Due to unfortunate homeless situation in Los Angeles, there were shopping carts and loud conversation seemingly in the room. They did not put soundproof windows in and I was up all night. Absolute disaster, broken air conditioner, concierge did nothing about it after up charging me at the desk just to move to the room. $370 to stay in what was a mildewy, hot room that would be an insult to Motel 6. General manager and manager ignored emails and messages after concierge promised they would make it right. Refused to refund any money via Hotel Tonight. Mind, this was their "best" room in the hotel I paid for. The regular rooms make college frat rooms look like palaces. Tiny and dingy, the only thing this hotel is good for is a place to go if you want to know what staying in literal hell would be like. Their "four star" rating advertised on Google is a flat out lie, and this is the most disreputable, dishonorable hotel I've ever stayed in. Seriously, unless you enjoy a miserable concierge who clearly hates his job and customers, and management looking to scam people into thinking the location means anything (it's on a sketchy part of Sunset near Hollywood), avoid avoid avoid. read more

Sight unseen, we were skeptical but it's an affordable, cute place that is convenient to walk everywhere (we used Waymo at night). Staff was so friendly and helpful. Shared a room with 2 friends so you have to be ok with not much bathroom privacy. The sink is outside the bathroom and the bathroom has a thin frosted door, no fan. Rainhead shower is awesome! Everything pretty clean, no noise. The rooftop area could be cleaned up a bit. Overall it's a good deal for the area. read more

The customer service was absolutely terrible. From the moment I arrived around 1 PM, the receptionist made me feel unwelcome, asking what I was doing there since check-in was only at 4 PM. She was also constantly eating at the reception whenever I passed by, showing no professionalism and no interest in assisting guests. The staff were incredibly unfriendly--they never greeted me, never responded when I said hello or wished them good morning or night, and wouldn't even look at me. The only time I saw a staff member smile was at check-out. The first room I was given was terrible, facing the street and extremely noisy. I requested an upgrade to a second-floor room (room 200), which was slightly better, but I could hear toilets flushing loudly throughout the day. Later, I had to move again to room 104, which looked better at first, but the bathtub leaked water due to a damaged wall around it, the toilet paper holder was broken, and the walls were poorly maintained (see pictures below). When I complained to the receptionist about the bathtub issue, she didn't seem to care at all--she just said "okay" and did nothing to resolve it. The rooftop always had the sofas turned around to prevent guests from using them, making it feel completely unwelcoming. On top of that, they transferred calls to my room without permission waking me up at 2 AM, no less. One day, I had to wait two hours to move to a different room. No one informed me when it was ready, and since the phone in my room was broken, I went to the reception to check, only to be told they had forgotten to inform me that I could just stay in the same room. Overall, the rooms were poorly maintained, with broken amenities, and the customer service was unprofessional and unhelpful. Definitely not worth the stay. read more

Overall the hotel was ok. Decent room. Was pretty disappointed that they advertise a Rooftop bar but it's closed. And has been for several years. There is however still a rooftop patio you can sit on. They also advertise a small bar in the hotel, which you can see from the lobby, but that is also closed and no longer in use. Our room was clean, although I did find a roach crawling on the bathroom sink at one point. The neighborhood isn't the best, so be prepared. They also charge daily for parking, in addition to what you pay for the room. It was ok because it was close to where we needed to be, but I don't think we'd stay a second time. read more

I booked this room because it was the last available in the area. It was $260 which I think was already overpriced for a reconstructed motel but was willing to give it a chance. I checked in, the room was pretty clean other than some food on the handle of the dresser and then as I was going to bed I found a cockroach beside me. I immediately left to the front desk and asked to switch rooms or be compensated so I can find somewhere else to stay, but they were no help. The front desk gave me a blank stare like I was crazy for not wanting to be in a roach infested room. The manager was unwilling to give any compensation, not even a damn apology from any of the workers for their disgusting roach infested hotel. It was definitely not worth the money at all and the workers so completely unhelpful from the manager to the front desk. So disappointed in this hotel. When we arrived we had to pay an unexpected $35 per day to park our car. No toilet paper, no robes, Ice bucket or mini bar as advertised. Not to mention the sticky bathroom floor and no washcloths. Rooftop bar is closed because the bartender is a no show. We are here for 2 nights and can't get the manager to call. Update: Bibian the hotel manager called this morning and will be sending in housekeeping to clean and stock the room. She said the mini bar in the room refrigerator was eliminated during covid and will probably not be restocked. They will be giving us a couple of complimentary beers tonight before our comedy show as well as reimbursing for the parking. I will update again tomorrow when we check out to let everyone know if they came through. read more

We just completed our stay here! The location, being on sunset, was very convenient! It was close to the strip with all the bars and restaurants and then also close to the walk of fame and all the tourist attractions. However, we were not aware the location was under construction, their whole lobby was being renovated so they had a foldable table as their desk in a very crammed area by the elevator. At times the construction was loud, but we were on the second floor so we weren't really bothered by it when we were in our room. Their rooftop bar and restaurant was also closed during our stay. These two things would have been nice to know before booking as it might have changed our hotel choice. The room itself was nice. small but clean and had everything we needed! read more

