Both have run similar models since the 3+ years we have lived here, and probably since COVID started in 2020: this model being take out only. By offering this model, they have managed to keep both locations in business, and the citizens of Prescott sane. I have heard that both were operated by... brothers? Cousins? Not sure, but they were related. I used to like the other restaurant better, until recently, when both opened for dine-in as well as continued take out; I had ordered a dish at the other place that I had liked better than here (however, to be fair, I cannot know recall what that dish was! Time to sample and compare again.) On the other hand, I have also heard that both locations have recently changed hands, so we shall see what the future holds. We recently had cause to dine in at this restaurant, and they were accommodating for our group of 11 or 12 people. Service was pleasant, if a bit flustered; one waitress was serving all the guests in the restaurant. Once the other diners were taken care of, and her attention was focused on us, things went more smoothly. The food was good, and the service was attentive from this point forward. There were even a few bits of the meal packaged to take-home (so I guess Chinese take out never really goes out of style!) I loved the decor here; we were in the 2nd dining room, where our chatter would not interfere with the other guests. The space is nicely decorated. There's even an old fireplace in this room. There's a stage in one section and they regularly offer music. And there's a bar section, so you can come in just for drinks. The tables are inviting, set with glass ware and white square dishes at each place setting. We've been to Renegadz in Prescott twice now, once for brunch and the other for dinner. Brunch was good, but this is a dinner place, dinner was even better. I guess the place gives a better dinner vibe although food was good both times. For dinner, hubby and me ordered steaks, but I got a baked potato and hubby got wedgie potatoes. Comes with Al dente vegetables. Really good! But one of our friends ordered fish, and it looked amazing! I could hardly believe the size of the piece he got! He took half home for lunch the next day. He said it was delicious. His wife ordered fettuccine Alfredo, and it was good - she finished all of it. And we ordered deserts. Three of us requested turtles cheesecake, but hubby ordered a chocolate cake. Finally this past week we gave it a try and were most impressed! Like many small town diners/taverns in New York state, Vinn's is a local watering hole with great comfort food. I was delighted with the chicken and biscuits on mashed potatoes and gravy. My wife had a most tasty ham sandwich with fries that were delightfully crunchy on the outside but wonderfully soft on the inside....probably the best we ever ate. The staff were friendly and attentive, and even provided us with a free pass for the bridge fare on the way back to Canada. Other customers recommended the wings and onion rings, which we will definitely try on our next trip there. All in all, a great little place with wonderful comfort food. The location is actually quite convenient for drive by traffic because there's not much traffic in a town this size and you can hop off and back on to the highway. It is located in an industry park so plenty of parking spaces. The restaurant is also the supplier for Spanish ingredients for restaurant, so they mostly face business clients, but the owner turned the showroom to a restaurant, which is a cool concept. The restaurant has one table in winter months and most does take out so be sure to reserve it, it has a patio space outdoor in summer. The service is nice. The food we had were generally very good, I particularly liked the cured meat, pickled vegetables and cheese items. Again, the advantage of being an upstream supplier shines here. Theres no doubt that the restaurant uses top tier ingredients. However, I am less convinced by the hot dish we ordered. The thing with cooking is, for simpler dishes, an assembly of the best ingredients will speak for itself, but dishes with more complex palete require the chef to achieve a balance of flavors. The taste profile in my opinion is rather thin here, and I attribute this to the fact that the kitchen staff is limited at this moment, the chef has to do most things on her own, and I am hopeful once they iron out the staffing situation things will improve. I give 4/5 re food considering the price point.
