The prices are fairly reasonable and everything I tried is exactly what I'd expect. Both were delicious but nothing mind blowing. Overall pretty average. Worth trying if you get something that isn't simple. I didn't get a specialty drink as it was just an iced coffee with milk and caramel, however my girlfriend got the "little J" smoothie and there wasn't a whole lot of flavor. A very literal coffee house (in a former house) and the perfect antithesis of the sterile and corporate feel of the Starbucks just two blocks away. Stopped in here this morning with my girlfriend and eight-year-old son. My son got a plain bagel with cream cheese and a smoothie and loved both. My girlfriend got a coffee, smoothie and breakfast sandwich and liked all three. I got a chai and a breakfast sandwich. Loved the sandwich but wasn't a fan of the chai. Maybe I'm ruined by the over sweetness of chai from other coffee shops, but this one tasted a little dull and even a touch of saltiness to it that I wasn't expecting. Came here for a quick stop to grab something to eat, and it ended up taking a very long time for two salads. The young ladies working had very poor boundaries with their conversations/ complaining about being at work in front of customers. They also missed the customers in front of us' drinks. We heard the staff complaining that they didn't have any avocado amongst themselves, which was supposed to come on my mom and I's salad, and then they just brought the salads to us with no avocado and no mention of it. So, my 14 dollar salad consisted of tomato, cheese, spinach, and deli meat. The dirty dishes area also clearly had been neglected for some time. Was not good. I spent 3 mornings here and I was really pleased with this coffee shop tucked away in downtown Gettysburg. The coffee was fantastic and they had a really nice space. If you purchase a large coffee you get free refills, which was actually really awesome. You can drink the first cup in the store and then just before you leave, fill 'er up again. I really appreciated this. Would be a great spot to read the paper, meet with friends or get some work done. There were a lot of tables and space to spread out. I enjoyed just sipping my coffee while in their room filled with art from local artists. It was a nice touch to a local coffee shop. They even have a section of books written by local authors. That's the kind of thing you want from a locally owned shop, a connection and commitment to the community. Even though I was just a visitor for a weekend, I would plan on returning here if I ever come back to town. And I'll certainly recommend this shop as a place for friends to travel if they ever visit. Came here around 11am on Sunday, place wasn't that busy and ordered a breakfast sandwich, after I ordered and the cashier rang me up she says just to let you know anything that needs to be made or heated up will be a 45 minute wait. I then relay we will just take a piece of quiche that was below and she goes we would need to use the microwave so it's a 45 minute wait...no I am not kidding LOL. I am just sad for the owners as they surely lost a load of business with the terrific staff of three in a fairly empty cafe turning down business. If you are a follower of me please do me a favor and do not come here. So I'm kind of disappointed with my experience here. I'd seen great things about this place on Yelp and wanted to try it for my second coffee of the day. I walked in and was intrigued by the frozen cherry vanilla latte. Well when I got it, you can't taste either flavor, and the barista put it in a hot to go cup, not a plastic one that you would typically put iced drinks in? It was raining that day, so my cup disintegrated in my hand before I could even fully drink my coffee. Very sad, given the price that I paid. The blueberry bar I got though was good. read more

