Great hole in the wall type place. We got an appetizer of the Mozzarella Sticks and wow they were so good, super stringy cheese I almost choked. Got a salad to start and I was kind of disappointed, lettuce wasn't super fresh and it was very watery. For the main dish I got the baked tortellini, very good although I thought there could have been a little bit more sauce. Service was top notch! Review Visit: December 29th, 2015 Palanza's was Plainza's. Palanza's seems to be well-regarded among people I know from the Washington area. With that in mind, I went with a group of friends to try it out one evening. We came. We ate. We left reeking of grease. That just about sums up my experience there. We showed up for dinner and tried a variety of things. We all ordered something different and shared some appetizers. What we all picked off the menu was lost to time. But I do remember chomping down my food and having to tell my mouth that there was indeed some food being consumed since there wasn't much flavor in my sandwich. I can't speak for my friends and I know asking them about their experience today would lead to a lot of "I don't remember"s. So, I am going to chalk it up to maybe having an off day there, either on my behalf or the chefs behalf. Either way, I won't forget the stench of my coat after we left. As soon as we got in my car to leave (it was just Tim and I in my car), I could instantly smell the reek of grease on my coat. It was fairly strong and made me gag a bit as I was taking Tim home. Once I got home, I instantly put my coat in the hamper for immediate cleaning. It's amazing that I don't remember what sandwich I ordered but the heavy grease smell on my coat is a memory that is clear as day. Second chances are something I believe in. I am willing to give Palanza's another go should the opportunity arise. read more

I had half order of spaghetti with meat sauce. I ordered homemade meatballs. Very very good along with their garlic bread!!! There was two waitresses working the whole restaurant and they were awesome! Any restaurant that offers diet Mt dew already gets my vote!!! read more

Found this place while looking for a place to eat while in Peoria. The photos of the interior reminded me of a place I'd frequent in my youth, so I figured... what the hell ‍. We walked in and were immediately welcomed by staff and told to sit anywhere we'd like. There were a few tables occupied, but not very busy (about 5pm on a Sat evening). Upon hearing this was out first time in, Melissa (our server) brought over a small plate of lettuce with different dressings they offer. The oil/vinegar dressing was delicious. But the Bleu Cheese dressing was phenomenal! And I do not EVER eat bleu cheese anything! But I'd eat that again. The Spicy mozzarella sticks were very tasty too. The pizza was very delicious, asked for it to be cooked slightly well done as I always do. And it was perfect. I also ordered the fried chicken. Very crispy, cooked in fresh oil, and very tasty. Not a ton of seasoning, which if there is a critique, that would be it. Otherwise the food was all around good! BO ALCOHOL served here. So be prepared for that. Horrible food and service, servers where rude and the chicken Alfredo tasted like it was from a can. My girlfriend got the spaghetti, it was worse than from a can. The sauce was very watered down without any flavor. The noodles on both dishes where so over done they almost turned into mush. We will not return or recommend this place to anyone. Love this place and the food. I have been going to Palanzas for 45+ years. All the different dishes have a distinctive taste that is all its own. My favorites are the sausage sandwich with cheese, double large chef salad with their house VO dressing and the family sausage super pizza! For the more conservative palat there is also burgers and chicken strips. read more

Atmosphere of a local family place in anytown USA. Service was friendly and food was great! I tried their house salad (some call it a garlic salad) and truly enjoyed it. Garlic is a little strong but not overpowering. Definitely worth a try. The pizza has a crust that tastes like it was cooked in a wood burning oven - very good. Palanza's is one of our family favorites. My family has been coming here since the 70s and I grew up on their food. Their homemade dressings are awesome and the vinegar and oil and ranch or two of my favorites! Love the thick crust pizza and they have an awesome pork chop up too! Husband loves this place. I don't know why. Last time we had a big group, servers were very rude to our group of children. I know it is a small place but kids are kids and they didn't want to sit down as they were excited to see their family for my hubby birthday. They kept getting agitated with them and shouting "excuse me". We were trying to corral the best we could as we were getting ready to leave. Then they told us we needed to get our stuff off of another table as they were going to use for another party even though there were 5 other open large tables. Definitely not pleased with the service. They made sure and added an 18% gratuity because after they treated those kids like that, I wouldn't of given them $1.00. So sorry our kids were being kids. It only takes a minute to try and explain what you are doing rather than making a scene for everyone. read more

Good food, they are known for their pizza but I always have the chicken. I would give higher score but the service isn't always the best. I suggest you dine out if you have a larger sized party. The dining area is small and cramped. You Can't go wrong with their pizza, fried chicken, or salad. They have a nice vinegar based dressing but I always get the ranch. read more

Great Pizza ! It is a nice neighborhood joint that mostly locals know about. The pizza has a sweet sauce , you can get it thin or thick , they have wonderful pork chops too. The special item has to be the house salad with the house dressing , heavy in garlic with simple oil and vinegar FANTASTIC ! read more

The salad is very garlicky but very good. Lots of locals eat there. Wing night get another 10 for $1. Pizza is good along with spaghetti.

My wife and I wanted to go some place new to us for Pizza and Beer. We ended up at Palanza's, waited maybe 15 minutes for a table as they were busy only to find out they don't serve beer. Thought about leaving but decided to stay and we are very glad that we did!! Our server was Megan and she was outstanding. She was friendly and attentive and was assisted by a hostess/bus person who also made sure our sodas were full and we were well taken care of. We had salad, wings and pizza. The salad was very basic with home made blue cheese dressing. The dressing was kind of strange; sweet and not much blue cheese. I can see where this dressing would appeal to some people but it just wasn't my favorite. Gotta try new things tho. We had their home made Ranch dressing with wings and it was awesome! The wings were very, very good. We ordered medium hot wings and they were not quite as hot as I would have liked but perfect for Beth. The wings were cooked to perfection and the meatiest ones we have ever had. Pizza was very good also. Classic thin crust with generous toppings. The atmosphere was comfortable and clean, nice paintings on the walls and welcoming. The timing of the food delivery was perfect also. Salad, wings. pizza all spaced perfectly.
