It was a lovely and inexpensive hotel really close to the french quarter. The room itself was small and cozy. It was In walking distance from Popeyes and a couple good sports bars and oyster bars. Someone was at the front desk 24/7. Unfortunately the laundry room was broken. But our stay there was pretty quiet. It was great. Thank you!

Great experience! Love the location and it had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The lobby is nicely decorated and staff was super friendly. Surprisingly it was very quiet. Lots of parking all around! Looking forward to staying here again on our next visit!

Interior room (didn't post bed, because it was messy!)

Such a great little hotel! Super clean, friendly staff! And such a great value!! Convenient to everywhere, and the streetcar stop is in front of the hotel!!

Sign in front of Quisby where I sat, had morning coffee and people watched with good ole nola sunshine.

The location on st. Charles is perfect. 1 mile from the French quarter and all you do is step outside and there's a street car stop. Garden district just west up st. Charles. 24hr bar is super cool. I'm originally from the Westbank but was visiting this past weekend during the slower section of Mardi Gras season. Parade right in front the hostel was so convenient and fun. The bunk beds look relatively new, beds are comfy, bathroom was clean. Free laundry. Kitchenette area by the bar. I made a friend with a roommate to go on adventures with. The staff was helpful, especially Shai (spelling?) who was very friendly. Card key to get in building and room made me feel safer than other hostels I've been at. Staying here made my trip that much better! 10/10 recommend.

This was my first solo trip and I decided to stay in quinsy. I think I made the most correct decision.it's very safe inside and it extreme clean. They have a good service and they are good in security. Nola is a very safe place over all but the area in which quisby is very safe. It's at walking distance from public transport if you need one.

More fun than Hi New Orleans Hostel Much better rooms than India House hostel but much smaller social areas and no kitchen. Better bar of course *City House Hostel* is sh**t! Breakfast: Doughnuts, Bagels, Coffee/Tea $2 Fauberg Blonde Lager during Happy Hour St Charles Trolley is $1.25 and stops if you just stand by the line! Good Breakfast at just two blocks West BEDS ARE SILENT! and made by a local Nola I'm told. Not noisy metal like the other three Hostels I've stayed at in Nola. Underbed Huge heavy Locker & Wall Lockers. Little Bendy Reading lights at every bunk Very trendy hipster hostel with a cocktail bar. Only stayed here one night and had a great experience. I was on the second floor in a co-ed bunk. The other bunkmates were respectful of my space and quite. Breakfast was included, pretty basic but had a few different options. They did not offer parking but there was plenty of street parking close by. This was a better option to a Air BnB and will stay here next time Im in NOLA Location was great for hopping on the streetcar up to the French Quarter or the bus down to Magazine Street. Right next to a Popeye's, but walk about fifteen minutes to find incredible fried chicken place at Gus'. Also a very easy walk to the Garden District. Grab some food and ride the bus down to Audobon Park for a picnic and some fresh air!

Good location, nice clean room with bathroom within with good wifi , they even have a bar within the location with good prices.Tours services available. They provide fresh clean towels and bath gel upon request . The elevator is squeaky... Due to covid their complementary breakfast was suspended. Understabable! We enjoyed our stay here.

I don't do New Year's resolutions but I said 2022. I was going to do everything different. Everything out the box. There's stuff that I just never did so I decided to stay at a hostel even though I'm in my hometown and I have family . Normally I stay in hostels when I travel out the country but I just wanted to try something different even though I was going back home. I just wanted to see what it was like since it's new and it had a buzz and people were talking about it. Well what it was like was better than any hostile I've ever stayed in overseas. They had a bar that was open 24/7. I said at the bar and laughed till 4:00 a.m. and then went to my bed and slept and got up in 4 hours and left before I left. They gave me a Continental breakfast which most places during COVID doesn't but they gave you packaged donuts and brownies and coffee and orange juice and all that it was very nice. The people were good. Yeah I had a roommate that snort real loud but the great thing about that is I have some earphones that blocks out everything. beds was comfortable. If you were solo travel er or in some sort of travel group and you want to save a ton of money, especially going to a city that's expensive. This is a great choice. Like I said, I normally stay at hostels when I travel out the country simply because I'm just sleeping getting up going to the next location. However this one had a bar and they gave you happy hour prices all night long so drinks were like $2.50. it was a good time. They also bring in a band so bands play but this is New Orleans so if you like the party it's there. They play up until about midnight. Great time. One night they had red beans and rice as well. Can't beat it.

