For some reason the reviews were not great but we decided to give The Abbey a try and we are glad we did! We were seated immediately . We explained to our server Sally they my wife is Gluten free and she was super helpful. They offer a nice menu with a wide variety of food options. We started with their drink specials..a frozen vodka drink and a Redemption bourbon double. Prices were super cheap in our opinion. My wife had the baby back ribs with mixed vegetables and they fell off the bone. Sauce was amazing. I had their Surf and Turf special . Steak was cooked just right and the shrimp stuffed with crab meat were very good. Portions were huge and unfortunately we could not take anything home since we were staying at a hotel. This is a family owned and operated that feels like home. Decor is really cool and definitely a place to stop in whether just for drinks, appetizers, burgers or steaks.

The service was great and our waitress made really good suggestions since we weren't familiar with the menu and I needed gluten friendly modifications. We both ordered cocktails which were served up quickly while we waited for dinner. Everything came out just as ordered and was delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to come back when in the area again.

My favorite meal in the U.S. happened when we were passing through the small city of Quincy. I saw online that this place had a pretty good salad bar, so after watching the sunset by the river, we came over specifically to try it. Service The staff were incredibly nice. Since we were foreigners, it took us a little while to order because we had to use Google Translate. Our server was very patient--she brought us our drinks first and gave us plenty of time to figure things out. She even told us a little joke to make us feel less awkward, although unfortunately I didn't quite catch it. Anyway, once we finally ordered, she told us we could go help ourselves at the salad bar. I asked, "Is it just one trip?" and she said, "Don't worry, I'm not going to count." That was great. Food The salad bar was honestly fantastic. It had one of my favorite things: broccoli, paired with a fairly light ranch dressing. I went through two full plates of it that evening. I honestly felt like I was the only person in the whole restaurant going crazy over the broccoli, because when I first started taking some, that tray looked almost completely untouched. There were plenty of other options too: two kinds of creamy soup, four or five types of bread, all kinds of leafy greens, macaroni, mushrooms, and more. Honestly, as a Chinese guy, I could have eaten very happily--and very well--on the salad bar alone. I ordered the Baked Salmon. Well... it was basically a piece of chilled salmon that had been baked, but the real star was the sweet-and-savory sauce. I couldn't quite figure out what was in it, but overall it was very good. The salmon was cooked just right: the sauce and the surface of the fish had developed a slightly crisp, caramelized crust, without the salmon becoming overcooked. When I make salmon myself, I like to roast it with lots of cherry tomatoes and lemon to cut through the fishiness. Their approach worked well too--the sauce and the browning helped balance out quite a bit of the fishy flavor. My companion ordered a steak and gave me a small piece. It was medium well, and pretty good too. Atmosphere The atmosphere was nice. There were regular dining tables as well as a large U-shaped bar, very much the kind of classic American restaurant I had imagined. There was also a fairly large waiting area just inside the entrance, which made it obvious that this place probably gets very busy during peak hours.

The Salad Bar was wonderful as usual, the Cinnamon Roll was amazing, the Monday night special was "Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Corn " that's what was advertised, well what I got was a surprise but it was good

It was tasty but in order to eat the shrimp, you actually had to use your fingers to pull the tails off! Who does that? And who wants alfredo sauce all over their fingers? This visit, I decided to try as described on the menu... OVER-THE-TOP CHEDDAR BURGER - This half-pound burger is cooked to order and smothered in cheddar cheese until it spills out over the patty. A "must try" for any cheese-lover. Little did I know, the cheddar seemed to be cooked on the grill until it spreads out like a pancake, bubbled with crunchy edges and then placed on the burger. The cheese pancake was twice the size of the burger and the edges was hard & crunchy. I'm not one to eat crunchy cheese so I broke off all of the crunchy edges which became a mess, so I could actually pick up & hold the burger with my hands. I'm someone who likes soft melted cheese on my burger. The burger was properly cooked but needed some seasoning and they give you an overwhelmingly amount of crinkle fries (the best kind). Next time, I will order the classic burger with American cheese. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere and the server was attentive to me as a guest. I'll give them another chance.

She said all apps are half off and some cocktails. I asked her what cocktails and she wasn't sure, no problem. I decided to order three appetizers as I'm a big fan of Chilis triple dipper. I ordered nachos, stuffed mushrooms, and wings. I also ordered a lemon drop martini. Starting with the nachos, they gave me sour cream and salsa on the side which was nice but something I didn't understand as the menu said they were already included. They should've included the corn on the side as well then. The nachos were regular nachos but the thing that made them stand out was how some of the chicken bites were straight up burnt. Next onto the wings, the wings were okay. I ordered the pineapple and the BBQ ones. Both were not horrible just a tad bit more salty than I expected but they were big which I appreciated. Finally the stuffed mushrooms; they were okay as well. If you asked me what is in them I would not be able to tell you but the taste wasn't bad. I was more worried about all that liquid that was on the plate. The best item I had was the lemon drop martini as I think my bartender just gave me 90% vodka and 10% lemonade. Oh and the funny part is all appetizers aren't half off apparently because I just got one appetizer half off from the bill, so I guess it's limit 1. This would've been solved if they had an actual menu or the waitress was informed. In total I paid about $45. At that price point just go somewhere else.

We had a salad to begin with and it was fine, but when we said it was cold she said do you want us to re cook it ? She said sorry but barely. When she told us the side salad was 5.89 we kind of looked at each other and then she crumpled up the ticket in our face and said "never mind" ! pretty sad for a manager not to be kind to her customers. The place they sat us was by a waitress stand where they put in ticket orders and she kept throwing dishes in the bus bucket and very loudly. We were trying to have a peaceful lunch. Flys in the windows and crap all over the area we had to look at if we would have stayed to eat. Very very disappointed.
