Always have a great experience here. They are punctual and always send texts the day before my appointment. Also a small plus is they offer me beer when i sit down. Tyler does a great job with my hair and has also given me great advice on how to take care of my unruly hair. Awesome establishment. Never been to a legit barber before and was concerned about switching hairstylists after years. After finally getting frustrated over not being able to set appointments at my usual walk-in, I decided to risk it and try something new. Now I'm just sad that I wasted so many years on mediocre haircuts just to save a few bucks. Devi was friendly, made it comfortable from the second I walked in the door, and even recommended some really good places for high-end whiskey up in Seattle. This is a great place to get your beard trimmed! I showed up for my appointment about five minutes early, and Devi was finishing up with her previous client. Right on time, she was ready for me. I got a beard facial, and man, it was great! Devi did a great job lining up my beard and cleaning up my neck. I looked up barbers near my new office and found The Refined Man and decided to give them a try after reading the great reviews. I showed up and Devi was there to greet me and brought me right back. She introduced me to her puppy Billy, who is the cutest, chillest pup in the world. I explained to her what I wanted and she proceeded to do an awesome job, quick, efficient and looks great. Got my hair cut and for the first time a straight razor shave, this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. The hair cut was no where near what I asked for and the shave was painful and left my face cut and the skin irritated, the lady cutting my hair acted as if I was inconvenience her by being there. The Refined Man is an oasis in a desert of barbershops. I've been looking for a 'good' barbershop for a long time. I didn't find a good barbershop, I found an amazing one. You know when you go to a barbershop and it feels like you're in a hospital? Not this one. This is a REAL barbershop. I had been growing my hair out for little over a year, and I had walked in after making an appointment for the first time for a "trim". Let me say that again. A TRIM. I had grown my hair out longer on top, and shorter on the sides, kind of a Leonardo DiCaprio titanic look, and I walked in asking for a trim to cut off the dead ends, clean up the sides, that sort of thing. I didn't expect 4 inches off the top of my head to be cut clean off. My hair style is completely ruined, and for the past 2 weeks I haven't been able to style it how I want. To see a years worth of growing, and perfecting my hairstyle, and to see it get completely destroyed in a matter of minutes, definitely rubs me the wrong way. Sweet people, terrible service. Moved to this area not too long ago and have been looking for a good classic barber. Found this little shop and was eager to check it out. After trying to set up an appointment twice on the phone, I was informed to book online. Once I was able to get an appointment, I found the house with little problems. I was a bit early just to make sure I could find it since it was my first time with this shop. I walked in the front door about 10 min early and stood in the lobby for a good 2-3 minutes for anyone even acknowledged me. Shawna was standing in the main area talking with another female employee and wouldn't acknowledge me until I stepped forward towards the two and said: "excuse me". I was briefly and hastily told to go and wait in the other room for her. Besides the fact she didn't start on me until almost 15 min after the appointment time started. The haircut was atrocious: she was about 1/4 inch off of my natural part line and cowlick so I had long hair that naturally would fall to the side instead of being short as it should've been being on the side. I had long hair on the short side of my part. I asked for the top to be shorter which she either forgot or just didn't do. The kicker was when a young boy and his mother came in and sat down to wait for the boy to get in the chair after me. The new customer was clearly a regular customer (or old friend)of Shawna's. She dropped the conversation she was carrying with me to start a new conversation with her next client. The remainder of my appointment Shawna was carrying on a conversation with her next client, very rude and unprofessional. My appointment was less than the allotted time slot, I did not get a good haircut and the service was rude and disrespectful at best. I do not fell that I got anything close to what I paid for, especially at $35 for a crappy haircut and customer service as if I were a ghost. I have already told friends to avoid this place and will continue to do so. read more

I sent my boyfriend to Shawna for a beard trim / shaping and haircut. He loves his new cut! The other day he said, "This is the first haircut I've had that I can shampoo and leave the house without doing anything to it." Very nice because he does have an Animae look to his hair about a week after any of his other haircuts. He loved the straight razor shave and his "chops" looked so crisp afterward. The shop is clean, upscale and we both like that you can make an appointment instead of sitting on a couch with other dudes waiting for their turn in the barber chair. Let me start off by saying this may have been the best experience I have had getting a haircut and beard trim. Shawna did an amazing job. I would have to say she was very gentle with the strait razor and she knew what she was doing ( this was in all honesty the first time I left satisfied after having a woman use a strait razor on my face). My beard came out perfect without have her redo any part of my beard. The line up was perfect the length was spot on and the nice little facial massage was a great experience (at least that is what it felt like to me) I'm thinking this might have to be my permanent spot when I need to get pampered. Price is a little high but hey I felt pampered and well taken care of so it's worth it. :) They also had a great selection of products that I could not find living in Southern California. great job Shawna you will definitely be seeing me again in the future. read more