Don't know why there is so much hate for this hotel lol. I got a cheap rate for my one day staycation. The front desk was helpful, waived my early check in fee, and gave me places to check out. I didn't park there so didn't have to deal with parking fees which was nice. My room was clean, bed was big, and bathroom was spacious. I felt safe and comfortable. Booked a room here last minute online, had to wait quite a few minutes for the front desk clerk wasn't there, it took him about 10 minutes to get there but once there, was helpful with checking us in. When we got to our room we couldn't figure out how to turn on the air, it was a little difficult but the front desk clerk came up to our room to help us.. we thought it was broken, it wasn't. This place cost me much more than the nightly rate. I paid for two nights, used one and spent $400 I didn't have to get my car out of the tow yard. $850 later I'm at the Hilton, wondering what the fuck just happened. Sunday morning EVERY SINGLE car in the parking lot was gone, mine included. These assholes had me towed. Not only that but they were total jackasses about letting me check in early--not even by 24 minutes. Please pick up all of the glass in your fake grass out front of your establishment. I've seen the same broken glass on your property for over a month. I don't bring my dog by there very often.. because of all of the glass, but sometimes I have to and it's always there. If you guys can add fake grass to your hip ass hotel, just keep up after your hip ass establishment. It would take 20 seconds. Yes, I could do it, but I have a large dog with me constantly and I also don't work for your hip ass establishment. And if I have to do it, I'm going to place all of the glass in your glittery, hip parking lot. Or, idk, have some integrity for the place that you thrusted into the community. I'm a So-Cal native, so it's rare to stay in Hollywood, but we were there for a mid-week wedding and didn't want to drive far afterwards, so we planned ahead. Checkin/ check out - it was smooth and easy! They put a $100 hold on your card, even though the room was already paid for, but they return it quickly after you check out. They were polite, friendly and thorough. Check out was a breeze and when provided a receipt it was both emailed and printed. I had also received text messages confirming my room reservation and also thanking me for staying there. So overall it was pleasant! Parking: it's a $38 fee, but you get a tag to put on your dashboard and park in their parking lot. When we went during the week, there were only 3 other cars, so it was great to not have to worry about street parking. The room: the elevator to the 2nd floor was clean and smooth, and so were the hallways. Everything was in full functioning order, and it was pretty modern. The room itself was small, but it was only for sleeping and showering, so no complaints. The windows had electric blinds that totally blocked out the sun, which was amazing! So the next day we definitely accidentally slept in! The room had plenty of places for charging phones, and outlets for the iron as well. The room came equipped with an iron, ironing board and hairdryer as well (all came in handy). The bathroom though small, had a huge modern shower with your choice of using a regular shower head or a rainfall shower head. They even had the bottles of shampoo, and soap on a dispenser for you in the shower. Love that convenience. The AC was a little loud, but honestly, it was fine because it drowned out any halllway or street noise. Overall, this is a great spot to stay, near many of the highlights of Hollywood, right on Sunset! I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to stay directly in Hollywood for a day or two. read more

Robert is not only the most helpful and patient agent I've experienced here at the hotel but he will make sure when dealing with third party booking that you are getting exactly what you were quoted and paid for. |HOUSEKEEPING| The reason for the three stars is because of the cleanliness in the overall in the rooms. If you are a germaphobe this might not be the place for you. The toilet has stains that could only be fecal matter. The floors seem to have some kind of gunk. A towel I had pulled off the rack had light dirt residue. |PARKING| But for the rates I feel the cleaning can improve a bit. I understand the other posts when they feel paying for parking can be a little much, but from my experience with hotels there's generally a few for parking on the premises. The hotel is beautifully upgraded, convenient and easy access off Sunset Blvd. the rooms are nice and the prices are decent comparable to other hotels in the area for what you're getting, but typical LA service seems that employees forget to mention when you're getting charged for things such as parking. I was charged for parking 7 days after my reservation and when I called to ask about the charge the guy on the phone was essentially calling me a liar and that I knew about the parking fee; maybe that's why they didn't want us to buy the bottles of water at the front desk---they knew they were sneaking a payment on parking charges. I'd stay here again but would just recommend asking for clarification on charges before signing anything. In terms of the room itself, everything was great except the blinds which are either black out or essentially no privacy; and when the room is facing Sunset Blvd and the hotels parking lot and outside bar, you don't get to enjoy the natural sunlight. read more

Stayed there for 3 nights for a work gig and have to say, this hotel was great! The service staff are incredibly nice and attentive and I felt the decor was a perfect Hollywood vibe without being too upscale. Plus there is a bar on the roof that I felt had better drinks and atmosphere then most of the bars in the area. Was great to relax outside with a drink, watch the sun go over the Hollywood hills and then take a short walk to my room. The rooms have a fun and interesting style to them with bright pops of color without feeling tacky or too modern. Over all, I'd definitely recommend this place! read more

