My friends and I came here for the REGULAR $38 AYCE experience this past Monday evening. We were seated immediately without any wait, with the spread of banchan ready for us. The salad was pretty refreshing, and I enjoyed the potato salad and broccoli. The service was alright. We cooked our own meat, and our server only came to check on us occasionally. Between the three of us, we shared six different meats (and they actually give you so much per order) along with a few sides that were also unlimited. The thin-sliced brisket was actually pretty fatty, so we are unsure what the fatty brisket plate would have been like. The top blade steak was also quite good with the side of salt and sesame oil, but I recommend keeping a good watch on it to not over-grill it. The thin-sliced pork belly was fatty and juicy. Next, we tried the beef bulgogi, orange beef bulgogi, and cumin pork belly. Marinated meats aren't usually my favorites, but my friends really enjoyed the orange beef bulgogi. The combination was unique and surprisingly, it worked well. The cumin pork belly was interesting and flavorful, and I would recommend ordering one to try. As for the sides, I thought the steamed egg had a weird texture. It was definitely not freshly made. The corn cheese was fine and same with the fried rice cakes. My friends enjoyed the beef radish soup, but I found it a bit too bland. Overall, not my favorite AYCE KBBQ in the area, but it was worth going to once. read more

I give The Qui in Chantilly 3 stars overall for an "A-OK" experience. We decided to check it o for a KBBQ lunch given its nearby location to an errand we were running. The inside of the restaurant is nicer than expected, with a cavernous and industrial feel. Our waitress was the only one working the whole restaurant. She nonetheless provided prompt and efficient service, including meat cooking, during our meal. We opted for AYCE option for $38. We sampled the spicy pork belly, spicy and regular pork bulgogi, and the thinly sliced pork belly. All the pork cuts had a tender texture and we found the marinades savory and not too sweet, in comparison to other restaurants. The sole beef option I tried was the top blade steak. While tender, the meat was watery and subsequently lacked flavor. We found the banchan and side dishes here weak. Most of the banchan had too much sugar for our palette. Banchan were limited to basic selections such as kimchi, potato salad, and picked radish; some higher end choices such as fish cake would have been welcome. The corn cheese, while gooey, lacked seasoning. The fried rice cakes had a pleasantly crisp and bouncy texture when served fresh, though gummed up after a couple of minutes. The steamed eggs actually had great flavor, but are cooked on the grill such that the bottoms burn. Overall, this felt like a relatively standard KBBQ experience for the area. While the pork options tasted of a decent quality, the remainder of the meal fell a bit flat. While not bad by any means, we experienced no compelling reason to return to the Qui over either a new restaurant or repeat visit to a standby. read more

This was our first time visiting The Qui, and we were really looking forward to celebrating my birthday. We came for lunch around 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday. The restaurant wasn't very busy, so we expected attentive service, but unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences we've had. Our waiter never introduced himself or even told us his name. He didn't ask everyone at the table for their drink orders, nor did he explain how the ordering process worked. Since it was our first visit, we had questions about the menu and whether we were supposed to order for the entire table or individually. Instead of helping us understand, he seemed visibly frustrated that we were asking questions. As first-time guests, we expected patience and a brief explanation--not annoyance. The overall customer service was cold and unwelcoming. We eventually asked to speak with a manager, and the waiter told us there wasn't one available, which honestly made no sense, especially during business hours. The condition of the women's restroom was also unacceptable. The floor was extremely slippery, creating a safety hazard. There was no toilet paper and no toilet seat covers available, which reflects poorly on the restaurant's attention to cleanliness and maintenance. It's unfortunate because we were genuinely excited to try The Qui and celebrate a special occasion. Great food can be overshadowed by poor service and neglected facilities, and that's exactly what happened here. We enjoy Korean BBQ and this is one of our favorite spots. Most recently, we dined on a Saturday night and the waiters were very prompt. We noticed there were two sides of the restaurant, each had 1-2 waiters/waitresses assigned per side. They seemed to be rather busy, so we were surprised by his attentiveness. The restaurant offered generous portion sizes of their meats and when we asked for a mush smaller portion than normal, just to try something new he was happy to oblige! Our favorite from here is always the spicy beef bulgogi and spicy pork belly. The new items we tried were the masala honey butter chicken- if you like Indian food, you will enjoy it! I wasn't sure what to expect but thought it was surprisingly good. My husband who is