If Han gang and old school Yangbin had a baby, this is the place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In a sea of Korean restaurants, this one stands out as it's a classic Korean restaurant with charm and amazing banchan.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had the Wooguji galbitang , grilled galbi ( cooked in the kitchen and brought out, although they have cook your own option) , grilled spicy pork and nengmyun (cold noodles) Yay!! New favorite

    Fresh banchan!

I don't know why we never checked out this place ever, but we regret not coming by sooner! Our family is pretty picky about Korean food because my MIL made the best Korean food ever. Now that she's gone, we were craving some good hanshik and decided we would try this place. They did not disappoint! It was empty because we came late on a weekday evening, so the owner was very present and hospitable. You can tell she puts a lot of care into the food that goes out. The banchan (Korean side dishes) looked super clean and pretty which is a huge plus! Some places, the banchan and especially kimchi looks like a hot mess, but we were pleasantly surprised with the look and taste of all the side dishes. It seems the recipes of the some of the food were passed down from her grandmother, but I may have misunderstood her. Regardless, the food was delicious! We ordered chadol (brisket), daechang, and makchang with add-on steamed egg and soybean soup that my son absolutely loved! This was too much food for us, but we ordered 3 meats so we could grill at the table. All the meats hit the spot and were so yummy! We might come here over our usual spot, Gopchang Story now. Loved that the makchang was marinated in spicy sauce already, just the way we like it. One tip is to grill the meats yourself (if you know how) because it's going to taste so much better if you grill it the right way. The tip is to make the daechang nice and crispy and makchang cooked thoroughly so it has that nice chewy texture to give you jawlines for days (jk forever double chin gang here, but a girl can dream right?!). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant's interior is reminiscent of maybe 80's/90's Korean days with records and vintage posters decorating the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I usually like to peek into bathrooms of places to see how clean they are, but I was too busy to check the bathrooms out here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself seemed a bit outdated but well maintained, which shows it's been around and successful for a long time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Boneless marinated pork ribs being grilled - YUM!!

It was our first time here and it was an AMAZING experience!! Yes, you are first greeted by a robot so that's something unique. But then you are greeted by a human and seated. We went there for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't that busy. Yes, the music is a bit loud, but it didn't bother us one bit. If you are sensitive to loud music, this isn't your place to come, but you're going to miss out on some great food and service! We ordered the pork belly and marinated boneless pork ribs and it was just fascinating to watch it be prepared in front of us!! The service was just amazing and everything was explained to us in thorough detail. The side dishes were plentiful! OMG!! You MUST order the AMAZING side of egg since it is so luscious!! Everything was simply amazing!! Can't wait to return!! The robot even returns to collect payment which was hilarious! ;) Sorry, I couldn't post the robot since Yelp only allows 10 pictures per post. :(

I had a really good meal here for not much $$. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was eerily empty when I wandered in on a Wednesday night[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] but my order came out hot, fresh, and with 8 types of Kim chee.

    Uber eats image

We ordered Galbi on uber eats, it came with 90% onion and maybe 5 pieces of meat for $30!!!!! We called asking if this was correct and they told us that is just how it is prepared, and the woman was rude, unprofessional, and hung up. IN THE MIDDLE OF US TALKING!!!! If I could give this less than 1 star I would. Mind you, I have never gone out of my way to actually put a bad review on anything.

The parking lot is on a busy street, so it's honestly a bit confusing the first time you park here. Coming in, you get greeted by a cute little robot waiter (just for payment), but of course there are still human waiters. The dae chang was just... a bit too fatty for my taste. The shrimp tempura had 3 shrimps, 2 zucchini, and 1 potato. I wouldn't say that is worth it, although the dish was crunchy and warm. The bulgolgi was sweet but the meat was cut up too small. The portions were reasonable, and the side dishes were okay. The cucumber tasted a bit old, however. Overall, for the quality of food and given the current inflation, I'd say it is slightly more expensive than your typical Korean bbq place. You'd probably get more value going to Annandale.

Galbi dolsot bibimbap and steamed egg

If you want authentic Korean food, this is the spot. Food tastes great and the service is spectacular. Surprisingly, it's not super busy so you don't have to wait long for your food. It's tucked away in the corner so it's not super visible from route 50 but it's located right beside Ocean Crab. We got the steamed egg and galbi dolsot bibimbap. I've also gotten their spicy tofu soup and yookgaejang and those were both delicious too!! Ambience wise, you'll notice the crowd is middle aged but that's because you'll truly get the old school Korean recipes here!! The owner is super sweet and friendly. Check them out and tell her you saw Haechung's review!! ;)

The food was really good. Everyone was very attentive and cooked us the best tasting food!! Everything was amazing!!! The place is cute like traditional Korean restaurant and has a robot that comes to help you with your payment i think which is so cool! I would highly recommend anyone go and trying this!!! It was so worth it!!!

