If you are a major fashionista and love fashion, this is the place to be! Every time I walk into the boutique, it feels as if I'm walking into a museum because this place is the only place I know where I can stand close to vintage Chanel gowns, the latest McQueen pieces, Versace, Dior, and Actually feel it's fabric and adore their beauty. The owner is incredibly friendly and is always willing to walk you through the boutique. Yes, the boutique is quite big, and you do have to invest sometime in looking at the clothing, but is well worth it. The pieces are fairly priced, and they also offer lay away. I've just rediscovered the Refinery after many years--in the early eighties it was just about the only resale/consignment shop in Las Vegas, and I shopped there whenever I needed a jolt of the exceptional. It's even better now--at least the selection is--but Carolyn and her team are still friendly and helpful--listening to what I wanted and coming up with waaaayyyy more choices than my budget could cover. There's nothing celebrity about this place! The owner Caroline is nothing but an old bitter money hungry....!if it wasn't for my friend from Sunset Stations, she wouldnt have anything in her store, she is very sarcastic and condescending! Drop of a lot of merchandise for consignment! And never gave me the money that I was owed! Which was at least over $4000 dollar!Have a lawyer that God he's family ! Please stay away from this place!!! I'm sure she'll make a snide comment like she always does on every review, but it's never her fault ! This is absolutely, hands down, without a doubt my most favorite store in the Las Vegas area! The owner, Carolyn, is as fabulous as she is kind, which is to say.... A LOT! She only hires the best and her employees greet me by name, despite the fact I've only been there a handful of times. She definitely knows her stuff when it comes to authentication, which is a breath of fresh air in an industry with lots of replicas (not that there is anything wrong with replicas - I own a few myself), but she is HONEST and will not pass off a replica as an authentic piece. I purchased a replica LV phone case and its such a good rep it matches my authentic Speedy (also purchased from The Refinery) flawlessly. No one suspects it's a rep unless I tell them. Her store and employees have great energy, and they are not only all drop dead gorgeous, they are genuinely down to earth, kind, caring people. Carolyn even went above and beyond over a misunderstanding I had over their layaway policy, which was totally on me, but she was nothing but kind and understanding about my (embarrassing!) misunderstanding. Her prices are also very fair, and she seems to accept only pieces in the finest condition. Do yourself a favor and stop by, even if it's just to look around. But I guarantee you wont leave empty handed, as there is something at this store for everyone, from your mom to your boss to your best friend! One visit was enough for me to realize how stupid this place was. The merchandise was just plain bad. If you like neon Escada suits from 1991, this might be the place for you. If not, spend your time and money elsewhere. I thought the service was terrible too. The place is small, and no one greeted me or the other two women that walked in (and subsequently walked out) after me. I haven't been back since the first visit and that was over two years ago, so maybe things have changed. The other review leads me to believe they haven't. I called about consigning a few high end items here and was spoken to so rudely on the phone it was shocking. I felt like I was a majorly inconveniencing her with my quick call. I have no idea how on earth she stays in business. I take my items to the other two consignment stores in town (Ritzy Rags and A Second Chance) now. I am treated with respect, and appreciated as a customer and as a consigner. As a result, I spend a lot of money in both boutiques. Don't waste your time on this place. Yelp does not allow zero stars so I am forced to give one to post this review. I took a $600 gown here with the original invoice and was told, verbatim, "I just sold a Teri Jon dress but it wasn't like this! For this kind of gown I can get about half or $295." I was told I would receive half of that. A few weeks later I returned with a Ralph Lauren gown. The owner took it from me and began to write a contract. I asked how much I would receive and she said $45. I told her I was not interested in selling and left. Today I called and was told my $600 gown sold for $90, not the $295 I was told and that I would receive $45. I was told this time by the same salesperson who I dealt with originally that she had to do research on the market price! Neither she nor the owner ever mentioned research and just set a sales price. Consider this - if the Refinery has your merchandise and the right to sell it for as little as they please, why wouldn't they sell everything at rock bottom prices just to make a little something and screw the customer who brought in the merchandise? I wanted to sell some of my designer bags here, but I wanted to walk in first and get a feel and look at this place, I walked in this store, said hello in a fairly loud and clear voice, a sales woman looked straight at me and did not even respond. Oh, well, maybe she was having a bad day, but as I was looking around the store, another sales woman, was pointing at me to get out of the way so she can move some clothing to another area of the store, I thought these two were pretty rude. Anyway, the clothes are not good quality at all, they looked kind of dusty, and badly kept, and old. I have been to vintage stores, but these were kind of unfashionable, and dusty as if they had been there for months. They have some designer clothes, but nothin to scream about. Overall did not feel good or comfortable being in that store, the staff needs customer service training. read more