I probably would have sautéed the spinach, but the wrap was delicious nonetheless. I would order it again. The only reason for a four rather than five star review was the service. It was fast and the person delivering the sandwich was friendly, but the front counter and manager (?) did not seem thrilled with customers asking questions. I think the guy is new, so it may just be discomfort related to a learning curve. There is a front and back room to the right of the counter. They are a little tight , space wise, but good enough. We got drip coffee, a bagel and a breakfast sandwich. The coffee was in airpots near the counter and extras are to the right in the front of the dining area. They have a really good selection , with some all natural options as well as the traditional ones. We took a seat and a few minutes later our food was brought to us . Very interesting to see, I walked in when the doors opened. I grabbed my coffee and sat by the fireplace. Then, a local delivery truck with farm fresh eggs stopped at the coffee house. All week long I've been trying to avoid chain restaurants (Except Crackerbarrel, I had to stop) It was nice see local folks delivering their goods. I wasn't in the mood for a bagel with eggs, I wanted something different so I ordered coffee and oatmeal with fresh fruit. The coffeehouse is quaint, peppered with books and posters, there is an outdoor deck to sit and sip. It was too chilly to sit outside so close to the fireplace is where I settled in. The coffee was great, the oatmeal? It was a thick piece of oats surrounded by fruit. It came with a small container of hot milk that when I added it to the bowl, I had a tasty treat. I also had to buy a freshly baked cookie to have with my coffee. I enjoyed the java as well as the freshly baked goods. Stopped by for some coffee on a rainy day while traveling to and from Liberty Mountain. There is a second floor but it was blocked for no indoor dining, a cozy little fireplace, and a lot of books to pick from. We ended up getting 2 small cinnamon sugar lattes from their holiday menu. It was really good and the flavors were great and I love that they use a lot on cinnamon in the drink so that you can taste it, but if you get it I suggest being a little cautious at the end of your drink because the cinnamon builds up and are in little lumps. Maybe stir it around a little when nearing the end of your cup. With the pandemic there was no indoor seating, but you can still sit outside on the patio while enjoying your drinks and any meals you order. Overall I enjoyed the experience. read more

August 9, 2022 We were riding the scooter through Gettysburg and found this little gem. There is quaint outside seating as well as inside seating. I got a chocolate hazelnut cold brew with almond milk and a "Sheriff" which is egg, spinach, pesto and feta on a whole wheat wrap. My wife got the baked oatmeal. We didn't wait more than five minutes for the food and it was phenomenal on both counts. Why 4 stars instead of 5? While the staff were not unfriendly or rude by any means, they were bland I kinda felt as if we were invading their space. Nobody cracked a smile even after they immediately asked what we wanted when we walked in and I asked for a minute and stated this was our first time here. read more

Service has always been questionable. Orders for the table rarely come out at once. A recent DoorDash order was missing items and it was not the dasher's fault. It was just never put in the bag. Came here for breakfast on a sunday morning with a group of four. They were busy and honest up front about the wait time. I think the food came out sooner than they said it would anyway, so all was well. Very quaint interior with nice areas to wait/eat. The upstairs has some couches with books and toys too. Very cozy. Staff were nice enough although it was clear that many were still in the learning process. The baked oatmeal was surprisingly good! Had a smoothie which was good and you could tell there was actual fruit inside. It was in a to go cup for hot foods for some reason and a bit on the thick side. Had to get a spoon to eat it. And the banana which they used was frozen (which is fine) but a lot of it was still in a frozen ball in the center of the drink. Also had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich which came with a hashbrown on it. Solid. Nothing spectacular but done well. Prices were reasonable. All in all generally good experience. They were busy and said drinks would take about 20 minutes. I appreciated the honesty and placed an order for four drinks. About 15 minutes later, I received three of the drinks and waited for my "red eye" ... Coffee with a shot of espresso. Then, I watched as other orders after mine were made. Lattes, cappuccinos, smoothies, etc. After 40 minutes total, I asked if they still had my red eye in the queue. The guy making drinks said, "You'll get it when it's done." Rude! Later, my son wanted a smoothie, so I placed an order for a smoothie. Then, I witnessed the person making the smoothie use her bare hands to grab the strawberries and put them in the blender cup. Then she walked away, grabbed a band aid and put it on her finger ... Same hand that handled the strawberries. I approached her and said, "You cannot handle food like that with your bare hands, especially since you have a cut ... It's a health violation." She asked if I would like her to make a new one, and I said I just wanted a refund. She walked away, talked to someone about the situation, and I waited to hear back. About 10 minutes passed, and no one came to me about the refund, so I got back in the line where you place an order. When I finally got to the counter, I simply said I ordered a smoothie and wanted a refund. To his credit, he went into the computer and issued the refund without questioning it, but it's sad that I had to be the one to force their hand. I used to go to the place quite a bit when I lived here years ago, and unfortunately, I've been out of the state with the military. Now that I am back, it's clear this place has gone dramatically downhill. Untrained, rude staff, and no one cares about customer service. I understand they get a lot of tourists ... It's just sad they don't care about locals. We're the ones who give them repeat business. read more
