Holten came out and I explained what was going on with the basement bathroom. We walked around talking about different way to figure out what was causing the smell and he "I'm going to just walk around and check things out" within 1 minute he yelled out "found it". Under the sink in the bathroom and vent check valve was missing. The contractor plumber never installed it when the house was built 2 years ago. He said he could fix it right now and gave a very reasonable price. I said go ahead and within 30 minutes he had fixed a problem I had been dealing with for the last two years. He was very knowledgeable and even found a pipe that was not glued when he was installing the valve and fixed that as well I would highly recommend this business for their expertise and value for what they do. I added them in my phone as the first business to call for my plumbing needs.

He took the time to clearly explain what was happening and patiently answered all of our questions, which we really appreciated. If we ever have plumbing issues in the future, we will definitely be calling 1-Tom-Plumber again and asking specifically for Kaleb. Highly recommend!

Just because a corporation has…read morean A+ rating with BBB, doesn't mean that you should do business with them without first reading the complaints on the BBB web site. (https://www.bbb.org/us/oh/cincinnati/profile/plumber/roto-rooter-0292-1922/complaints) BBB tells me there are things that organizations can do to up their BBB ratings... I wish I had known that and read some of the 540 complaints on the BBB web site. Roto-Rooter is charging me $3100.00 for incomplete work. After two no-shows with no notice, they started work on 3/19/21. They jackhammered a deep hole in my basement, removed the sewer trap, and fashioned a temporary connection between two cut pieces of sewer pipe. Original estimate was a 2-day job for $4839.00. After another no show with no notice, I gave up on them on 3/24 and asked for a bill for work completed. Then they added $1140.00 onto the bill from a quote dated 12 days after the first quote, saying it was part of the original job, for additional work that was never even attempted. And for that, they want $3100.00? THIS IS SHAMEFUL. 4/7/21 Update: A Customer Satisfaction Manager from RR HQ read my online complaint under Google Reviews. After filing a formal complaint with the Murrysville General Manager, and a reminder follow up, this Customer Satisfaction Manager was able to get Murrysville RR to assign a manager to review my complaint. This manager was able to cut my bill in half by dropping their profit on the job and billing me for only the labor cost of the work that had actually been done. He sincerely apologized, stating that this should never have dragged on so long, and that this is not the way they do business. He also promised to follow up with the job supervisor regarding multiple customer service failures that resulted in significant delays. This was an expensive lesson for me--one that I will never forget. I am awaiting the corrected bill so that I can pay it and move on.

We couldn't be happier with not just the electricity we are saving in cooling season and the First Energy rebates and federal tax credits we will be getting that defrays part of the initial cost, but also the professionalism, friendliness and responsiveness of the estimator, office staff and installers. They were able to schedule our installation quickly and when it suited us, and it all went very smoothly. We are now able to see exactly what we are spending per day via the smart thermostat (one recent hot day was 58 cents). Many cool features and we are looking forward to seeing how it performs this winter as the heat pump operates even when it is only 5 degrees outside without using the back-up heat. Highly recommend!!

I might've better been able to make arrangements if I had been notified beforehand of the conditions of the job, maybe I could have helped them plan it better? Since they didn't call me, I had to call them on Friday afternoon to find out they weren't returning until Monday, unless I was willing to make an additional payment for a Saturday service call. Having already been scammed for a grand, I crawled under some blankets and set up some space heaters to tough out a few chilly October evenings. The actual service technician was a decent, professional fellow, bit their management team leaves room for much improvement. Oh, and when you tell me you'll have a guy out at 8 Monday morning, don't have me calling at 830 to find out you sent him to the warehouse for parts for another job first, not cool.
