I came back to the Providence Flea on August 11th around 11 am. In August from 10 am - 3 pm, the Providence Flea is located at 195 District Park across from 225 Dyer Street. Jade's Gems is one of the many vendors. When we came last time, my friend purchased a bracelet made with high-quality semi-precious stones. Each stone has its own energy, for example Rose Quartz is great for emotional healing and strengthening relationships. Jade's Gems also repairs bracelets, either purchased from her store or from elsewhere. My husbands bracelet that we bought from Hawaii broke so we bought it to her to get it fixed. The repair was $5 and it was ready in 10 minutes. Stop by her booth and check out her bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and more. She is very friendly. Another vendor I checked out was Mrs Liu Handmade who sells knitted bouquets and crochet figures. All the figures are so cute and I want to buy them all. There is also Encanto Cookies who developed the idea of fusing traditional cookie flavors with Latin flavors. We had the Ube Coconut cookie for $4.00 and Red Velvet Nutella (Stuffed) for $5.00. The Ube Coconut cookie had ube with fresh coconut. The Red Velvet Nutella cookie is a chewy red velvet cookie filled with Nutella filling. Both cookies were very soft and good. I am looking forward to getting Encanto Cookies again. read more

Great Sunday outdoor activity! Lots of vintage items or homemade crafts. Cool downtown vibe.

Really really loved going here! Was surprised at the dense amount of tents and vendors here in such a relatively small space. First, such an eclectic and well rounded hodgepodge of stuff - from art, to handmade crafts of all kinds, to plants and flowers, records and comics, clothes, vintage and antique items, they pretty much have it. If you're used to a flea market with heaps of secondhand junk mixed with even junkier random stuff from China this is NOT that kind of flea. The PVD flea seems like a spot where craftspeople and artists meet to provide their goods to the greater community. This is an awesome spot to get gifts for family and friends but actually probably even better to just get gifts for yourself. Some of the treasures we picked up were handmade doggy bandanas, an art print, an amaaaszzzzing cinnamon babka from buns bakery, and some hometown poke bowls. Delicious. While all the tents for vendors are located on the grass, there are maybe 8-12 food vendors parked along the street. Across the pedestrian bridge was a beer garden and 2 or 3 more food trucks. Would totally come here again for just the food haha, but the flea tents were awesome too. Can't wait to come back! read more

I have always loved this flea market and it's variety - first time post COVID. It was great to see one way traffic, hand sanitizer all over, vendors with gloves if you want to touch things, someone verbally doing a symptom check, counting number of people there to limit numbers, and passing out masks which are mandatory. There were six foot markers in front of food vendors as well. . Dog friendly. One vendor was giving away treats and another had a water bowl she would refill with fresh water. read more

The PVD Flea has an incredible Fall Market happening October through November! All sorts of vendors dressed up in costume selling vintage goods, crafts, handmade items, thrifted/upcycled items, all sorts of unique finds! There are also food trucks, and a boozy beverage truck! Definitely worth checking out! Parking is also exceptionally easy to come by as they have a large parking lot in the rear! Many restaurants throughout and shops nearby as well! read more

Lovely spot to be in the warm weather! Held at Gardner Jackson Park/the Providence River Greenway, this flea market has vendor after vendor selling a variety of vintage clothing, antiques, crafts, and more! Plenty of parking on the street (or in the Wild Colonial lot I found myself in) this market is an easy in and out. Food trucks such as Like No Udder, Fusion Gourmet, Plouf Plouf, and the like line the street for a quick bite to eat. Shuffle through the grass with the cool ocean breezes whipping through your hair while you peruse the unique fare... Bring your kids, pets, and friends! Take a break by dangling your legs over the river's edge or rest on one of the benches lining the small boardwalk. I will likely return for a Bit & Little Bit vendor t-shirt stating "Rhode Island: 3% Bigger at Low Tide" cause it's just so cool :-D Open 10-4, rain or shine, through August 25th!!! I have been a artisan at the Providence Flea for a few years now, the promoter Maria is amazing! First of all, the marketing is incredible! She uses all social media platforms and has an incredible following! She also is strict with weights when the flea is outside and I think this is VERY important after seeing many tents blow over and have other artisan creations be destroyed! I have built an amazing clientele at the flea and have met great artisan friends there also, I also look forward to the next year vending there! I love this Flea Market - sure, it's not the seedy heaps of off-cast stuff you'd find on a corner in NYC or a drive-in movie theater lot in Wellfleet, but a higher-end, upscale gathering of vintage, thrift, artisan and crafts vendors in a beautiful setting in a burgeoning city. I love it! In addition to all the clothing, jewelry and crafts, there's a flower seller, which I just love. This past Sunday they had oodles of gorgeous peony in bloom, and coupled with the brilliant sunshine and warm summer weather, I was in heaven. The Providence River bring a nice breeze, making it a pleasant place to meander for a while on a hot summer Sunday. I love the addition of food trucks - probably more than I have ever seen in any other spot at the same time here in Providence. There's plenty of parking between the street, Bacaro's lot (it's free and empty on SUndays) and the South Main St spaces. I highly recommend coming to peruse this lovely market - it's a ton of fun and a very welcome addition to the PVD scene! read more

