I recently was looking for a resume writing service and from a google search came across the resume clinic. There are many sketchy resume writing services out there, so I checked with the BBB (Better Business Bureau), and was pleasantly surprised to find the resume clinic had a whopping A+ rating. I was in! And then began the free fall dissent to "I'm surprised that you have ANY credibility at all!" I sent in my resume for the free critique, useful service, and then I started waiting. At this point let me just say, I was all ready to be receiving A+ customer service, and I was to be surprisingly disappointed with what I got. I thought at least they would send you one of those automated responses that my resume was received and given an expected wait time for a response, since so many reputable online companies send these emails, but nope. I admit, I was in a hurry to receive a response and yet fully aware that these things take time. So, in the morning I called the customer service line to ask if my resume was received and what the expected wait time would be, the customer rep. said she saw my email, but didn't know when someone would be able to respond to me. Then the whole day went by and a little after 5PM, I called customer service again to see if they had an expected wait time, again no clue. I made clear to the rep. that all I wanted to know was how long I would have to wait for a response, reasonable request don't you think? Then the head of the company called me. As soon as I picked up instead of apologizing, he started explaining that he was traveling all day and had sent me an email. Giving excuses instead of just answering my question, it's not the customers concerns if you are busy, traveling, or anything else. That is up to the company to make sure they are organized and professional enough to respond in some form or fashion despite many distractions. I didn't want to keep him from his flight so I quickly agreed to check my inbox and spam box again, no email. I then let him know that I hadn't received his email explaining the circumstances of his late reply and if he could please resend the email. Also, at this point I politely let him know that I had been expecting A+ customer service to which he immediately got very defensive and again instead of apologizing and empathizing with the customer, as basically expected, he started attacking me as a "difficult" customer who heaped abuse at him...o.O What?! When he did send the 2 emails to me, they were addressed to 2 different ladies, and not me :/ So needless to say, from the start not even BASIC customer service, let alone A+ service was given. If Resume Clinic can't even reply with courteous & professional customer service to customer inquiries how can they even think I will entrust my career future to them? The website is outdated and so are the testimonials, the most recent ones being from 2008. read more
