    The sauces

My family was hungry after a long day of traveling and we didn't want to so much further to find food somebody decided just to walk across the parking lot and try this place out. The Smoky smells a meat walking across the parking lot where enough to draw us in. Great BBQ joint with that quintessential rustic charm including old signs, farming equipment, and barn wood adorning the walls. Large menu with a lot to choose from. You decided to settle on a barbecue feast that fed 2 to 4 people for only $41. Great value for our family of 5. We got to sample the ribs, pulled pork, and BBQ chicken with sides of beans, coleslaw, corn, cornbread, and French fries. Everything was great. The sauce assortment was spot on and offered enough variety for all the different food items. My family especially loved the cornbread and the ribs but everything was very good. We left full and satisfied and at only 40 bucks to feed a family, not hard on the wallet. I highly recommend this place.

    Brisket, I just picked up.

The brisket was dry, the ribs look chewed up! The sides and the Texas toast was the only thing edible. The cornbread muffin was old. I never need to try again. I'm eating at Fat Backs from now on!!

I had mixed reviews for this place from people but I needed to try it for myself. They have parking outside and lots of indoor and outdoor seating! It is right next to the micro hotel which is a little sketch. We went during the week around the time it was opening. Was not crowded like it usually is when we drive by. Our waiter was so nice. The whole staff was super nice. There is so much to look at in here, cool signs and cool old school stuff. They have a full bar and have weekly specials. I ordered the Angry Beaver which was a weekly special of $5. It was tasty. Just I can't drink a lot of that kind of stuff. The waiter kept bringing sodas out for my boyfriend. Also I over heard him remember someone else's order that seemed to be a regular. He was so friendly. I ordered the brisket platter, it said it was piled high on Texas toast. I'm not crazy about Texas toast and I didn't think it was piled high. It was not the best brisket but it was good. But the sauces they have here are so bomb. The gold sauce is my absolutely favorite. The spicy and sweet were too good as well! I loved the baked beans and the potato wedges. My boyfriend ordered the brisket Mac burger. He really loved it. It looked tasty! I ate his pickles, I don't care for sweet pickles but they were sooooo flavorful! So from other peoples opinions we decided we really enjoyed it and will be returning.

Fast, friendly service. Food was good, if not exceptional. The Angry Beaver is very good!

My daughter and I were in the area and love bbq so it was a no brainer that we'd stop by. The vibe is rustic and we liked it. They offer daily specials and had a diverse menu with lots to choose from. We went with sharing a platter and getting a kids meal for the toddler my daughter was caring for. On our platter we chose bbq chicken, brisket, corn, bbq beans and green beans. It also came with a corn muffin. The kids meal was pulled pork and mac n cheese. The food was good, but not quite to my taste preferences. I prefer more seasoning on dishes. The bbq beans had a tomato kinda taste where I would prefer more of a bbq taste... I did enjoy the brisket and WOW the corn muffin! My daughter thought it was good. We did get drinks as well and I can vouch that their sweet tea is homemade and delicious! The kids meal was a nice size and came with a drink. I liked that they had sauces on the table - my fave was the spicy. I also liked the paper towels on the tables because these dishes were messy! They have a salad bar that maybe has a daily entree offering... I was a bit confused about it, but saw other people using it and would like to try it next time I'm there. The employees worked together to assist the tables and that was nice. Our server was helpful when we asked questions. PS. Check in on Yelp before you pay for a free drink offer.

While only offering this delicious dining option on Sundays, I'd be completely remiss for not giving #ThePatio their props here on Yelp! Should you choose to dine at the bar, Beck will take Excellent care of you! ‍ She's very friendly, efficient, remembers her customers better than Many I have ever met in the service industry, and always answers any random question I come up with about the food/drinks/restaurant. (For instance, did you know that The Patio is the ONLY location you can get served #TopecaCoffee locally!!?!? - https://topecacoffee.com This beautiful hot bean liquid is Sincerely delicious enough that I can Almost drink it without cream lol ) The Patio offers both a #BloodyMary and #Mimosa flight, as well as other delicious alcoholic And non-alcoholic options. The Piece De Resistance, IMO, is the rich and savory, Decadent, Croque Madame. ‍ A friend once described it as "that fancy hot ham and cheese!" and they weren't entirely wrong. lol Served on locally made sourdough toast, the fried ham and distinctly tasty Gruyère cheese, meld seamlessly with an (accomplished) béchamel sauce. The "sunny side up" egg rests on top of the sandwich, with but even a bit more sauce in between. To have found this dish so well executed in one of our local restaurants was the best culinary surprise of 2025 so far!!!! Thank You! Overall, the Ambiance, great service, and attention to QUALITY food and drink, definitely make this a #SundayBrunch stop not to be missed! (A small side note: While their Dinner menu is equally yum, the price point on their #Brunch menu is Extremely reasonable, and won't offend your pocketbook quite as much. Don't be scared, just do it!!! Lol) A few little extras I also enjoy are their Grits, 6.5 minute eggs, (Only Beck knows!), and the Stuffed French Toast! #Enjoy -LL

My favorite meal in the U.S. happened when we were passing through the small city of Quincy. I saw online that this place had a pretty good salad bar, so after watching the sunset by the river, we came over specifically to try it. Service The staff were incredibly nice. Since we were foreigners, it took us a little while to order because we had to use Google Translate. Our server was very patient--she brought us our drinks first and gave us plenty of time to figure things out. She even told us a little joke to make us feel less awkward, although unfortunately I didn't quite catch it. Anyway, once we finally ordered, she told us we could go help ourselves at the salad bar. I asked, "Is it just one trip?" and she said, "Don't worry, I'm not going to count." That was great. Food The salad bar was honestly fantastic. It had one of my favorite things: broccoli, paired with a fairly light ranch dressing. I went through two full plates of it that evening. I honestly felt like I was the only person in the whole restaurant going crazy over the broccoli, because when I first started taking some, that tray looked almost completely untouched. There were plenty of other options too: two kinds of creamy soup, four or five types of bread, all kinds of leafy greens, macaroni, mushrooms, and more. Honestly, as a Chinese guy, I could have eaten very happily--and very well--on the salad bar alone. I ordered the Baked Salmon. Well... it was basically a piece of chilled salmon that had been baked, but the real star was the sweet-and-savory sauce. I couldn't quite figure out what was in it, but overall it was very good. The salmon was cooked just right: the sauce and the surface of the fish had developed a slightly crisp, caramelized crust, without the salmon becoming overcooked. When I make salmon myself, I like to roast it with lots of cherry tomatoes and lemon to cut through the fishiness. Their approach worked well too--the sauce and the browning helped balance out quite a bit of the fishy flavor. My companion ordered a steak and gave me a small piece. It was medium well, and pretty good too. Atmosphere The atmosphere was nice. There were regular dining tables as well as a large U-shaped bar, very much the kind of classic American restaurant I had imagined. There was also a fairly large waiting area just inside the entrance, which made it obvious that this place probably gets very busy during peak hours.