As long as you don't expect a typical flea market, you'll be happy. The people here are vendors, artists and craftspeople selling their goods. There are also plenty of antique and vintage dealers selling all the cool duds that THEY probably found at traditional flea markets. It's a wonderful little market in a scenic location (on the water) with an assortment of delicious food trucks on hand. It's dog-friendly and there are a few dog treat vendors. Lots of the vendors have dog bowls which is nice. A great addition to the Providence artist community and those of us who like having central places to meet and buy from them. read more

The Providence Flea should be a must on your list of summer things to do in the city on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Plenty of vendors, without it being too overwhelming, all offering unique finds. I wouldn't say that it's a flea market, although there are a couple of vendors offering the flea market type of items, it's more of an art fair/festival as most of the vendors there are selling their handmade items. But beautiful and unique handmade items they are! Per usual, lots of jewelry, candles, clothing, accessories and such. There are also a slew of awesome food trucks lined up on the street. I checked out the Providence Flea this past Sunday to find a treasure trove of hand crafted jewelry, vintage clothes and an array of unique local goods. This ain't your grandmother's flea market though. First it's got a bit of a hipster vibe. Second there's more treasure than trash. Third...food trucks. There was quite a few of them lined up that day. I got to sample some yummy fusion food from Fugo (try the tempura shrimp lettuce wraps!) and ice cream from Like No Udder. As for the location, plenty of free parking available and the location by the river is so nice especially on a hot summer day. My dog also appreciate the bowls of water at the flea market too. I'm just hoping there will be more vendors setting up tents in the future as I like to see a mix of different things. Tip: - Cash is King (not all vendors including food trucks accept major CC) - Bring your sun parasol and glasses if you anti-sun like me or you will melt faster than a chocolate sundae from Like No Udder! - There are some nice shady spots to eat by the river but remember the wind factor. read more