not a fan of regular Indian dishes did not care for it. We also tried the Orange beef bulgogi. Neither of us cared for this one, but if you love the taste of oranges.. you will love it! It was VERY orange tasting, we were expecting just a hint of orange. Overall we had a great experience here. My boyfriend and I came here for lunch over the weekend and from the moment we walked in we knew we had made a good choice. The host by the front door was incredibly friendly and welcoming which set a great tone right away. The restaurant was quiet since it was lunchtime which made it feel calm and comfortable, the kind of place where you can actually talk and enjoy your food without shouting over noise. Our waiter Evan was a standout from the start. He was friendly, attentive, and somehow always appeared at the perfect time. He recommended the fatty brisket and thank goodness he did because it ended up being the star of the meal. We ordered it an embarrassing FOUR times and loved every bite. The brisket was rich, flavorful, and cooked perfectly each time. Evan made sure our sauces were always topped off, the teriyaki sauce especially, and checked in often enough to make sure everything was just right without hovering. Definitely ask for him if you go because he really made the experience even better. The all you can eat option is 38 a person and honestly a solid deal considering what's included. You can order three meats at a time and there are around 20 different options ranging from beef, pork, and chicken to shrimp and squid. There's plenty of variety and the sides pair nicely with everything. They were out of several Japanese beers which was a little disappointing and we were hoping for fried rice or glass noodles but those weren't available. Still, there were enough other dishes and flavors to make up for it. By the end we were completely stuffed and should've been rolled out of there. Omg!!!!! Honestly - after a 40 minute wait, not worth it!! At all. And to make matters worse, the server sucked.his name was Deurim. He was not attentive, he seemed very preoccupied, we had to flag him down constantly, and his attitude just threw me and my friend off he was not a welcoming or pleasant server. This was my first time there but my friend has been a few times and he was even appalled at the horrible service. The food quality - seemed worse than Iron Age. My friend ordered cheese corn and it was literally water and corn with a small piece of cheese that didn't melt, the steamed egg was not fresh, and as you see below the steak came with such a thick tendon down the middle and looked unappetizing. I remember those days when I had to drive an hour to Annandale to get really, good KBBQ at places like Kogiya. I'm glad I no longer have to drive that far! Qui is so close to me and it's as good as it gets. I have a feeling the Chateau next door and Qui are owned by the same owner because the décor here is also spectacular just like Chateau. It has its own character though. The massive pipe light work on the wall is quite an industrial statement. The best KBBQ places are set apart by the quality of their meat. I don't think you can get any better level of meat than what Qui offers except maybe Wagyu and Kobe in Japan. Qui has multiple options. An unlimited buffet option with some basic meats, another unlimited buffet option with meats plus seafood, and then a non-buffet set of selected meats. You cannot order single dishes. We always go with the basic buffet option. Beef brisket is always our first choice to ease into it. We also quite like garlic pork belly and chicken. We don't usually order chicken at a KBBQ place but the chicken here tastes quite good so we always get it at least once. Don't forget to order the side dishes too! The egg, the soup, and the rice cakes! Yum! The crowd is not predictable in my experience. Sometimes, we came on Fridays and weekends expecting an hour's wait, but there was no wait. But he also grilled and prepared all the meats for us. In fact the only "hands on" we had to do for our dinner was peeling the shrimp. The "basic" selections. The specialty cocktails were interesting and eye-appealing, but the house cocktails were made just as well and several dollars cheaper. A few things could have been better. Your table comes with an assortment of sides, which, to my pleasure, included kimchi. But it was room temperature, which to me makes it much less palatable. The standard meats can have a bit of gristle, chew, fat, etc., so you may want to spend the $$ for a premium meat to be included. Your all-you-can-eat experience is 90 minutes, and it would be nice if your server gave you a head's up about it, rather than just abruptly dropping the check on the table. This AYCE korean bbq is right next to my house so i HAVE to try it. First of, the parking is plenty in the back but a little tight in the front of the restaurant! We were seated after 10 minutes (we stopped by for lunch) and they weren't crowded. They had maybe 2 servers when we were there. Food came out within 5 minutes but it did took them a bit to take our order. I had requested the lettuce platter and it was $5 extra . The brisket here was pretty unseasoned so make its perfect with the sauce. We also tried chicken masala and it's perfectly seasoned. AYCE price is $36 which is pretty decent! Came here on a Friday evening at 7 