Tiriamisu tarts and mint chocolate brownies

We discovered The Rabbit Hole Bakery late on a Friday evening while we were staying in the Lincoln NE area... Our traveling companions were celebrating their 31st wedding anniversary and we saw online The Rabbit Hole Bakery offered individual sweets and cake by the slice. Parking can be a little rough in the Haymarket area on Friday and Saturday evenings, but we got lucky and found a spot on the street a block and a half away or so. It was about 20 min to close so we grabbed a few items to go. The items can seem a little pricey... $4 to $8 ea, but everything tasted fresh and we enjoyed everything we tried. 2x Chocolate mint brownie 2x Tiramisu tarts 1x Slice of carrot cake 1x Slice of German chocolate cake 1x Piece of German chocolate cheesecake. The atmosphere is cozy and I could definitely see enjoying a cup of coffee and a plate there in the bakery space on a different day... Sitting below street level it's decor is mostly dark wood and dimly lit outside of the front counter area. I hesitate to say romantic, but looking back into when I was doing the online thing..., it wouldn't be a bad spot to meet someone for the first time before committing to a formal date... You know what I mean?

I ordered the avocado gluten-free dairy free brownie yesterday. It was very good not overly sweet but the spot I enjoyed. I was a little bummed out that they don't open a little bit earlier to grab some coffee before my meetings. Maybe next time.. I went back today and got another brownie 5.95 so that I could eat it on the airplane. I was a little disappointed, I couldn't try the coffee with the dollar latte coupon I had because they did not have any decaf coffee as it was 5 PM at night as I stated maybe next time. Ambience is really cute. It's all Allison in Wonderland has a huge bookshelf. I didn't take a picture, but it seems like a really nice place to kinda hang out and have a dessert and coffee. Both times the service was good

We popped in for a quick breakfast and were a little late to the party. There were just a few cinnamon rolls left on a Saturday morning, and I understand why you'd wake up early for them. So fluffy and rich! The espresso drink menu was extensive (and they have cocktails). We just grabbed our rolls and enjoyed them on the patio. The inside is very cute and decorated with an Alice in Wonderland vibe.

A delightful little tea shop/bakery With Alice in Wonderland theme. The coffee, tea, mimosa and cake were out of this world delicious. Will definitely be back to sample other goodies there!

We stopped by in a Friday evening for drinks. I know, drinks in a bakery? But surprisingly they have some really good adult drinks. We had the equivalency of a Manhattan. Just the right amount of bitters vs alcohol. We didn't try any baked goods. We will save that for our next trip. If you find all the regular drink stops full, don't forget to stop here. Well worth it. It gets five stars instead of four because they use really Luxardo cherries in their drinks and our water glasses were kept full.

This was a really fun, Alice in Wonderland themed basement location, with very friendly customer service and delicious pastries.

Tiramisu was good, blond brownie was harder than a rock. Why would you serve a dry, hard brownie?

The food may be ok and the service adequate, but the ambiance is ruined by the owner's attitudes toward women and the LGBTQ community.

I searched Yelp for bakeries in Lincoln, ordered by rating and came across Emma Bakes. My first concern was that the reviews were from a year ago and later so I called to make sure they still existed. Once I confirmed I checked the map and found that they are located on O street. This left me wondering what parking would be like, but then I remembered I lived in Nebraska and even if it was street parking only I'd have options. Their location is on the South side of O street and comes complete with plenty of off-street parking. The shop is small but has a nice bright yellow sign out front and an yellow interior accent wall inside as well as plants and pastry cases. Each pastry is made on site and comes in its own resealable packaging. The proprietor, who I expect is Emma was kind and helpful. I selected 4 items and headed for home. I got an egg tart, a sausage and cheese bun, garlic bread, and a strawberry and cream cheese pastry. I started with the sausage and cheese bun, the non-sausage parts were a bit salty, not in a bad way, just a bit off. The sausage looked more like a hot dog than any special type of seasoned link. I have to say, after eating this I was concerned about the other items (I'd give this item 3 stars). Next I tried the egg tart, it was the last one in the store and the star of the other reviews I read. Oh my goodness, this was incredible, the crunchy-crispiness of the crust and the creamy subtle flavor of the center, it was perfection. Had there been more in the case I might have gone back and ordered a half dozen. Once my wife got home we split the strawberry pastry, it was also a solid five stars, great homemade filling, light flaky pastry dough, delightful. Finally, I cut into the garlic bread, it had quite a lot of cheese inside, tasted great and had a strong garlic kick. Overall, I will be back, either when they open or just after 1pm when the afternoon batch of pastries comes out of the ovens. Oh, and I should mention, they offer Banh Mi as well, I'll have to try those as well next time.

Omgosh EGG TARTS! It's like impossible to find fresh egg tarts in Nebraska. This place has so many…read morevariety unfortunately I showed up in the late afternoon and everything was mostly sold out! They apparently sell out early by 10:00 so you know it's good! I got custard buns, red bean, & egg tarts! The custard bun was nice and subtle, everything has the perfect amount of sweetness. The prices ranges from 2.50-3.50+ I can't wait to come early to see what other options they have. There's no Asian bakery in the town so it's great that they have this option!