The Providence Flea offers an array of vendors that range from the outlandish to the more reserved finds that you may have not even thought about wanting (or gifting) such as a Polaroid camera collection or a hand stitched doll. There is also a plethora of food trucks and live music, so it is easy to make a fun afternoon at the Flea with the family. Even if you can't find the gift or item that you are looking for, it makes for great "window" shopping. I am always amused of the quirky items that I see on the rows of tables and displays. The Providence Flea is one of those places that you can spend hours at without even noticing. I've visited a couple of times prior to COVID, but finally got the chance to go this past weekend. I'd go to the Providence Flea every week if I lived closer. I was still a bit underwhelmed. Compared to the other flea markets I've been to it was a bit small. I went the 2nd week & it seemed every other vendor was selling jewelry. There were a few booths with vintage clothing & antique home goods. They do rotate booths every week so I'm hoping they'll have better variety in the future. I'd go back for the food trucks alone. I had an amazing grilled cheese from Fancheezical, had some PVD pudding pops & had a great chai latte from Presto Chango coffee. They rotate food truck vendors too. What a beautiful day to kick off the opening day for The Providence Flea! Wow, so much to say... Vintage, Antique, Hipster, and Up-cycling all unite on the Providence South Main Street River Green Way! For the past few weeks, I have have anxiously been awaiting for June 2 to check out this venue, and I can say I did not leave disappointed! I scored a silver plated piece of jewelery fashioned out of silverware by the Olive Spoon Studio. I must say this was a one of my favorite vendors/tents. I talked to this vendor and they will be setting up shop here again, so I might make my way down again for some adorable spoons for birthday gifts that I can pop in the mail, or a impromptu bridal gift - because every couple deserves a pair of forks that say "Mr. and Mrs." on them! As a recycling enthusiast (no joke, I take that ish seriously!) I really loved the vendor Providence Plastic Project. While I did not buy anything this time, their vision is great and I wouldn't mind owning a wallet with a funky design! - Maybe next time! On to...CURBSIDE reCYCLES...if you dig bikes like myself, you must check this vendor out, and at the very least talk to the owner James because he's ready to keep you in mind for a particular bike if he doesn't have what you're looking for. He's also very knowledgeable and can offer some great advice for your current wheels! So much jewelry, vintage clothing, clutches, furniture, oh and I CANNOT forget the ever amazing food trucks galore (heaven). While, I personally, loved this event, I think some people may be disappointed mainly due to the fact that the words "flea" is attached to it. If you're going for a "flea market" deal, this may or may not be up your alley - you will not find your old VHS player, boxes of old screwdrivers, or knockoff purses here! I found most vendors to be on the high-end scale, with less clutter than what I know as I know as flea market. If you can wrap your head around it being more of an outdoor artisan venue, it might help you decide if this is your type of place. I say, go with an open mind, explore, learn, and maybe you'll leave owning something you never thought you would! This is the place to meet your local artisans that may have not made it to a store front yet, and I have a great appreciation for all of the artists/vendors that keep on working hard doing what they love. I am a true flea shopper, and I will hunt down vintage items and furniture--but the Providence Flea disappointed me. I'm also spoiled from going to Charlestown for their flea market ever since I was a kid. Most of the vendors there sold jewelry, and I did see a few favorites from the Scituate Art Festival, but I was disappointed in that many of the items were curios and nothing really unique. There was a vendor selling herbs and tomato plants though which was interesting. I might check this flea market out every couple of weeks, but it won't be a weekly staple. There were quite a few food trucks which was great, as I visited my personal favorite--Noble Knots--and there is plenty of space by the riverside to sit and enjoy the weather. Pet Peeve--many people bring their dogs to these events, and the dogs just seem miserable and hot. There's nothing wrong with enjoying your canine friend, but keep in mind that it might be overwhelming for them! read more

Let's be clear, it's not a flea market folks. You won't find vast tables cluttered with nicknacks and lovely randomness. BUT. Get past the false advertising, because this event is worth visiting. More like a community fair, without the face painting booth. Imagine two rows of small tents, maybe 20 in all, and you walk down the middle of it. We walked through the whole thing in maybe 30 minutes. Vintage clothing, handmade jewelry/ ceramics/ some antique finds/ some local companies represented (animal rescue, some recycling programs for bikes/plastic, Etc.). All in all a great way to get to know your Providence a little better. *Some Tips: Bring cash (some tents, not all, took cards) Dogs allowed Right on the river, sunny with wind potential Food Trucks abundantly present along the curb. I'm a big fan of the Providence Flea. It's a great, eclectic mix of antiques, homemade arts, jewelry, food, soap -- anything you might be looking for. It really grew in size as the summer wore on -- comparing the first one we went to in July v. mid-September, it was much more of an 'event'. I've found some great things there, purchased gifts, and have been able to try out several of PVD's amazing food trucks. I'm looking forward to its return next year. read more

I was psyched for the beautiful location and the myriad food trucks lined up and all the pups everywhere but....it was NOT a flea market. It's a craft fair and a small one at that. I feel the people running the show did so much advertising for months leading up to opening day and there was so much hype but when I got there, I felt like someone just popped my balloon and thought to myself, "womp. womp" Two stars may seem harsh but it wasn't a flea market like I was really hoping for and I still think Providence needs a good flea market and even when taken at face value of a craft fair, it was definitely, "meh". I heard a lot of hype before coming to the Providence Flea so unfortunately I had high expectations. This did not meet my expectations basically by size & variety but I think it's a cute way to spend an hour or so and I would do it again. I did purchase a few items all in the spirit of haggling which most vendors welcomed. I did notice a few craft vendors too. Afterwards the food trucks were there to keep us busy a little while longer. It's so pretty by the water! read more

After sitting outside of Hope Highschool for a confusing 10 minutes on a Saturday before I realized the Flea is only open on Sundays, I was able to come back the net weekend and really check it out. I found that the vibe of this Flea was very different from the summer one, but not necessarily in a bad way. There was a live duo playing that could be heard at a pleasant volume throughout the Flea and the vendors were all friendly and helpful. I did find that this one had more of the artists aspect to it, along with the vintage vendors. I also found that the prices seemed more reasonable than the summer one. There were 2 food trucks parked outside, but with the cold, I stuck to the inside. I walked away with a few unique Christmas gifts and some items that I regret not buying.... really just an excuse to go back. There was a mixture of vendors who accepted credit cards and cash, so be prepared with some cash just in case. read more