Hmm, I am trying very hard to be generous and as much as I want to give it 4 stars, I stuck with 3 because it was really just an OK experience. You get what you pay for with this hotel, so don't expect anything fancy or any extras. It is what it is. We got checked in and the people at the front desk are really nice and accommodating. 5 stars for the service; I will give them that. All you need to do is pick up keys and get into your room. Easy. Our room was really cute, but we had a couple "incidences" with it. For starters, they are very stingy with towels. We don't need a bunch of towels (they're a huge waste of money, anyway), but clearly they gave a set for one person. I had to call the front desk to get an extra bath towel so my boyfriend could take a shower. Nice that we got two hand towels upon entrance of our room but not two bath towels. Our TV was fine but towards the early evening we were having issues with the cable box. It would not read the signal and kept freezing/blacking out on us. My boyfriend got very frustrated using it and gave up at 8pm. We didn't bother calling front desk since it was late, anyway. Lastly, the walls and doors are thin. At 12am we could hear a loud and rambunctious party walking through the halls while we were sleeping. It is very annoying, but I don't think I can blame the hotel for that. Maybe it was those jerks with the illegally parked SUV which we saw got ticketed the next day. BTW, this lot is SMALL and it's $22 a night. I don't believe they sell off all the spots, but if you are driving a huge vehicle, it can be very tricky to park. I don't drive a huge car, but there were several SUVs and vans that parked over the lines because the spaces are a tight fit. I noticed one spot was unused because the 2 SUVs next to it made it impossible to use. Make sure you pick a spot that is easy to get in and out of because if you pick the wrong spot, there is a chance you will be blocked in because of someone's huge a** SUV. Thankfully I was never blocked in because if I were, I would've had a major field day. Otherwise, I'd recommend parking on the side streets at night when it is free and not metered. Anyway, it wasn't a super bad experience. The room was super clean and the amenities were awesome. I loved the shower and mini fridge and liked the blackout curtains. Also, when our TV did work, they had a great selection of programs to watch, plus wifi is free! Just make sure you don't have high expectations and you'll enjoy it. read more

We are here for an overnight stay and I must say it was very nice for a Friday night. The art on the walls (Bowie and Hendrix) Caught my eye eye away. It has a pop of color and abstract lines as well. The room was clean and again a pop of color, PURPLE! Does PRINCE own this place?! I though it was nice. They have Direct TV in the room, plenty of HBO channels not just 2. The rooftop bar has happy hour and plenty of seating, the only thing missing was some chill music or a DJ to get more people up there. But over all it was enjoyable watching the sunset. Keep in mind the hotel only has about 60? Rooms so you can't expect it to be packed. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would come back again and stay longer. read more

I took away 3 stars because I was billed$59 for checking in at 3:30 instead of 4pm without being advised of that. Had i been told, ofcourse I would have waited or gone out to eat first etc. This was on Feb 16. I believe the polite person got distracted and forgot to mention it, I hope. The manager was called same day and after by staff and I was told I would be refunded. 3 weeks later no refund. everything else was fine, but do be on the lookout for that check in fee, it adds alot to the price. read more

I'm on the fence about this one... For the money, this is a good hotel in an area that is typically filled with overpriced tourist hotels. It's tough to justify giving it four stars, however, given challenges with noise and service that I experienced. I would rate the a solid 3.5 star hotel. Checkin took a long time as there was another guest in front of me and they were trying to figure out where to put her. The two at the front desk went back and forth for a while and never even acknowledged that I was there, which felt odd. When it was finally my turn, the girl and I disagreed as to whether my room as pre-paid or not (it was - I booked it on Hotels Tonight). After some back and forth, she started reprimanding the other guy working the desk telling him that my account wasn't noted property and that it was his fault. All well and good, but I really just wanted to check into my room. Then, surprisingly, halfway through the checkin process, the girl got up and left and asked the guy to to come and complete the checkin for me. I then saw the girl leaving on break or maybe to end her shift. Either way, checkin could have been smoother. The rooms themselves are very nice. Modern, with a well-thought-out layout, beautiful jacuzzi tubs, modern showers and separate WC room. All rooms have nice TV and Keurig coffee maker, along with a tiny desk space and comfortable leather lounging chair. Beds use high quality linens and pillows. Toiletries are out of pump bottles, which are a bit of pet peeve of mine, but no big deal. Common areas are modern and very, very clean. I did not have a chance to use the rooftop bar / restaurant. On the downside, this room was very, very noisy. I could hear housekeeping chatting all morning and any noise that happened in the hallway sounded like it was in my room. Furthermore, I had some challenges with housekeeping. I used their in-room tablet system to request more towels and, unfortunately, they never arrived. Furthermore, I left my room at 8am the morning of checkout to bring things to my car and have breakfast, only to find that the room was halfway turned over (bed stripped, bathmat thrown on the vanity, etc.) even through I hadn't checked out. All in all, the negatives were rather minor, but I might think twice about staying here again until I had a really great rate. read more
