I love the fillmore. I'm really starting to rack up the shows I've seen there. This time around we…read moresaw zakk Sabbath and black label society... love me some zakk wylde. I've also seen: L7, anthrax, that guy who does "the cliffs of dover," black label society (yes, again... on new years eve)... shit... I'm sure there were others... The cool thing about the fillmore is that it's general admission, so the tickets won't cost you an arm... and they have amazing, wheelchair accessible balcony seats upstairs. The staff is super friendly and accomodating. And there are tons of places to eat, before the show, in the neighborhood. The fillmore is definitely one of my favorite concert venues.

The Fillmore is an excellent venue for live music. Why I like it:…read more*The acoustics here are really good *The sightlines are decent, there are a few spots near the back that can be hard to see from during a sold out show but these can be avoided with some adjustments *Entering is quick and easy thanks to the number of staff they employ and the early communication of these staff members *Parking is nearby (and some nights free of charge). *The Fillmore has a great setup for merchandise and meeting the band without disrupting the flow of the current peformers *The bathroom being downstairs is also a plus as the lines, if there are any, won't feed out into the crowd like at some venues. Overall, this is a really good place to see a show.

One of the best theaters in America. Period. I don't mean that because they have lay-flat seats or…read morethe best concessions or do screenings in Imax. No, they don't have any of those things. AFI is a delight because they provide access to an incredible catalog of films and, as a cinephile, you'll find yourself consuming them with fellow addicts. How often have I come here for something like a 1940s Italian neorealist black and white on a weeknight and felt to myself like here with these people I belonged? You can't beat it. This is a theater that takes film seriously, that loves film. It doesn't really matter if I drive or metro, it's a hike either way...and yet I just keep coming back more and more often because there aren't many treasures of DMV arts and culture that beat AFI.

Different equipment associated with film making from decades ago and the information about them displayed through out. They have a rewards program that I signed up for while there awaiting the movie to start and the manager was not then happy to tell me about. They seek adult beverages as well which is nice and I was able to get my unsalted popcorn which was awesome but it did come in a smaller portion size than what I'm used to. The movie was a lot better than I had expected and I loved they had Christy and the screen writers there. What an awesome opportunity this was.

This review of the takoma parking campus is based on my experience while I was there from 2016-2018 and not anywhere if any new update to the campus. When comparing the 3 Montgomery College campuses the takoma park campus is the most outdated and old. On one side of the campus you got old building for all the majors and on the other side you have a newer building for all the health science majors. There is a pedestrian bridge that connect the two side together and below is a metro rail. The campus has vending machine and a computer lab where you can go to do work on the computer. There is garage parking on both side of the campus and sometime there is crime of breaking into car and stealing valuable if you leave them in your car. My car got scratches when I parked in the garage. The teachers I had for my anatomy class & sociology were very good when I took them at this campus. All in all, unless you are majoring in the health science majors or looking for a specific professor for your class then I wouldn't recommend coming to this campus compare to the other 2 MC locations.

The prices seem WAY more expensive, and they up-charged for the table-balance things. Last year, those were free (and they were penguins - I did like these tables more.). We paid something like $80 for a family of four - admission, skate rental, and two balancers. Also, the skates were extremely oddly designed. I have never seen skates with laces so short before. I couldn't wrap them around the ankle of the boot, and as such they were very loose - so much so that I had to go down two sizes, at which point they were just pinching my feet. My kids also complained that they were too loose and then too tight. Finally, we started very soon after they opened and the rink was already difficult to skate on because of all the marks on it. We didn't see the zamboni until we were leaving, around 11:30. They really needed to use it earlier. I don't think we'll come back here to skate anymore.

Prices are pretty expensive - I was charged $13 for admission without renting skates. At the Wheaton Ice arena, you can get admission and skates for this price. I saw a mom who paid $36 for two kids to enter and skate! Plus, the rink is not as well-kept. On multiple occasions, the ice is quite rough to skate on, because they aren't Zamboni-ing properly or often enough. I probably won't be back anytime soon.
