I chose Texas Hill Country Trees because their reviews and ratings were the strongest, simple as that. Our backyard is all artificial turf and rock, so I was nervous about damage. Jeff sent a quote within 24 hours, included his insurance, and reassured me they work over turf all the time. That alone gave me peace of mind. The quote was fair, and the crew came out the very next day. They showed up on time, got straight to work, and every single person was professional. Before anyone looks at the photos I'm posting, I want to point something out. I knew going in that I'd have some cleanup to do afterward. With the amount of work needed, especially grinding down the stump, I wasn't expecting the area to look perfect. They're tree trimmers, removers, arborists, not landscapers. And honestly, considering the work involved, they left the space in great shape. The rest is just me doing the final touches so it looks the way I prefer it. Blame it on my OCD. As for the one‑star review calling Jake rude, I'm sure there are two sides to that story, because my experience with him was completely different. I arrived about an hour after they started, and Jake introduced himself immediately. He walked me through what they were doing and explained how they were protecting the turf. Jake, an employee of Texas Hill Country Trees LLC, along with the crew operating truck TL-926669, acted in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner. The crew blocked my driveway while performing work in the neighborhood and showed little regard for common courtesy or respect toward neighboring residents. Before the issue escalated, I politely informed the crew that I would be leaving soon and that they would need to move their vehicle. I initially allowed them additional time to continue working. However, after they ignored my requests made from my front doorway, I was forced to approach Jake and the crew directly to clarify what they were doing was illegal and I need to go to work. Despite my repeated requests, they became argumentative and used profanity toward me, including calling me a "bitch," when I confronted them and insisted that they stop blocking my driveway and move their vehicle immediately. When I arrived home approximately five to six hours later, I discovered several trash bags filled with organic waste left on my side of the alleyway located between their client's residence (my neighbor's property) and my own. The waste appeared to have been left behind by the crew, further demonstrating a lack of professionalism, consideration, and proper cleanup practices. I found the behavior of both Jake and partially the crew to be highly disrespectful, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Please do your due diligence when hiring so called, "professionals." read more

Awesome Service! I had a huge tree fall on top of the roof after a storm. They gave me an estimate via email the same morning and had someone out that afternoon to cut the tree up and place it next to the street to be ready for removal. They also removed the debris within the week. I appreciated that they included grinding the stump in the estimate and provided a copy of their insurance. We needed two very tall fan palms trimmed. many companies did not want to come out to our location for what they considered a smaller project. Not only was Jeff very accommodating about providing us with an estimate, but the price was very fair. He worked with us to get the work completed in a timely manner, working around the times we had guests and could not have tree work done. We had another company remove a tree in 2018, and they didn't kill the root system. We were overrun by "sucker" trees coming up everywhere. Cody and his crew come out Monday morning and the job to remove a very large tree was completed by early afternoon. Some of the large overgrown branches were over my neighbors roof and they took great care while working! Trimmed some other branches that were hanging over the roof of my house as well. After 6 bids, I selected Texas Hill Country Trees to be very reasonable and fairly priced compared to the other companies I called. They were not the lowest bid I received but they were not the highest bid either. I chose this company because of the interaction I had with the owner of the company, Jeff. He was very professional and attentive to my needs and concerns about cutting oak trees during oak wilt season. He was extremely positive, informative, and explained what needed to be done in layman terms. I received a written proposal along with a copy of his liability insurance the same day as my consultation. The only drawback I can think of was that I had to wait a bit before I could get on the schedule to get the work done. I almost gave up on waiting but I can tell you now that it was worth the wait.
