We were recommended to try this place for a Sunday roast lunch - it was the most tasteless meal I've ever eaten. The roast beef was pink and sinewy - really took a lot of chewing to get through it and it was like chewing gum that has lost its flavor. The roasties were nice and crisp but tasted so bland I had to smother them in mustard and horseradish. The Yorkshire pudding looked great but tasted of nothing and the thin watery gravy did not add anything to the pudding. Other veggies were shredded savoy cabbage and carrots - both singularly lacking in flavor. I left everything but the potatoes. I was forced to drink most of our bottle of wine as we were not allowed to take it with us under the licensing rules - which we were not told before we bought it. So too much wine on an almost empty stomach has left me with a headache. Not an experience I wish to repeat. The waiter apologised but that did me no good. read more
