My daughter got the farmhouse burger, loved it. My son got the buffalo chicken sandwich; also loved it. I got the French dip and everything was so good about it! I tried it for the first time on Sunday. I had the biscuit and gravy, with eggs and hash browns. It was delicious, and I really liked the place. Service was great, and the owner was very nice too. They really run this place well. Smooth operating machine. I've been telling my family and friends about this place since. We are even going back for dinner too. They have a huge wide variety menu. We ordered a carry out with 3 dinner specials. 1 fried shrimp platter with mashed potatoes and a salad with French dressing. 12 dollars 2 lasagna with garlic bread and salad. 12 dollars 3 bbq pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and chicken noodle soup 8 dollars Good - lasagna and chicken noodle soup Lasagna is a large portion with several layers and a meat sauce Chicken noodle soup has spiral noodles, flavorful broth, and a good amount of chicken Fried shrimp are crunchy and served with a cocktail sauce Bad Salad was really wet Coleslaw is prepackaged and lacks flavor. It is bland creamy coleslaw Mashed potatoes had gravy on them for a to go order and the gravy was super thin. Bbq pulled pork is smothered in sauce and doesn't have much flavor. Lovely little small town cafe. My wife and I stopped by for lunch, they were quite busy but after a five minute wait we were seated right away. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich with the chicken noodle soup. FYI, all sandwiches (even burgers) come with a cup of soup, fries or onion rings are extra $. I opted for onion rings with my sandwich as well. My wife ordered the chicken salad melt sandwich, with the beef vegetable soup. She also opted for fries with her sandwich. My meal was delicious, the soup was flavorful and the noodles were soft. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich was amazing, everything came out piping hot! The onion rings were crispy. Unfortunately my wife said her chicken salad melt sandwich lacked flavor, I tried it myself and I have to agree with her. The fries were crispy and delicious though, and she reported the beef vegetable soup was good. Would definitely go back for their breakfast. read more

We live in Nebraska, but visit Tremont frequently. Every time we are in the area, we stop at Jack's Cafe. The food is wonderful, the prices are reasonable and Chris is our FAVORITE part of the staff. Amazing food! Waitresses are the best around! I found this restaurant by chance and make sure I go back every week or two! I love their fried chicken and deep fried onion rings! Wish they had homemade Cole slaw. The salad is great but I am never able to eat the whole thing before my food comes. Breakfast looks good too, but I always seem to make it there around lunch time. This wonderful restaurant has an extensive and varied menu and everything my family has tried has been excellent. The homemade soup comes as an appetizer when you order a sandwich and is also delicious. My favorite is the cream of potato. Service is always fast and friendly. I had the Manhattan roast beef sandwich. The quality was good. The amount was plenty. Very good open roast beef sandwich. My wife had the chicken fried steak. She ate 3/4 and brought the rest home. She said it was very good. My mother had chicken stir fry. Like my wife, she said it was very good and at 3/4 and brought the rest home. The price was about $12 per person. Best food we've had at a Restaurant in a long time. My daughter and I are there at least twice a week. They have Swiss steak on Saturday and that's the only place we can get it, it's so good. Arrived to a restaurant with 3 other tables with customers so not busy. Ordered a coke for my husband and hot tea for me- she forgot my tea until I finally asked for a coke too as I ate my soup. Soup was terrible- how do you mess up chicken noodle? My husband's salad was awesome. Dinner was terrible! I had chicken parmigiana- the chicken was tasteless and the spaghetti wasn't drained well so the bottom was full of water- and I had remind the waitress I got garlic bread with it- wish I had skipped it. Garlic bread was flavorless and over cooked. My husband had a burger and onion rings and of course the waitress forgot the onion rings- my husband just said never mind to me. The burger was meh. We had to ask for the $4 onion rings be removed from the bill. We will not return. read more

Wow! We tried Jack's Omelet and French toast, we recommend them both! The French toast was easily one of the best French toasts I've ever had. They make it on their homemade bread, (thick Texas toast type) soooo yummy! The omelet was amazing as well. It had great flavor with the veggies and meat. The omelet came with a good portion of hash browns. They were the perfect balance of crispy, while not being over cooked. The omelet also included 2 pancakes that were delicious.
