Finally stopped in for dinner tonight with my wife and son. It was my birthday so I got to choose where we went. I was a little nervous hoping my 17yo picky non celiac son would find something he would like in a gf restaurant. I worried for nothing! He and I ordered the smash burgers and they were exceptional. He didn't even mind the "special sauce" which is amazing because the only thing he usually puts on a burger is salt. The warm chips were great as well. The wife got a "p-dizzle" flat bread. It was SO good. I almost forgot that we ordered cheese bites for an appetizer. They were served with a pineapple medley and a hummus dip. Holy cow were they fantastic! Their menu is quite large and we can't wait to go back. I was also impressed with the prices. Gf food is quite expensive and this place does a nice job offering delicious gf food at a very reasonable price! The service was a tad slow but I think they were short handed so that's totally understandable. All of the staff were extremely nice. And finally, the ambiance. couldn't of been more excited to try this place. that wore off quickly once we arrived. we went through the cumbersome process of making a reservation, signing up for the app, selecting a time/room and confirming we were coming all to arrive and have someone shout from the bar and say, "just sit wherever you want". lol...glad we went through all that. there were only two tables on a Saturday night so there was no trouble getting a table. server "greeted" us...i'm just going to say it was probably the most uninterested and rude waitress i've ever had. rushed us through the meal and did everything in her power other than roll her eyes to make us feel as unwelcome as possible. but....the food was REALLY good. we are both vegan and love trying restaurants like this. had all the makings of being an amazing place. you can tell the menu was created by someone with some real passion. inside the restaurant was beautiful and as i said, the food was amazing! but that only goes so far when service basically doesn't want you there. so props to kitchen and unfortunately that is where it ends. couldn't in good conscience ever return or suggest to anyone. owner needs to realize, despite having an amazing concept and BOH, the front staff can make or break a customers experience. best of luck in the future, TQoS! read more

We actually ate here twice traveling through town to a wedding, there and back. Its a bit expensive but the quality is good and there are a lot of healthy options. They did great with my son's dairy intolerance - they left some meatballs off his meat pizza and left a note on the box explaining they are made with cheese. I appreciate it as I would not have thought of that, and I liked they had vegan cheese as an option for his pizza. The second time we tried the west coast flatbread but he said it tasted weird. I thought it was fine- maybe just not kid approved . My fault for trying to get some veggies into him. I found their soup very tasty and had a watermelon mint salad with a bowl of soup the second time, and a turkey burger the first time. The turkey burger was fine but a little dry and bland. Husband had a squash bowl the first time which was great, we mixed the chickpea salad side into it. It was a good combo def recommend it. He tried the pulled pork sandwich on the second go and felt it was fine but bland. I think maybe it seems like everything else on the menu is a good pick except for the sandwiches. I had a moon time tea the first time. It came with no lid they didnt have any but was very very good tea so I ordered it again the second time. They forgot it in the second order and he had to go back for it. They rushed making it i think, it was not very strong, so I was a little bummed. I did call and ask them where they got the tea from and they told me it was from a local coffee place, so I am going to try to go buy a bag of tea to take home. What a great place for Peoria!! I'm back home in the area from California and really enjoyed The Queen of Squash tonight! It's great to have fresh, clean, healthy food vs the never ending fried food and burgers. The ambiance is comforting and cozy. Our server, Bianca, was delightful, friendly, and personable. She wasn't rushed, got everything right, and made great cocktails! They were proportioned nicely and tasted great! My mom and I had 3 between the two of us. We got several dishes to try a variety and they were all great! I'd get all of them again. Flavorful and unique! Nothing was bland and all was tasty! Great job!! I'd definitely recommend for both vegetarian and non vegetarian. They have things for both. I really hope the Peoria area supports this establishment because the area desperately needs it. My lady can't have gluten, we always struggle finding places that have options for her. We were meeting an old friend of hers in Peoria, when she saw that The Queen of Squash was 100% gluten free. She was very excited. Now before I go much further, I am a hardcore Carnivore. I eat all the meat and Glutens. So, I was a little skeptical about a restaurant that seemed to cater to gluten free and Vegan. Over the years I've become accustomed to Gluten Free items, but they always seemed to have issues. I was pleasantly surprised by the food here. We started off with the Cheese bites. Which is much like Brazilian cheese bread, we couldn't decide between the zucchini chimichurri or the pineapple salsa as a dipping sauce, so we paid for both. These were fantastic. It had a great taste, and honestly both dipping sauces were good, but it was agreed the zucchini chimichurri is absolutely the best. If you like cheesy bread stuffs, get this. You will regret it if you don't. For the main course I opted for the P-Drizzle on a cauliflower flatbread. As copied from their menu: "a base of ranch and cheddar, topped with chicken, turkey bacon & turkey pepperoni and drizzled with tangy mustard BBQ sauce and our secret burger sauce." Now, I was hesitant because Turkey Bacon, Turkey Pepperoni? To my bacon and pepperoni loving self, this seemed so wrong... The only thing wrong about it was me. This flat bread was beyond delicious. Honestly, the bacon and pepperoni didn't taste exactly the same as traditional style, but that's okay. It was still good and on this flatbread the flavors mixed with everything else to make it a tastebud sensation. Most surprisingly was the crust. If you've ever eaten Gluten Free items, they usually have a weird texture, it's too dense/crumbly, or has a strange flavor. This did not. Over the last five years I've eaten a lot of Gluten Free items and tested them vs the traditional versions. I can say that this flat bread was so good, that I had to double check with the staff to make sure it was gluten free before I let my lady taste it. If you are gluten free, or if you are with someone that is gluten free. Go out of your way to the Queen of Squash. You will not regret it. My only issue is that it's so far away from where we live. read more

You can choose from bowls , flatbreads, salads, soups, and other goodies. We split a zucchini pesto flatbread with cauliflower crust topped with veggies and chicken; and a strawberry kiwi dinner salad with shrimp and a yummy citrus dressing. I also had a delicious cup of hot hibiscus tea that was wonderful-no sugar needed . They also have a really cute bar that offers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. We decided to Google search local vegan restaurants and came across this one. We decided to try it out and we definitely were not disappointed. The food was amazing. We had the Nachos (which I added jackfruit and Bbq sauce), the cheeseburger with chips, and the jackfruit bowl with zucchini noodles. It was all very good. The menu accommodated both the vegan diets in our party and those who were not vegan. We will definitely be returning. It's nice when local small businesses can be supported. I went with the Sicilian Bowl and their Buffalo Chicken Rissoles. Although this place is very over priced for the location and serving size the food was very tasty. My father ordered the West Coast flatbread and although I wasn't a fan of that my mothers ordered the Mediterranean Turkey Smash which was enjoyable but very small of a sandwich. We could have ate that $15 meal in 4 bites. I was a little disappointed because the sweet tea was non refillable. It seems like the waiter was trying to charge us for everything, even the minimal things we ordered. I give this place 3 stars because of the prices and because the hospitality could have been better as a restaurant. The dressing was fresh and delicious as well! The pizza was very good but for the size, it is not worth $19.00!! Yes, two people could split it but I'm still scratching my head why it cost $19.00. Please don't get me wrong, the taste was very good but for that price Buffalo chicken should have been piled on and falling off each slice. I would be surprised if they have not heard this comment before. Not sure what their price point is but I feel like the pizza we received should have been priced at $14 or $15 tops.
