We went here for dinner with friends. This turned out to be an awesome restaurant! The name of it made me think it would be a Jewish restaurant, but it's not. They offer a little of everything, from Italian good to steak. We started with something called "OMG cheese dip" that was very appropriately called. The coconut shrimp had a spicy dipping sauce that was just the right amount of spicy. The salad I ordered was topped with 3 very aptly called jumbo shrimps. The bow tie Pasta was perfect! Everything we tasted was delicious - from entrees to desert and coffee. The servings are large in proportion. The service is friendly. The decor is eclectic and humorous. This is a nice little place. The food here was amazing. Honestly, it was very good. However, we didn't like the alcoholic drinks. We're American so it's normal for us to tell a restaurant you don't like your food/drink and it'll be replaced with something you do like. Especially if you haven't eaten or drink much of it. When we told them we didn't like them, they told us we still had to pay. We were fine with that because we figure that's how they do things in Canada. We said please just give us different drinks. Instead of doing so, the woman changed her mind I guess and said she'll just fix the drinks we already had. To be nice we agreed to let her fix them and she came back with the drinks again. They still weren't good but we politely said we liked them and just didn't drink them. We paid for our bill for the food and drinks even though we didn't drink them. read more

We are there on our anniversary in August and everything was delicious! Before eating there I didn't think I liked lobster but now I love it! Their service was amazing, and the decor was awesome! The staff was super friendly, the vibes were cool, drink inexpensive, and the filet minion was perfect. It came with delicious glazed veggies (the carrots were to die for), and a strangely sliced potato with a strong onion sauce that I wish I had more of! I'm from out of town, but if I come back, this will be high on the list to return to. read more

Visited the Noshery for supper on a weekend. The Noshery is a a small bistro style restaurant serving locally sourced food. The staff were cheerful and attentive and provided helpful suggestions concerning their menu and craft beer selections. We had the Cajun dusted calamari to start which was lightly sautéed with a little Cajun heat, quite enjoyable. For our mains, I had the lamb shank special with redskin new potatoes and local vegetables. My guest had the haddock special with the potatoes and vegetables as well. Although the lamb shank preparation was not as expected with a zesty tomato flavor, it was well prepared and hearty. My guest also enjoyed her meal and commented on how the cream sauce for the fish was very good. Many restaurants treat the vegetables as an afterthought with little consideration but this wasn't the case here. The vegetables consisted of snow peas, carrots, beets, and corn on the cob; all nicely prepared. I would recommend! read more

This was a great find! Stopped for a night in Brockville on our way to Niagara Falls. Snuck in here just before closing and was grateful that they sat us. Cute place with locally sourced food and drink. We had a few of the white wines- Pinot, Riesling, and an unoaked Chard. All were tasty and big pours! The menu was small though well-rounded. We had the duck and the lamb chops- both were savoury and the chops were cooked a perfect medium rare. We indulged in dessert and split the sticky toffee pudding while playing trivial pursuit at the table. A must-go when in town! read more

I only went in this place once and I will never go back Me and my wife went in for lunch on a hot summer day and got a couple sandwiches, a water, and an iced tea. I didn't like the attitude of the owner/server and he really needs to decide what he wants this place to be. I was wearing a hat because we were walking out in the sun, and he made me take it off before he would take our order, which wouldn't bother me in a high end place, but when you are greeted by a plastic stormtrooper at the door and the walls are filled with plastic Batman logo's and Star Wars characters I shouldn't have to take off my hat, and I shouldn't expect to pay $90 for two lunch sandwiches and an iced tea. read more

Ducked in on the way home from Ottawa. Tired and looking for some place to sit and recuperate from a long day and a good hours of driving ahead of us still. We talked to another business down the street, they said you probably won't get in on a Thursday without reservations. we took a change and walked into an empty room. Sat down and had probably the best Caesar salad I have ever had outside of Las Vegas. Cute little place, very sparse, which I like. It lets you focus on the food and drink. The owner was amazing and very friendly. I love to talk with owners and staff on their experiences. I am definitely going to be back to dig deeper into the menu. We ordered two things: grilled cheese with bacon and jalapeños, which was one of the most delicious and beautiful sandwiches I've ever had. The salad that accompanied it was so-so, but I'm glad they offered it. The other was the special Mac and cheese - which was mushy and oily. The cheese hadnt melted but rather separated, and it was lacking flavor. The salad was not good. The price was really high! read more

While traveling in Brockville, this was a favorite meal! We chose this place because of the variety of its menu! Our party ordered bacon wrapped jalapeños and deep fried pickles to start. They devoured both with satisfaction. For dinner I ordered the tuna steak special and my partner ordered the T Bone special, while our friend got the 3 cheese pasta, with added shrimp. We both really enjoyed our meal, though my friend said her pasta was good, but not mind-blowing, "something I could make at home." The portobello cap that came with the steak was out of this world. My friends also ordered dessert, which was great. A great first experience for an up and comer! I recommend you give it a shot! read more

I had been looking forward to trying the Noshery and I am disappointed I had a terrible experience. The waitress who seated us, brought us drinks and took our lunch order was very friendly. However, after being seated for 20 minutes, a male waiter rudely interrupted the conversation at our table to ask my boyfriend remove his baseball hat. There was a female patron seated behind us who was wearing a baseball hat, and was not asked to remove it. I pointed this discrepancy out to the waiter, and he replied "A gentleman always removes his hat." It's 2017. If a woman can wear a hat in a restaurant, so can a man. If you're going to have a 'no hat rule' it should be applied to men and women equally. If we were going to a fine dining establishment, he would not wear a hat. However, the Noshery is very casual, with novelty signs posted "Beer, helping ugly people have sex since 1862" and "Wine How Classy People Get Wasted." There was also terrible FM radio playing, Batman light, a toy Darth Vader lamp on the bar, and a framed poster of Seinfeld's Kramer which suggests dorm room more than fine dining. The waiter pointed out the restaurant's arbitrary rule was written in small text on the cluttered chalk board menu. Perhaps they should consider hanging a sign in the window that is more prominent. We did not stay to eat at the Noshery. read more

I've heard many great things about this restaurant and wanted to give it a try. I'm all for supporting a small family business and this place is one of the best on King St. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Meh. I really really wanted to like this place. It's expensive and not really that great. Food is bland, but the main reason I shy away from coming back is the attitude. All three times I've been, the owner/waiter/barkeep has been rude and patronizing. I'll eat at home thanks. read more
