However, they cut it down without any issues, removed the tree, and ground the stump down so that nothing was visible. 10 Stars. Trust the other reviews, this company is legit. Tom and his crew are the epitome of hard work and professionalism. We have (had) a huge tree in the front yard that apparently died during the snow last year. Branches were falling whenever it rained or there was high wind. LARGE branches that would easily damage the cars in the driveway or worse injure someone. Called Stump Busters for a quote and Tom showed up the very next day (might have even been the same day) and gave me price to remove the tree and the stump. At the time he was booked for about a week and a half out, but we really needed the job done and I trusted the company so we agreed. I got a text the next day asking if it would be okay if Tom came over between his other scheduled appointments to work on the tree because he was worried the loose branches were going to fall and do damage to the cars. Tom showed up a day later with his crew and cut the tree down to about 10 feet. I could hear branches cracking and falling to the street, I was honestly worried for his team. After a few hours all the branches were gone and we just had a large stump in the ground. I was shocked at how quickly and efficiently they tore down this monster. (See photo) Before he left, his crew cleaned the street of all debris and sawdust plus all the massive branches that I had accumulated over the past two weeks. He said we would be back in about a 10 days with the stump-remover-machine (not official title) to pull what remained of the tree out of the ground. Sure enough, a few days later I got a text that Tom was coming over the next morning at 7:30 am to finish the job which included digging a pretty deep hole to remove the majority of the roots that were practically little trees themselves, and pulling the stump out. Tom finished way ahead of the agreed upon schedule and even impressed the neighborhood who watched him work (Tom left some wood for my neighbor who asked if he could have some for the pit in his backyard; he cut the pieces to a manageable size and put them aside to be collected later). 5 STARS!!! I got three bids and Tom and his team were the best price and the best end service. The estimate phase was very indepth down to the explaination of my trees, process and his simple laser pointer really helped me see quickly where each cut would be made. The other tree companies just sent an estimator out who was not certified nor aborists. Tom is and he is the only one who gives his estimates and he is there with his team instrucing them during the whole phase. He doesnt climb in the trees either. Tom and his crew were by early this morning, right on time. The stump was growing on top of my driveway, with the water line several feet away. Tom's team was able to take the stump down a little below the surface AND remove the section growing on top of the driveway. The clean up was amazing. The price was very reasonable. Oh my God talk about AFFORDABLE high quality tree trimming services and even removal ( I didn't get the removal done because I didn't need it for the rental property, but for the price they were offering to remove TWO massive, overgrown trees on my fence line I would have done it in a heartbeat if it were my primary home). Tom is phenomenal!!! He showed up on time to the estimate, pointed out the trim areas with a laser to make it easier to visualize, and gave me my estimate before he left. On the day of trimming, he again showed up on time, reviewed what we had previously discussed, and then did all the trimming himself with another crew member there to work on the clean up as they went. I had a tree which died in my front yard, and it was leaning over the fence and swing set in my back yard. When the bark started cracking and falling off, we decided it was time to take the tree down. After struggling to get one limb out of the tree, I decided this task was beyond my abilities. I spoke with a some different companies and had dismal responses; outrageous quotes, more work recommended than I wanted, and even a company that wouldn't release the estimate to me! But then I found the Real Stump Busters. I was able to contact them easily via Yelp, and had great interactions from the start with Sandy. I debated on the timeline in which the tree needed to come down, but I decided I was flexible since Sandy stated it would be the beginning of May before they could remove the tree. Sandy scheduled a time for Tom to come out immediately, however, to look at the tree and provide an estimate. Tom was kind and courteous when he arrived at my home. He asked what I wanted to have done, and we discussed the tree. Tom didn't try to push more work on me like the other services, nor was he "pushy" about getting my business. He provided a fair and very reasonable estimate to me, and he wished me well and to be careful if I chose to continue the work myself. After only small deliberation, we decided to schedule a time with the Real Stump Busters to have the tree removed. It was only a few weeks until May, and I was pleased with both the way Sandy and Tom treated me. Not only was the bid a better price, but they were going to do more than the other Co. had promised to do. They are a 2011 Angie's list Super Service Award recipient, and I can see why. Everything about the transaction was professional. Tom had like new equipment, plenty of trained crew, and all the safety gear to do the job right.