So two years ago, I walked into the old location with a pair of Dior sunglasses that looked awful on me. I signed the slip, and left. Then, like a rocket scientist, changed my cell phone number. So fast forward to today, the lightbulb turns on and I remember, and also realize my receipt is long gone! I call and speak to Caroline (sorry if I spelled the name wrong!!) and she was so nice and professional! To make my situation even more fun, the last name the item was under was my maiden name. She asked for a few minutes to look it up, and asked to call me back. She did exactly what she said, with the good news that the item had sold and they were holding some money for me! My husband and I went by, and there was literally no waiting, I got to see her, told her who I was, she opened up the register and gave me the agreed upon amount and we were out the door! If I had more items that would fit the criteria, I would without a doubt feel great about dealing with the Refinery again! The store is clean, and has a TON of very cool items that are very clean. If we weren't moving, I would have loved to stay around and browse, but unfortunately..... Oh well, maybe when we come back to visit! My wife asked my to drop a black fur vest off last fall. The woman said that she would call once it was priced. She never called and we assumed that it never sold. In the past, they would call and get you to agree to a price prior to selling it and then send a check at the end of the month. I went in to pick it up and they can't find it. She refuses to call me back, and last time I called, she had her asistant say that they sold it for $125. At best, the place is disorganized. At worst, they are just keeping the money and hoping that you never follow up regarding the goods placed on consignment. We are done with this place. Even our claim ticket is a joke. It has a well known resident in town on the ticket and then it is crossed out and our name is written in. read more

Whenever traveling, we always plan a few side trips to local higher-end clothing resale shops. For us guys, we sit around 99.99% of the time reading something while our better halves browse. Much to my surprise, The Refinery is has nicer, refined men's clothing for resale too! When I started looking at the men's items, there were shirts by Tom Ford, Bugatchi, Robert Graham and others. The owner and her staff were engaging and helpful. She knew what was where in the store and in some cases the exact pieces being described! There are also uber nice men's suits, slacks and jeans, are all fairly priced. She also has shoes, luggage and many other items. We spent a few hours in the store. This is the BEST resale store ever! I have been to Resale stores all over Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and this is my favorite. They have it all...something for everyone. On a recent trip to Las Vegas (we are from Vancouver, BC), my best friend and I visited The Refinery and found it to be one of the BEST high end consignment stores we've shopped in. I was blown away with the huge selection (beautiful designer pieces) and affordable prices. A lot of the clothes still had tags on them and were in incredible condition and are very recent and if not in season. I spent a huge chunk of my budget in this store. Whenever I am in Las Vegas this is the first store I will visit. The owner Carolyn and her staff are super helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and incredibly sweet. My friend and I were in Vegas for some fun and searched on line for a fun, more affordable shopping experience than we could get on the Strip. While it was a $20 cab ride, it was really worth it. The staff, including Raz the manager, were SO helpful. We did have to search around a bit, but there were no absence of labels and great things to buy. My friend got a brand new Pucci dress, a brand new AMAZING Fendi belt, a Chanel scarf, 2 pairs of Zanotti heels, and an Hermes bracelet for $1000. Other considerations included a new Chanel dress and Herve Leger dress. There was mostly men's clothes for L and XL but there were a few accessories (this is really mostly a women's store). I've visited every single designer consignment store, vintage boutique, thrift store, and department store close out stores in Las Vegas and this by far beats every other store in Vegas - hands down. The prices vary - most can be high sometimes, equivalent to a Neiman Marcus Last Call, but the quality is there. And you can always find very inexpensive things (I got a plain black James Perse shirt for $10 once) on their folded clothes stands. I pay on average $70-90 for pants there. It is not full of