The queen room was unclean and unkempt. I found several nail clippings, food particles, and hair upon check-in. It was quite disgusting! I didn't trust them to do a thorough cleaning so did it myself. I don't recommend staying here.

One of my favorite moments was chatting with a gentleman in the lobby who helped with our luggage. We mentioned we were visiting from Pennsylvania, and he shared that his very first job was in Pennsylvania and actually knew our area. It was one of those authentic conversations that makes you feel more like a guest than just another room number. Our room in the older section was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Housekeeping and the nightly turndown service were exceptional. We also spent plenty of time at the pool, where the staff and bartender were fantastic. The drinks were great, the food hit the spot, and the Fourth of July pop-up DJ made for a really fun afternoon. The service was so personal that one of the bartenders recognized us by name when we ran into her on the street a few days later. The only miss during our stay was the famous Carousel Bar. We never managed to get seats at the actual carousel during our four nights--which is understandable given how popular it is and being the 4th of July weekend. We did sit just behind it. Unfortunately, the service there was noticeably unfriendly and felt completely out of step with the incredible hospitality we experienced everywhere else in the hotel. That one experience wasn't enough to overshadow an otherwise outstanding stay. Between the beautiful historic décor, unbeatable French Quarter location, easy access to everything, and a staff that truly cares about its guests, Hotel Monteleone absolutely lived up to the hype. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Paint in the room was chipping, mattress was stained, but overall these were things we could ignore. However, something we couldn't ignore while using the bathroom in the middle of our first night, was that we found we weren't alone. There were 3+ cockroaches hanging out near the tub and a few scurried away before we could kill/photograph them. The next morning we went to the front desk, got our refund and switched hotels. Front desk staff was AWESOME, so kind and quick to help us. However, after we asked to cancel our stay and went back up to the room to get our bags and leave, one of the hotel housekeepers decided to come up to our room and "confront us". She wanted us to show her the cockroaches (that we had killed and flushed) and tried telling us she's never seen a cockroach at Hotel Le Marais before, basically calling us liars. Lol, well, here's some pictures to prove it. Let's ask the audience. Positives: The front desk staff was exceptional. Very helpful, very kind and knowledgeable. The 2 things I care most about when staying in a hotel is a comfortable night's rest and a good bathroom/shower. The bed in our room was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on in my entire life. It was so mushy that when you laid your head down, you sunk so far into it that your legs were literally 45 degrees above your head. I ended up sleeping upside down in the bed with my head where your feet go in order to feel even remotely comfortable. The pillows were all extremely flat, when you put your head on one it sank so far your face was about 1/2 inch from the mattress. I had to use 3 pillows stacked on each other. I had a stiff back, neck and joints the entire time we were there. The 2nd issue was hot water. The first morning, we attempted to shower, it only got barely luke warm for me and when my husband showered immediately after he only got ice cold water. We stopped at the front desk that morning on our way out for the day and told the woman at the front desk. She said she hadn't received any other complaints so it must be specific to our room and she would send engineering there to look at it. (we were getting hot water in the sink). Later that evening when we returned to our room, we immediately tested the shower again and it was still ice cold. So we went back to the front desk to check if engineering had come. We spoke to the same woman from the morning who acted like it was the first time we were telling her this and she said the exact same thing. I asked if they were going to come ASAP because we needed to shower soon and we couldn't take ice cold showers. She ignored my question and answered the ringing phone. A manager happened to be at the desk and overheard our conversation. He asked what our room number was and said that because of the old building and the pipes the hot water takes longer to get there. He said this was a KNOWN Issue by the staff, management and the owner. He told us to run the shower for AT LEAST 15 to 20 minutes, simultaneously with the sink and it should get hot. He also offered to move us to a different room but when I asked if he could guarantee if we wouldn't have the same problem in that room he couldn't give me a straight answer. We had already unpacked everything and didn't want to go through that hassle without a guarantee. So we went back to the room and let it run for 20 minutes and it eventually got hot. So for the remaining 3 mornings, we had to set our alarms for 30 minutes earlier so we could get up and run our shower before hand. For nearly $300 a night, we felt that this was ridiculous. Old building or not, if its a problem, then either don't put people in those rooms, or get it fixed somehow. Why should anyone be subjected to an ice old shower or an inconvenience to their time because the owner hasn't done anything about it? We visited the hotel Bar, the Bourbon O'bar 3 times during our stay and each time we received TERRIBLE service. None of the bartenders were friendly to us, in fact they were pretty rude. Each time it took them at least 10 minutes to even take our order (by standing there and looking at us and not saying anything). The bar was not busy or crowded any of these times. They would then start making one of our drinks, put it down and make other people's drinks, leave and go into a back room, play on their cell phone, talk to each other, or carry the glass around while doing other things. My husband ordered an old fashioned and the alcohol was sitting in the jar with the ice for over 5 minutes while the bartender carried it around doing other things, causing it to get watered down. When making a cocktail, it should be completed from start to finish without doing other things in the middle. I ordered the Mardi Drop cocktail on 2 different days. The first time, it was actually very good. The 2nd time from a different bartender it was horrible .He also sprinkled probably a tablespoon of cinnamon on top of it (which the first didn't have) which made it nearly undrinkable. I had to stir it into the martini in order to not get a mouthful of cinnamon with each sip. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant Roux because of the bad Yelp reviews - we felt we could get a better breakfast elsewhere outside the hotel. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all unless you don't care about being comfortable or friendly service.