expecting there to be at least a 30 minute wait, but it was less than 10 minutes. Service was also very friendly and prompt right as our group entered. Once we were seated, all our sauces and side dishes and a pitcher of water were already on the table which was nice. We were able to order right away and barely waited for all our meats as well. You have to request sesame oil if you want the sesame oil dip for the bbq by the way. Our server was super attentive and cooked all of our meats for us and distributed them to each person as well. NOVA has tough competition for AYCE K-BBQ, and the Qui did not disappoint. First off, the meat portions are really large. Our server was incredibly friendly and checked on us/the meats very frequently. The hot sides are all included, and none will be brought out unless you specifically ask for them. Knowing that we were first timers, that is the only thing I wished our waiter warned us about. Otherwise, the meats are not seasoned, but obviously there is always sauces. Go for the thin brisket and the classic bulgogi, if you are a novice like me, and you will not be disappointed. 90 minute seating limit wasn't even an issue for us. We randomly found this place coming back home from NOVA. Walking in we were promptly seated. Our server was pleasant and towards the end was busy so we waited a bit for our check but understandably. They played K-POP music (which I loved) and was kind of dim in there. You have to use your phone to look at the menu, but they do have physical menus if needed. We ordered the regular all you can eat and then I added on the LA galbi. This was the first KBBQ place I've been where the add on is only one choice vs all the meat. You also have to ask for the sides you want, I'm used to places just bringing them out but I also understand they don't want anything to go to waste. The banchans (side dishes) were decent, no complaints. You can get them refilled as many times as needed. At the time we went, they only had 1 kimchi - which was the cabbage kimchi. Stopped here while at the convention in the chantilly area. Normally, Vog is the general who leads us into battle but due to a freak Canasta injury, he wasn't able to make the trip with us. After heavy prayer and a tootski, I decided I was ready to step up and see if I had what it takes. Very upscale looking place, big rot iron front door and dark decor and painting - Edison bulbs for decoration and two floors. We were sat upstairs with a balcony view and got to work. We ordered the AYCE 3 - which is just your standard array of meats, and I started us out with the brisket, bulgogi and pork belly. The sides and individual sauce plates were already there ready, so we chomped on some kimchi and broccoli which was fire. The meats came out and I got to work- helpful was the fact the grille top is slanted like a roof so you can do two meats and a time and don't have to worry about cross grease interference. The brisket was cooked without a hitch, passed it around and threw on the bulgogi and pork. Got a good sear to the pork and cut it into slices to further and finish the cook, using all the skills I've watched Vog use. The final boss of you will was the spicy bulgogi which came in two forms - pork and beef. They did swap out the grille tops but with the seasoning on the meat things started to char quickly and I had to move things around to keep us from getting burned up. Overall I did a good job, but I can't wait to have my brother in Christ Zak back on the ones and twos (tongs and scissors). Good food - standard price. Server was nice and attentive. read more

My Baltimore based co-worker raved about it and would drive an hour+ to eat here, so I knew I had to try it out myself. First off, plenty of parking and it's right next to a bakery. Just be cautious since you MUST keep an eye out on your food because they want YOU to toss & turn your meat and veggies!!! It's one of my go-to spots for AYCE KBBQ! They do have a couple menu options, but $34/person for all you can eat is reasonable in the area now. Premium Beef Brisket, Top Blade and the Honey-Butter Squid were my favorite. Their portion size was perfect; not too little and not too much. I couldn't get enough of their house salad! The only downside is their steamed egg is served in a small aluminum tin rather than the traditional stone bowl. They are typically busy at night and weekend so it's recommended to come early. We had such a delightful and enjoyable lunch at this adorable place! We brought along some kiddos and were the first ones to arrive. We decided to go for the unlimited menu, which was a great choice. The food was delicious, especially the appetizers and sides, although they had a slightly smaller selection compared to other K-BBQ places. The kids absolutely loved the white rice. What made the experience even better was the peaceful and spacious atmosphere during lunchtime, allowing us to relax and no music. The server came by though towards the end to apologize for there being an issue with the music, but honestly, we found it quite nice without it and even mentioned that fact. However, they eventually managed to get it working and it became a bit too loud towards the end of our meal. Despite that, we still had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning for lunch with the kids as this is a great place to make memories.