items that are awkward fitting that no one wanted like so many other stores. It is all beautifully unique, on trend, and modern pieces. The buyer (I am assuming the owner) has a good eye for quality and taste. Its so much more than just a bunch of designer names. It is also full of unique high quality pieces that you would get in Europe. It is seriously like digging for treasure in this store because there is so much in a small space, there is always something amazing hidden that you don't see on first glance. The mother who owns the shop, at least I think she does, (and her 2 daughters who are usually there) are the sweetest women! They always help me shop and provide good customer service. I have to admit, the other older woman has always been cold and rude to me and my mother when we shop there. Overall though, if you shop when the owner is there, you will have a great shopping experience. Every time I wear clothes I bought from here I get compliments on them. I walked in the Refinery years ago. I was so impressed I wanted everyone to shop here I became the "Town Crier". The Owner was in the store back office. Her employee is the most gracious, genuine person as she efficiently assisted me with my purchases. I informed the employee the clasp on the "Beautiful" designer Etcetera slacks was damaged. The owner walked out from her office. She took the slacks and walked out of the front door. The employee said she 's going to her seamstress to fix the clasp". That took me by surprise. Her personal strength and commitment to her store was obvious. It didn't contain a bit of "scripting or tension. Her grace under pressure did not interfere with her willingness to satisfy her patrons. Thank You Caroline for rising above the occasion and for providing great Customer Service for everyone that enters your store. You are kind, positive and professional. This is an excellent place to shop for high-end, designer labels a fraction of the original prices. I was looking for a cocktail dress to wear to an event and ended up purchasing three - Dior, Cavalli and Givenchy. I paid about a third of what ONE of them would cost at Neiman Marcus. There were lots of very lovely handbags. It does bear noting, that this is a consignment store, not a luxury department store, so be prepared to look hard for the really great stuff. I like this store very much considering the designer labels for cheap. HOWEVER.....I'm very disappointed at the customer service I experienced the other day. I gave two items for consignment and one of my items sold. I called and informed the employer's in the store of my selling item. The lady at the counter was helpful but she informed another coworker and that COWORKER yelled from the back, "I don't have time to go through any paperwork the two of you can look through the envelope to find the sale". Not only was I floored but the other employee there too. If my item sold what is the big deal about looking up my name in the computer and giving me my $$$ for MY item that sold. Rude! Rude! Rude! I stopped by today even though I was shabbily dressed and my hair was a mess (moving). The owner will take one look at you, size you up and decide whether or not you are worthy to shop in her store. Which is sad really because I would think the focus would be the customer's budget??? Yes, the store does have a 'thrift store' smell and is not clean. I wanted to shop for my daughter but when I tried to look at the size Small dresses, the owner told me that none of the clothes on the rack would fit me! This was after the person who greeted asked me what I was looking for and showed me the sale racks. I guess I look like I shop clearance racks? My daughter is moving here also and has a LARGE budget. I had the opportunity to visit the Refinery yesterday for the first time; it is in a shopping center near the corner of Sunset and Pecos)....they carry pre-owned clothing (although either not worn at all or very little). Top, top designers are represented, of course sizes vary, depending on what comes in to their inventory. The quality of the clothes (i.e., Armani, Escada) made for a great shopping experience. First, and foremost, you will have to stow your kippah in your prada when shopping at The Refinery. Having said that, I was blown away. There were at least 15 Judith Leiber clutch which were mostly in new condition and a tray of Tiffany jewelry, although all sterling silver. Beautiful summer dresses, gowns and one-of-kind pieces that were absolutely gorgeous. The summer wear were beautiful patterns and great color selection. There's even a collection of D&G, Jimmy Choo leather boots and heels and I checked out the heels and literally no scuffing, if your shoe size is 8.5 to 9, this place has a little piece of heaven for you. A cabinet full of large python bags of all colors and in great condition. I could go on and on about the handbags--large pebbled Tod's to smaller more colorful leather pieces from Ferragamo, Gucci, Valentino, Prada, D&G, Versace, etc. If your looking for a Louis Vuitton trunk, they have one hoisted on top of a cabinet and it was in great shape. This is the place to go, if you're looking for high end unique pieces that are just exquisite, however, it will definitely put you in the red--and I mean, devil wears red.