Just be prepared for the wall of noise if you're staying on a Friday and Saturday night and have a room facing Bourbon Street; you will need more than the sound machine and earplugs the hotel provides you. But if you're there to party hard on Bourbon Street at all the touristy bars, then you will be in your element. Depending on the side of the hotel you select when booking your room and the days you choose, you may be able to get away with just a sound machine and earplugs, or you may be getting too old and need to look elsewhere. If you stay on the courtyard side, you should have enough barriers to deflect the nonstop barrage of noise coming from all the bars and clubs on Bourbon Street, especially between Bienville and St. Ann, on a Friday and Saturday night particularly. We had a room on the third floor with a balcony overlooking Bourbon Street that gave us a great view and the opportunity to enjoy wine and cocktails as the festivities picked up steam throughout the afternoons of our stay. The bed was wicked comfortable. The set of drawers had plenty of space to put clothes with a small fridge for keeping drinks cool and leftovers from spoiling. The closet space was ample and was able to fit all of our hang-up clothing and our suitcases. There was a nice lounge chair next to the desk to chill if you didn't want to sit on the balcony. However, the bathroom was cramped and narrow with these weird double doors that could cause trouble if you are going to do business in the middle of the night. The water pressure wasn't great either and if you don't have the curtain positioned right then you're going to have a puddle. Housekeeping did come by to change our linens and provide fresh towels every day, which was appreciated. The front desk was very affable and accommodating, especially with holding out luggage when our room wasn't quite ready yet to check-in. And I liked that there was a security person checking people that were actually staying at the hotel to avoid stragglers, random drunks, and transients from entering. I didn't have the chance to use the pool while I was there, but we were busy walking around the French Quarter to really care. Same went with having anything in the restaurant for food. They did have the little mini mart on the ground floor that worked for when we needed more bottles of water that were larger than the complimentary ones. Accommodations at the hotel were solid, but just know if you stay here, you're experiencing the full Bourbon Street treatment. It is always loud at night, especially, on the weekends.
