Zero stars!!! Bought the cutest puppy last week... but on the 1 week vet visit, was told this puppy has genetic issues. Tried calling store over 15 times that day.. said call couldn't be completed... since the puppy was financed, the finance company had to give me the name and number of the owner...Richard Pena... I left him a message... was ignored... I finally emailed them and got a call back... lady was repugnant at best! Rude and smirky... stating that I signed for the puppy and it's mine... she insisted on overpowering the conversation..that wasn't going to happen with me... so she stated that since I'm not letting her speak, ( to reiterate how it's now my problem I have a dog with genetic reproductive issues...) that she was hanging up. She hung up. Then she texted me to read my contract and invited me to reach out to the Nevada advocacy. I needed no invite.. I will be filing a complaint with all gov entities and will be filing a chargeback for the nearly $3,000.00 they took from me. This issue was easily identifiable if the puppy had been seen by a reputable vet. If they had disclosed the matter up front, that also would have been avoidable. Now, I cannot breed this puppy ... see screenshot of their text vs our vet medical notes! They absolutely do not care! This place needs to be shut down! Shame on them! Hope they are ready to deal with their unethical business practices! And they will not be keeping my money. Oh .. and the puppy has kennel cough and they insisted it didn't and their vet confirmed it didn't! They need a new vet... apparently other reviews here share similar " kennel cough " issues! Driving towards Sunset Station where my wife and I would be staying, we saw the sign for The Puppy Store. I was more than a bit surprised since California has eliminated all of these types of shops and only adoptions are allowed at our pet stores. Being suckers for a cute puppy, we decided we would take a look on our way home since we were going to pick up Capriotti's for our son back in L.A. Now they do have adorable puppies but I wasn't exceptionally thrilled with the enclosures they were kept in and the dogs didn't seem very happy to be there. There was a total lack of stimulation for them other than when they would be taken out to play with a potential customer. It seemed just like the stores we had back home where the dogs were supplied by puppy mills since a reputable breeder wouldn't agree to having their animals housed in such a manner. I checked on Yelp and saw a number of reviews from customers and saw that the establishment offered medical guarantees and an exchange policy but they failed in a number of cases to honor those guarantees and had even sold a number of animals with some serious health conditions. Having a rough idea of prices charged by reputable breeders for certain breeds of dogs, I felt the prices being asked for the dogs I was familiar with were on the high side. Combined with the reviews from people who had purchased sickly puppies and received little to no assistance, I knew this wouldn't be a place we'd be interested in doing business with. When a business either refuses or is unable to provide information about the breeder they got the puppy from, that is certainly a red flag not to be ignored. I am not telling anyone not to buy a pet here but it is definitely worth doing your research before buying a dog anywhere. This was not someplace I would be comfortable making a purchase at. I would deal directly with the breeder and go to examine how the puppies were being raised rather than taking the word of a shop. If you do make a purchase, I would have them write specifically on your receipt that they are responsible for any health issues that exist for your pet and that they will reimburse any vet bills for pre-existing conditions rather than depending on the general guarantee that appears online or worse yet, verbal promises that can be ignored in court. If they refuse, I'd walk right out without another word. You'd be better off going to a rescue and preventing another poor creature from being killed at a county facility that has too many animals to take care of. read more

The poor dogs looked so sad in these tiny enclosures. They had their feces in the same little box with them and it looked like it had been a couple of days since it had been cleaned. Food was served in their little beds and the girls working there said that the dogs played in their enclosures and did not get walked. So so sad. read more

