First time eating here and the food and service were great. However, the reason it's getting a 2 is that when we tried to order the 2 for 1 fish and chips at 7pm we were told the special ends at 5. Now this would be fine IF this was listed in the menu, on the website, or ANYWHERE. Kinda shady. read more

This is actually a surprisingly good neighbourhood pub. Between the strip mall location, the misspelling (!) in the name, and the lack of good dining options in the area, I did not have high hopes for this place. Regardless I eventually decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised! They have a good variety of beer on tap, including some tasty lesser known ones like Barking Squirrel. As far as food goes, I've only had the wings here, which were tasty and big. Try the 40/Garlic Lemon Pepper sauce! I've been here three times now. There's a small patio out front, which doesn't offer much of a view, but does have a good number of tables and heaters. The one time I was there on a Thursday night (open mic night) the live music was pretty good. Overall, I'm quite happy to have a decent bar in the Doon area. It's a good step up from the other local establishments, and hopefully a sign of more to come. read more

My party of 2 sat on the bar side and the ambiance was what one would expect from a pub (sports on panels etc.). The acoustic level was moderate to low, allowing for conversation at a normal level. The server was exceptionally friendly, helpful and presentable. She timed her table visits correctly; was personable but didn't "over stay her welcome". The seating was comfortable and the general cleanliness was decent. The facilities were well supplied, clean and had a pleasant aroma. My table got 2 orders of wings, one with Zoli sauce (server warned about the heat) and the other with Honey Garlic and Hot mixed (the latter being a server suggestion). The Zoli sauce is rather high on the heat rating for most places, but has a hint of lime and is quite flavourful though cation should be taken as the heat escalates over time. The honey garlic/hot mix was great. The meat quality was decent and properly cooked. Our pitcher of GRB Rabbies was fresh, cold and crisp. It was served with chilled glasses, which were attentively replaced when emptied. Negatives: Remote location, not the most scenic view/landscaping. Summation: a recommended spot for locals and travellers though travellers may have a difficult time due to the obscure location. read more

Not returning... We have been to the new location twice. First time my husband and I ordered wraps and they were 3/4 filled with iceberg lettuce which was disappointing. Gave them a second chance and I ordered the Tex-mex beef quesadillas. There was so much grease dripping from them that it pooled in my plate. I could only stomach a small amount before pushing it aside. The waitress politely asked if I would like it packaged up. When I stated I could not eat my meal because it was so greasy, she took it away without another word. No offer to fix it or lower our bill amount. We are not returning to this establishment. When we arrived (a party of 4) I asked for a booth to sit at, as one was empty and clean. She refused and said it was for parties of 6 only. I thought alright whatever. Five minutes later she sits a party of 4 there, right beside us, did you have a problem with us or something? They advertised Moosehead at the front entrance, right on the "please wait to be seated" sign. We asked for one and they said they didn't have Moosehead in the restaurant whatsoever, bottles or on tap. Why is it being advertised? We ordered a pitcher and it took 10-15 minutes to arrive. While ordering food, my friend ordered an appetizer, and the waitress said she was going to bring it all at the same time, rather than the app. first, because the kitchen will take longer to get the rest of our food out. It was very confusing, why would we wait longer for the rest of our food? It wasn't overly busy, and the whole point of an appetizer is to have it first before your meal while your waiting. I ordered a burger with pulled pork, swiss cheese, peppercorn crust and bacon added. We waiting over a full hour for our food to arrive, a full hour. keep in mind, not overly busy, looked like a regular night to me. When the food finally arrived I received the wrong burger. Wrong cheese, no peppercorn and no pulled pork. The waitress took it back and said she would replace it. I didn't receive my burger for another 15 minutes. My friends finished eating before I received my dinner. I took one bite. Still no peppercorns, but everything else was on it, finally. It was overdone, dry, bland, and small, by small I mean the actual size of the patty. Not one redeeming quality about my dinner, other than the gravy for the fries, that was good. After 2 bites I got a to-go box, as I didn't want to sit there and have everyone watch me eat my sub-par dinner when they're already done. The waitress took $2 off my meal, because she rang in the incorrect burger, and it was $2 less than the one I ordered. I was visibly frustrated by this point, and that was all she offered. She didn't even apologize for the absurdly long wait. I understand the restaurant moved to a new location, but it's been open for a week now. And technically it's existed for years in it's old location. Basic things like being seated, advertising, appetizers, and burgers shouldn't be this painstakingly difficult. I don't often write reviews, but I was so thoroughly unsatisfied I went out of my way to write this. I will not be returning this year, I might give it a chance again later if I hear that it has improved. If I'm spending a premium at a new restaurant, I expect a premium experience, and this was worse than anything I've been to in the Kitchener/Waterloo Area as long as I've lived here. read more

Starting coming here shortly after it opened and immediately became fans. The menu had some interesting choices for a pub, such as the mussels which my wife just loved, and the best hamburger I'd had in years. We came here at least once a month, even when the menu changed and offered only pretty standard pub fare. Then the plaza it's in was remodeled and it moved across the parking lot to a brand new location. We gave them a couple months to iron out any new location bugs, then went with our son and his family, six of us in all. Absolutely everything was awful. The food, the service, the presentation, the portions. Nachos with barely any toppings, my burger was a shriveled dried disc, grandson's wings were just 6 wings dumped in a bowl, no carrot/celery sticks, not even parsley for decoration, waitress nowhere to be found after food delivered and we needed condiments, just a shitshow all around. I saw on Reddit that ours was not an isolated incident, others have had the same experience since the move. Darn shame, used to be really, really good but we'll never go back. read more

