone could see that. Roshi explained that she simply tinted my brows and outlined & filled in my brows following my natural brow line. Which is fine, but it looked horrible and I trust her experience to do better. I understand that I didn't give her much direction, but I can't really know what I don't know. That why I went to a professional for this. I immediately scrubbed the tint off when I got home and it was like I never even received what I paid for. On top of this, I never got my deposit back through PayPal. But instead received an email stating that after May 1, no deposits would be returned. I emailed Roshi and she kindly told me that, as a one time courtesy since I booked prior to May 1, she would issue my return and it would take 3-5 business days. Seven business days later, I still saw no refund so I emailed again. She issued my refund with $7.19 taken out for a "processing fee." She did not inform me of this beforehand and none of this language was mentioned in her prior emails or her website. The thing only there states: "Please be advised if the incorrect option is selected when processing your payment; the deposit & processing fees will be removed prior to the refund." And I did not select the incorrect option when booking. I essentially paid just about full price for a poor service and a lot of frustration. Would not recommend the Groupon; the business practice seems sketchy. And would not recommend her for brow work. Seems like she's better for lashes based on prior reviews. EDIT: She did bring to my attention that I did, in fact, pay for the service instead of a deposit - so, it was incorrect. That just speaks to how cumbersome her scheduling process was. So good on her for changing it, but it could have been done with better communication and less blame on the clients. read more

Just a word of advice. They charge a $10-$25 booking fee to make an appointment. That's IN ADDITION to whatever the service costs. They say they are transparent because it says on the website that "the deposit is nonrefundable." Was very impressed with my first time visit. Roshi is very talented and skilled at what she does. My session was supposed to take at least two hours, (I only learned of this upon arriving since it was my first time ever getting eyelash extensions) So I actually had another appointment scheduled, which would've conflicted with my session, but to my surprise, she finished with me in a little over an hour, and the results were still AMAZING. Initially this would have been a 4 star review. I got a Groupon because of the great reviews, made the appointment (plenty available online and easy to make via the booking system). It is required to make a deposit to make an appointment so keep this in mind. There's no clear separation in $25 deposit and the full service fee so I accidentally was charged $125 (full service) instead of deposit. I immediately contacted the owner who assured me this happens all the time and that I don't need to contact PayPal and would be refunded my full deposit. Fast forward to 3 weeks later when I had my actual appointment. I got the basic, natural faux mink. They looked pretty good though I thought there was some unevenness between the two eyes. My right inner eye was more sparse. I even got the seal to help it last longer. I reminded the owner at the end of my appointment that I was needing my deposit refund and she assured me I would see it in my account within 5 days minus the $10 seal fee. I followed the after care instructions to a T and avoided any eye makeup for a week and still noticed lashes starting to fall out starting about day 3, even when I was cleaning them. About a week later, I had lost around 7-10 lashes and they looked kind of weird and more uneven. Combing them helped but from far it wasn't too obvious so I continued to avoid mascara. Fast fwd a few days after my app, i looked at my PayPal and credit card and noticed I hadn't been refunded and emailed her. She said it should show up soon. About 5 days later, I saw I'd only been refunded $78 of the $125 that I had been charged. When I asked why, she stated they were charged fees by PayPal and thus wouldn't refund me my full amount. I notified her I had contacted her immediately after the deposit was charged and she had assured me at that time as well as during the appointment and again via email after the app I would get my full refund. This was unfair to put her fees and mistakes on customers. If this happens "all the time" then she should make clients aware of this and have told me right away so I could have PayPal cancel or refund me the transaction as they do within 24 hours or I could've contacted Groupon which has great customer service and have always refunded me or give customers credit towards another Groupon. Instead, I received a nasty, unprofessional email in CAPS about customers needing to understand and eat the costs of her mistakes and I should too but that she'll refund me anyways the remaining balance but that I'm banned (yes, banned LOL) from booking with her again. Not a great way of carrying yourself, running a small business (which I love to support and have found great ones through Groupon since I've lived all over the country), and is totally unprofessional. I gave my review on Groupon, but they only give the customer a certain amount of characters and the business owner a Page and a half. She is going to make it seem as if the lashes fell out after I left. Jada also took pics when she was complete, tell her to post them and we can compare if they look a lot better than what I posted then I will apologize. So I'm going to tel the truth because of course in the response it was half the truth of course the other half was to look like I was happy with the service. I bought the 3D volume set with additional $20 for the wispy eye style. I'm trying out new girls because my lash person moved to Baltimore unfortunately. I complained, Jada was going to fix it she wants her work to look great. She spent over 3hours because she was slow which is expected when your a beginner. The Owner told her to stop because she had done enough, without even looking at the work done to see if it was done well. She never asked me anything or spoke to me after Jada begin my lashes. Jada stopped after adding more to the left eye but left the right eye with gaps. I have a lot of lashes, but very short. I know because I have gotten lashes for the last 8 years and was told that over and over again. She abruptly stopped before working more on the other Eye because the owner said so. I can tell she was a beginner because she would of been sure of her work and her responses to the Owner. She asked do you like it? I said "It's better". That doesn't sound like a happy response. What was I going to do sit there complain some more. I'm just not going to go back, I am just going to warn others that it's not worth the money for beginner services, and all the additional fees that you try and charge. I paid my additional $20 as promised no argument. I'm a model customer, all service paid no fight. I just wished they had model customer service and services. Jada was nice just need more practice, the owner was rude from the beginning as if her customer service is not priority. There are pics posted to show the gaps less than 24 hours. The service again said 3D volume set which means every lash that I have needs to have 3 lashes on it. You can't have gaps of every lash has multiple extensions. read more

I had an allergic reaction to the adhesive she used. I was booked for an 11:30am appt to have them removed. I came 10 mins late. she had another client at 12pm. My appointment ran into 12:30. She told me if would take 10-15 mins to get them off. The lash removal process was worse than the actual reaction I was having. She was more concerned about the next client. She had me pay $30 for the lash removal and when I got home there were still lashes left on my eyes when that's specifically is what gave me a reaction. There were clumps of adhesive still left on my natural eyelashes. She told me to go home under hot shower and it'll come out. I tried everything. I contacted the company that makes the adhesive she uses and was told that being I had an allergic reaction my lash technician should've removed all the debris and residue. So I paid for eyelash extension, some sealant she sells for $10, $25 for VIP so I can get the appointment I want and also $30 dollars within 72 hours to take them off and left there with them still on but hard clumps of adhesive that literally took out a few of my natural eyelashes as well as trying to get more extensions off. When I emailed her about this, I have yet to get a reply yet. She was quick to reply me about booking and making her money but she is Ghost. Never again. I had to go to an eye doctor and get prescribed a steroid because she left the remaining adhesive on my eyes which I'm still trying to get the debris off. be mindful ladies. read more