Yesterday I went in and found the most perfect puppy! I played with her, the facility was very clean and Briana, who I was working with was very nice. I got the financing information and left to fill everything out and grab a few things from Costco. After I filled out the form I texted Briana since we had been communicating via text, she then stopped replying. I had to call the store in order to get the application processed. Then I heard nothing for the rest of the evening; the following morning I heard nothing from them...so I called the store again, only to be told that maybe the girl working today would work in the application soon. I'm then informed an hour later that the puppy I've been doing all this for has been sold. Ridiculous. If they had been more speedy I would have purchased the puppy I wanted. Now I have had my credit pulled for nothing. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate considering people are spending thousands of dollars here. Don't go here! Go to the breeder directly! read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING A DOG HERE Bought my American Eskimo (Nevada) in June 2021. I had 0 intention to buy a dog, but I went in with my sister and fell in love with my fluff ball. The reasons they get 1 star are the following: 1) Every single dog is way overpriced. They start around $2,000 and go up from there. I paid $4000 for a dog that I could have bought for $1500-2500 and it would have fit the AKC standard I wanted. They told me Nevada was a standard Eskimo (I was expecting a 20lb+ dog) and I bought a dog that is nowhere in the ballpark of being a standard American Eskimo. Nevada weighs about 12lbs. This alone is why stores should always be avoided and shopping for an animal should be done through a breeder. 2) The health guarantee is included but covers nothing. Nevada had to be checked by the vet about a week later due to her sugar being low and of course, when I called to check on the coverage, it was like pulling teeth, and in the end, there was no coverage. 3) They include a vet exam you have to get done within a certain amount of time, however, the places that they refer you to have very long wait periods and you cant get ahold of them over the phone so I had to go in person just to make an appointment. read more

This is a family owned business they claim with such pride I did not buy my dog at this store I had to get him in Utah but it is the same owner I recently bought a puppy after getting my support animal letter and believing that it would be a good thing that's my story As far as the store is concerned the experience I had after taking the puppy home which they did not tell me that he nonstop barked was aggressive if you tried to take his toys away and or put your hand between his food he would show aggression at 11 weeks old The experience with the dog and I only lasted 24 hours because I am bipolar and his barking nonstop for 24 hours triggered my bipolar and anxiety and I could no longer handle the dog. I asked them to take the dog back becaus of the issues that the dog was having and that I was having it was a total disaster When I gave the dog back I gave them everything that they gave me and I fully understood that in the contract they really didn't have to give me any money back because there is a no return policy I mostly cared about the dog and did not want to just try to sell him on craigslist to get some money back I was hoping that the owners would give me a portion back. I filled out the return form gave them everything back waited a few days for the owners response I was told that I would get a full refund that they felt I have been through enough only to find out two days later they change their mind claiming that it cost them to put him back in the system send him to the doctor and get cleared again. That is completely understandable so I asked again can I at least have the remainder of what wasn't spent to do that considering I spent $2500 on the dog there is no way that cost them that much to get him rechecked and put back in the store that is absolutely ridiculous. Now he is for sale again under the name xilo I don't know how much they're asking they were asking 3500 when I inquired and I have inquired more than one dog they will immediately drop $1000 if you just ask them for a discount that is absolutely ridiculous it should've been a red flag right there that they r just in it for the money and do not care about anything else Moral to the story for me is regardless if you have to give someone all their money back morally and ethically they are absolutely robbing me of at least $1000 that's all I really asked for in the beginning to have anything back because of my negative and bad experience with the puppy overnight there should be a compatibility clause in the contract. I would never recommend to anyone buying a dog from the store the owners are just money greedy they are actually going to end up probably making $5000 on one dog that's if you're not dumb enough to ask them for the thousand dollar discount immediately because they overprice them in the listings by $1000 I have had them discount $1000 on more than two inquiries within two minutes of a conversation whatever you do don't pay what they're asking they are a total rip off Absolute total greed!!!!! read more

Bought a Mini Goldendoodle from them in 2018, she has seizures and IBS. She requires daily expensive medication and a prescription food diet. They don't guarantee the pups at all. The sales associates claim there is a life time health guarantee. They claim that if you just fill out this paperwork and BUY ANOTHER DOG that you'll be credited the CRAZY OVERPRICED cost of the dogs. Nope. You're just a sucker TWICE. My husband was convinced by the manager that if he bought another dog the cost of the first dog would be credited to his account in 60 days. She GUARANTEED IT. Lies. All lies.