One of the greatest things about Providence is that for a city of its size, there's always something to do if you know where to look. At least over the summer. Sure, many of these things revolve around drinking and music or arts and crafts, but they're generally free and a good way to get out of your house and see all the people you saw at last weekend's thing. The Flea is not for bargain-hunters, power-shoppers, or super serious antiquers. It's not a long-distance destination like the Brimfield Antique Show, and it's not a place to get amazing deals on stuff that fell off a truck (that's what Building 19 is for). The Flea is an activity, not a destination. It's part of a great lazy Sunday in Providence. Allow me to explain how to properly enjoy the Providence Flea. Stumble down from the East Side or West End to your favorite breakfast spot like Olga's, Succotash, or The Brickway. Nurse Saturday night's hangover (courtesy of The E&O, The Wild Colonial, or Wickenden Pub) with a Bloody Mary and some delicious pancakes. Feeling better and only slightly day-drunk, it's time to stroll through the Providence Flea. You'll see local artisans selling their crafts alongside a few booths selling vintage clothes, 'upcycled' furniture and knick-knacks, and a few booths of random junk. There's no parking hassle or high-pressure jerks, just friendly folks, smiles, nice weather, and lots and lots of dogs. If you're there long enough you may want to grab something from one of the many local food trucks parked on the side of the road. Then it may be time to wander over to The Cable Car, Cafe Zog, or The Coffee Exchange to caffeinate yourself and read a bit before inevitably winding up at The Hot Club for "just one beer" on their deck overlooking the river. Convince yourself that you've only been there for an hour or so until the sun actually touches the horizon. That, ladies and gentleman, is how you Providence. read more

I was very pleased with my first trip to the Providence Flea this past weekend. The weather was gorgeous and I love the location! It is a magnet for food trucks, many I had heard about but had yet to spot around Providence! There was a great mix of the typical flea market fare and other hand made crafts/jewlery. A cool highlight was the guy selling old boardgames and toys. It was fun to reminisce about games/toys from my childhood I had long forgotten. I know it is a new event for the area, so I hope to see it grow and attract more vendors. I hope to return in the months to come! read more

I had been looking forward to going to The Providence Flea all week - and I had a great time! Antiques, hand blown glass, flowers, food trucks, ice cream, jewels...all outside in the beautiful summer sunshine by the river!? Feel free to bring your pooch along too! I was hesitant, but after seeing all the other dogs that were there I wish I had brought him - he would have loved it too. Be prepared for a wait if you order lunch from a food truck, it was really busy so understandable. AND... I bought the most gorgeous peonies there but the fresh flowers go fast, so if you want some you have to get there early! I will be back again - my kitchen table will need more fresh flowers - and my dog really wants to go too!! read more

We checked out the Flea at its indoor location at Hope High School. It's a super cute market, but I think it's kind of misleading to call it a flea, because it's really more high end crafts and antique level stuff than the type of garage sale style stuff I associate more with a flea. That said, I love this stuff as well, so I was not so much disappointed as surprised. I was super psyched to find Bare Hand Creations here- they make these amazing handmade bracelets from leather and beads and stones and can size the bracelets right in front of you to ensure the perfect fit! I love this as I have super small wrists and always have a hard time finding bracelets that are small enough. There was also a great soap vendor here as well as lots of jewelry, local flair items and some vintage vendors. It reminded me more of the SOWA market in Boston than any flea I've ever been to. I think they should consider changing the name, which might attract more people who are in to what this market really is, a craft/ vintage market. There were a lot of food trucks parked outside in the parking lot, but it was kind of cold and we'd already had brunch, so we didn't try any of them. read more

I LOVE the Providence flea. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because some of the vendors are a little pricey and some of the antiquey type vendors are not what I'm interested in. There are lots of vintage clothes seller which I love, and tons of jewelry vendors, if you're an earring aficionado like myself. My personal favorite vendor is Duque SkateArt. Steve makes pens, keychains, coasters (skoasters), jewelry and tons of other things from upcycled skateboards, and he makes it locally in downtown Providence. He also sells beautiful photographs that he takes. if you're looking for something to do on Sundays this summer, stop by, rain or shine! read more
