We checked out the Flea at its indoor location at Hope High School. It's a super cute market, but I think it's kind of misleading to call it a flea, because it's really more high end crafts and antique level stuff than the type of garage sale style stuff I associate more with a flea. That said, I love this stuff as well, so I was not so much disappointed as surprised. I was super psyched to find Bare Hand Creations here- they make these amazing handmade bracelets from leather and beads and stones and can size the bracelets right in front of you to ensure the perfect fit! I love this as I have super small wrists and always have a hard time finding bracelets that are small enough. There was also a great soap vendor here as well as lots of jewelry, local flair items and some vintage vendors. It reminded me more of the SOWA market in Boston than any flea I've ever been to. I think they should consider changing the name, which might attract more people who are in to what this market really is, a craft/ vintage market. There were a lot of food trucks parked outside in the parking lot, but it was kind of cold and we'd already had brunch, so we didn't try any of them. read more

I LOVE the Providence flea. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because some of the vendors are a little pricey and some of the antiquey type vendors are not what I'm interested in. There are lots of vintage clothes seller which I love, and tons of jewelry vendors, if you're an earring aficionado like myself. My personal favorite vendor is Duque SkateArt. Steve makes pens, keychains, coasters (skoasters), jewelry and tons of other things from upcycled skateboards, and he makes it locally in downtown Providence. He also sells beautiful photographs that he takes. if you're looking for something to do on Sundays this summer, stop by, rain or shine! read more

I don't really understand all the hype about the Flea. I went with a friend on a hot Sunday afternoon and now that I've gone once, I'm all set. I enjoyed being outside and milling about but It's alot of vendors selling vintage wears and goods but in my opinion, it's alot of crap and not so low prices. I'd rather scour yard sales and antique stores/consignment shops. Even the food at the food trucks was disappointing. Disclaimer: I know that the vendors change pretty regularly so it may have been this particular Sunday and the 90 plus degree weather may have made me cranky. read more

Like others have said, this is not a flea market in the typical sense. Rocky Hill was a flea market. This is more like the Gaspee days arts and crafts Festival. I saw nothing that peaked my interest. I did however enjoy the food trucks and the beautiful views of the Providence River. It's too bad because this is the perfect place to have an outdoor flea market. read more

Everything that you knew and loved about the Providence Flea outdoors has moved into Hope High School for the winter. Thank you Maria and team for bringing this gem to Providence. Maybe it was just for the holidays, but I totally dug the mix of more traditional flea market venders and independent artists and entrepreneurs selling their jewelry, soaps, food, etc. It was like flea meets the indoor farmer's market. Ample parking in the back. More than 5 foodtrucks there last Sunday! Bathrooms inside a bonus. Missing those lovely waterfront views... but we can wait until spring. read more

I always enjoy a good Flea market, especially one with food trucks! They have it nice and organized right on the waterfront, be careful about those breezes though. I know it is new, but the one drawback I have it seems to focus more on vintage clothing than a plethora of goods/shops. However I am sure that will change over time. Great spot for a summer Sunday adventure! Local artists and food trucks abound this is a great place to discover handmade jewelry, fair trade clothing, antiques, and browse with friends. People love to bring their dogs so not a bad place for puppy socialization either. Right on the providence canal which makes for a nice backdrop! Really nice location, good food trucks. I enjoy checking it out on sunny days, but to be honest if you are looking for antiques, you will probably be disappointed. You will find a good collection of "vintage" junque and accessories. If that's your thing, you should have a good time browsing the market. Just don't expect a lot of period antiques. read more

This place is a great way to spend some time on a Sunday! It's not a typical flea market, it's more like an upscale fair, but they have really cool stuff and there is a lot of different types of vendors. There are also a bunch of food trucks so you can sample from Providence's finest! The view of the river is also beautiful. OK, I admit I mostly come here for the nice walk and the food trucks. However, there is usually a good selection of "stuff" from used clothing (calling it "vintage" is a creative leap in many cases) to homemade crafts made from beach glass. I see some of the same vendors here and at the farmer's market. All around a good vibe and lovely way to spend an afternoon meandering through and grabbing lunch. read more

This is the most organized market in RI. The vendors chosen are always unique and there's a great variety of local artists as well as vintage pieces, and even taxidermy/animal skulls. I love love love the PVD flea, it's the best way to spend a Sunday in our little pretty city. read more

Like it's namesake city, this Flea is small, eclectic, and artsy. A nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon out in the sunshine. Yes, not all of the fare is particularly amazing and most of the 'antique' stuff you could find at any yard sale or antique store, but it's the location and atmosphere that make the Providence Flea. The crafts/jewelry for sale is a pretty good array of stuff and the vendors seem to change from week to week which means you'll find new things with each visit. The super bonus of the Flea is the line up of Providence's best food trucks ready to serve up some lunch for you to enjoy by the water as you watch the kayaks and gondolas float by. read more

I was so excited for this and have been every Sunday. I decided I'm giving this event a chance because I really want it to work for Providence. We need more cool events and I think this will quickly become one of them. I went this past Sunday (6/23) and there were more than 40 vendors, an amazing row of food trucks and carts, it was a gorgeous sunny day and packed--everyone seemed to be having a good time. I had a delicious order of nime chow from LotusPepper and an iced espresso from GoSpresso and a PVD Pop which was a lifesaver in Sunday's heat! The vendors were all pretty friendly and enjoying being there which I take as a good sign. Their Facebook page gives the best feel for what it's really all about. This is not a 'flea market' in the typical sense, although they say plainly on the web site it's an upscale market based on the Brooklyn Flea, which is a combination of upcycled and recycled with vintage and antiques. I think it has potential to be a solid community event with much cooler vendors than you'd find at a gross flea market selling crap on the Speedway. I also like that they give free booths to non-profits. With an awesome location on the river, this can only get bigger and better. I say Go to the Flea! read more

The Providence Flea is a great way to spend your Sunday. The thing I like the most is the diverse selection it has to offer, vintage to new, something for everyone. This past Sunday I saw a wide variety of items from a pair of dice from the original Dunes Casino to beautiful glass light fixtures. Another great thing about the Flea is that is helping to support Little Rhody's economy by featuring so many local vendors and also making good use of the space next to the boardwalk that has been just sitting there empty.