Went back to this restaurant with my fiancé last weekend and the food was still good and consistent! We went for dinner this time and it was a bit busier than lunch time. The bulgogi portion is bigger during dinner time but also slightly more expensive (by about $6-8). The Galbitang (short rib noodle soup) was so flavorful and you get a decent amount of meat. We also tried their specialty macarons which they introduced as new dessert options this month. They are larger than your normal $3 macarons. It was about $6 each but it's a very decent size macarons. We got the crème brûlée, rose flavor, and a Korean macaron that's not in the picture. We liked all of them but the Korean one is my favorite! It has mochi inside the macaron and not too sweet. Highly recommend this place and would recommend going at lunch for the lunch price and to avoid the crowd.

At that time, only parking was at Emerick Elementary School, but there's also closer parking at the community center lot. I actually opted to park in a residential neighborhood, as the street was closer to the event. Well, good thing is dogs are allowed. And I remember it was a "rain or shine" event, which was good, seeing as how it certainly was drizzling at the time -- and likely had rained well before then. A lot of food trucks at the event, in the Fireman's Field area. I beheld a Fords Fish Shack truck, one for a pizza I'd never heard of, and some kind of southern or soul food. No idea of anything, and kinda glad I saw the food truck for the "What the Heck BBQ" at last. This was my first time ordering something here, so at the food truck I just asked for popular choices, and went to knock 'em both out. Brisket and Pulled Pork topped the list, so I got a 2-meats plate with them both, and with flavored Mac and Cheese and Texas Baked BBQ Beans on the side. Packed three small cups of BBQ sauce, one regular and the others of the spicy variant. Ate out at one of the lone picnic tables near the entrance to the park. It was a nice afternoon and the rain had stopped. The brisket was good and so was the pulled pork. I liked the sides more than the main dish, for some reason. Mac and cheese was heavenly but prob had a lot of calories packed in. BBQ beans were spot on, and complimented the meat with their own BBQ sauces. All in all, a close home run and well done for what was essentially a to-go order -- yeah, planning was not outstanding. All in all, great food truck selling barbecue meat and foods. Great Mac 'n cheese by the way. Who knows, hopefully one day I'll swing by the store in Chantilly at least once.

The inside of the restaurant is nicer than expected, with a cavernous and industrial feel. Our waitress was the only one working the whole restaurant. She nonetheless provided prompt and efficient service, including meat cooking, during our meal. We opted for AYCE option for $38. We sampled the spicy pork belly, spicy and regular pork bulgogi, and the thinly sliced pork belly. All the pork cuts had a tender texture and we found the marinades savory and not too sweet, in comparison to other restaurants. The sole beef option I tried was the top blade steak. While tender, the meat was watery and subsequently lacked flavor. We found the banchan and side dishes here weak. Most of the banchan had too much sugar for our palette. Banchan were limited to basic selections such as kimchi, potato salad, and picked radish; some higher end choices such as fish cake would have been welcome. The corn cheese, while gooey, lacked seasoning. The fried rice cakes had a pleasantly crisp and bouncy texture when served fresh, though gummed up after a couple of minutes. The steamed eggs actually had great flavor, but are cooked on the grill such that the bottoms burn. Overall, this felt like a relatively standard KBBQ experience for the area. While the pork options tasted of a decent quality, the remainder of the meal fell a bit flat. While not bad by any means, we experienced no compelling reason to return to the Qui over either a new restaurant or repeat visit to a standby.

The salad was pretty refreshing, and I enjoyed the potato salad and broccoli. The service was alright. We cooked our own meat, and our server only came to check on us occasionally. Between the three of us, we shared six different meats (and they actually give you so much per order) along with a few sides that were also unlimited. The thin-sliced brisket was actually pretty fatty, so we are unsure what the fatty brisket plate would have been like. The top blade steak was also quite good with the side of salt and sesame oil, but I recommend keeping a good watch on it to not over-grill it. The thin-sliced pork belly was fatty and juicy. Next, we tried the beef bulgogi, orange beef bulgogi, and cumin pork belly. Marinated meats aren't usually my favorites, but my friends really enjoyed the orange beef bulgogi. The combination was unique and surprisingly, it worked well. The cumin pork belly was interesting and flavorful, and I would recommend ordering one to try. As for the sides, I thought the steamed egg had a weird texture. It was definitely not freshly made. The corn cheese was fine and same with the fried rice cakes. My friends enjoyed the beef radish soup, but I found it a bit too bland. Overall, not my favorite AYCE KBBQ in the area, but it was worth going to once.

But the food itself was honestly disappointing. The BBQ tasted bland, dry, and nowhere near worth the prices they charge. For a place that talks so much about authentic American BBQ, military pride, veterans, patriotism, and all the "support our heroes" branding, I expected way better food. Instead it felt like the atmosphere and marketing mattered more than what was actually on the plate. The military and first responder theme is everywhere, but after a while it starts feeling more like a marketing gimmick than a restaurant focused on quality BBQ. Even online, a lot of people seem to say the same thing -- overpriced food, average BBQ, and too much forced patriotic branding. If the food matched the hype, maybe it would make sense. Right now it just feels expensive for very average BBQ.