So me and my partner went here tonight for a late ish dinner when we walked in told to find a seat anywhere, cool no problem she brings menus and asks us what we would like to drink we said Pepsi and a Diet Pepsi when when she with the pop the regular pop was fine but the Diet Pepsi tasted more like carbonated water then pop, even after we had made our Waitress aware of this, she didn't offer to replace at all, at this point I went to the restroom to walk past the bar to see our waitress standing behind the bar eating Dairy Queen, while chatting up a storm with other customers, coming back walking past bar again the waitress was now talking pictures on her phone which, when getting back to our table my "pop" was still sitting there and so was my partners empty glass, when we ordered my partner ordered the brisket sandwich and I ordered the double bacon cheese burger, I have to say his brisket sandwich was by far way better then my burger, my burger didn't have any seasoning at all on it, but the best part of the burger was the cheese and the bacon! The patty of my burger was smaller then my bun. The brisket sandwich was very tasty has a good amount of meat on it and came with a very tasty gravy but not your normal kind of gravy. After food had come to the table, our waitress was no where to be found after napkins were needed at the table. I would have to say about 15 mins into our meal out waitress still hadn't come and checked on us, our meal was almost completely done before she had come over to check on us, at this point we were able to ask for napkins but at that point it was to late my pants became the napkin... after all said and done with the price of food and our experience I wouldn't go back sad to say. read more

What an awful service experience. We arrived at 1:40 on a Sunday, and they serve breakfast until 2 pm. We didn't get to order until closer to 10 minutes to 2, so we asked the server whether or not they were still serving breakfast and she said that yes they were. I ordered the house waffle, and the others in my party ordered two papa foxes, two poutines, and a mama fox. A few minutes later the waitress came out and said that they wouldn't be able to make waffles because they had cleaned up the waffle mix, so I'd have to order something else. I decided on the vegetarian eggs benedict instead. Once again, a few minutes later the waitress returned and said that they had cleaned up the hollandaise too, so again I'd have to order something else. At this point there were maybe 5 things left on the breakfast menu that they could actually make, so I ordered the morning after sanwich (their spelling not mine). Somewhere around this point the waitress also realized that the papa foxes also came with waffles and tried to remedy that situation. When the food actually came is was awful. The home fries were dried out, and I could see the plate under them there were so few as was the case with everyone else who had home fries with their meal. I asked the waitress about it and she replied "oh, that's all they gave you?" and went to ask about it. When she returned she said that that's all that they had, and offered me some fries, which I took. My friends who ordered the poutine said it was salty and not as good as before the resturaunt changed ownership. My friends who got the papa fox had to send their meals back because they gave them the wrong meats. overall a dismal meal, and for what they charged us we could have gone to Cora's for a couple of dollars more and had a delicious meal there. Next time I hope that the waitress just says "we can't serve breakfast anymore because they started to clean up the breakfast things" when asked whether or not they're still serving breakfast. read more

We are disappointed with the new Rabbid Fox. Staff are fine, environment is good but the menu has been significantly dummied down. No roast beef, no liver and onions, no curried chicken, no schnitzel. Just basic pub food. Bring back the good food! read more

I live in the neighbourhood and unfortunately there aren't many other places to grab a pint and some pub grub so my hubby and I have been here a few times, but not once have we been satisfied. Although they have a lot of great beer options, the food and music totally flops. Some of the musicians are talented, many not so much, and there is nothing more obnoxious to me than going out with friends and not being able to enjoy our time together because there is a band blaring over all conversation. This place seriously needs to consider dialing back the over-indulged basement bands. The food is consistently bland and questionable. Antijitos with no flavour, greasy burgers, and tasteless perogies. The only item we've ever enjoyed was a potato soup that was once on special. Unfortunately this obviously doesn't keep us from going there because it is so convenient, but if you have other options I recommend reconsidering! read more

Attended this establishment because of their Sunday wing deal, was sorrily disappointed. Upon our arrival we were asked for drinks. The waitress was uncertain of what the house brew even tasted like. A pitcher was ordered and took about 10 minutes to arrive, even though it was not very busy. We ordered their "Jumbo sized Wings" and ordered a variety of flavours. When they arrived we were very disappointed to see that these wings were anything but Jumbo. Even more of a disappointment was actually tasting the wings. All of the flavours were very bland and we were unable to tell the difference between the three, other than one which claimed to be a smoked BBQ flavour. Throughout the experience the waitress didn't seem to be very interested in our satisfaction. Overall it was a very bad experience, and would not go back there. read more

Wait staff are fantastic, but food has gone downhill over the past year. Menu has solid choices, perhaps they are sourcing their ingredients from a new vendor or kitchen staff has had a lot of turnover, but the meal has been subpar the last four visits. Sadly, think we're switching to Edelweiss, where wait staff are not as accommodating but food is consistent. Solid choice if your sticking to beer and wings. read more
