The spa was absolutely wonderful! We were here for the week for our anniversary and were only able to book massages. Apparently, you need to book weeks in advance because they are either shortstaffed for women masseuses or they are just that busy. I got a prenatal massage and my husband got the CBD massage. We both truly enjoyed the experience. Becky was the best masseuse ever! I wish she was at the Ritz Carlton here in Orlando and I would go to her bi monthly. We then enjoyed the adult only pool and Kale was awesome poolside. I wish they had a different menu other than the one from the Mexican restaurant, Coquina, because that food is not the best. We ordered the quesadillas and it literally was cheese and shrimp. Apparently, you have to ask for peppers and onions which we did not know. It would've been nice to know that upfront. Also, the churros are not available until it is dinner time but they were able to make an exception and the chef made me some. They should probably note that on their menu. The nachos are great but the cheese is drenched at the bottom so you will need to make sure that you ask for more chips on the side. This is the second time that we got nachos and they were both the same each day. Otherwise, the spa is very nice and they have a nice lounge waiting area where your masseuse will pick you up for your treatment. They have trail mix and chocolate covered raisins for you to enjoy with bottled water.

Love it here. Never have any issues or complaints whenever I visit. The facilities are always clean and well kept. Excellent spa and hotel. The indoor pool and hot tub are nice and very relaxing. The only minor gripe I have is with the mens hot tub. It has this waterfall that is pretty loud and can't be shut off. It makes it kinda hard to relax or drift off while in it. Most of the time I just drown it out or just get accustomed to it and not let it bother me. Overall this is definitely a great place to kick back, relax and be treated like a king or queen.

The Staff at the front desk is beyond rude and unaccommodating ... actually made relaxing at the spa difficult.

We arrived at the Ritz too late for dinner anywhere but the lobby bar. Enjoyed several sushi rolls with drinks, each one imaginative fresh and tasty. But some event had recently let out and the lobby bar got crowded and LOUD. I mean over 100db loud (measured). That's the equivalent of enjoying sushi while jackhammers are crushing concrete all around you. Whoa! Ocean front one bedroom suite - Plush, large, comfortable. Curtains blocked most light, but the bright morning sun still peeked in around the edges. Comfortable bed and plenty cold for good sleeping. Two huge TVs. While the only premium feed provided is Netflix, the cable box had been lowered behind the TV in the living room such that it was simple to plug in your own device. If this is by design, kudos to the Ritz. If this was accidental, we feel very fortunate. Awesome to have a second half bath, wish that was an option at more hotels. The main bath, very roomy, with a huge dressing area, was a little odd in that, while there was a door to the toilet, there was no door to the tub/shower. Not a big deal, as it was around a corner providing a little privacy, it's still a weak design decision. Huge balcony with ocean front views that go on forever. A few chairs and a table, but a bit under furnished. Still quite a treat for the view, breeze and privacy. Never even slightly tempted to leave the property during our stay. Over a 4 night stay, we visited nearly every bar and restaurant option, and never felt like we were having to "make do". Pool - the kiddie pool was closed for renovations, so children took over the main pool all day. If you're not a tolerant direct parent, you're not gonna get in that water, if you know what I mean. Overall the pool and chairs were pretty crowded, so almost worth the premium to have rented a cabana for 8-2 one day. Lots more room and comfort, both lounge chairs and couch seating, TV, snacks and drinks.

Even with curtains pulled back. The light fixtures in bathroom and bedroom were very dull. The shower was terrible, no water pressure no hot water. Like warm showers for four days. The hotel charges a resort fee but there is really no resort to take advantage of. One pool with a lot of kids. Drinks around the pool started at 20.00. I didn't see any going the extra mile. No little extras for the guests. I would not come back to this hotel again

I've always wanted to go there so I wasn't going to let this opportunity get away. So I investigated the VRBO. Rentals instead of a hotel. Guess what? I love this program. For a few bucks more you can get a condo with all the comforts of home. It was a last minute booking and they upgraded us to a two bedroom penthouse unit. A couple of advantages. If you get hungry at night, just go to the kitchen and microwave a snack. Coffee anytime you want it, and if the weather turns bad, you're not trapped in a single room. Just a note, weather was fabulous. We had two balconies to watch the sun rise, or to just have a cup of coffee in the morning. Our building was waterfront so it was a very short walk to the beach. They have a pool also for those who prefer a pool instead. We used both the beach and the pool. The complex is gated so it's pretty secure. They provide beach chairs and umbrellas at no additional cost. There's a supermarket just up the road so we stocked up on food and snacks for the weekend before checking in. Overall it was FABULOUS and we already have plans to go back in the winter. Just for the record I'm really starting to hate snow.. Sorry. I suggest Amelia Island Surf & Racket for your next Florida vacation, you will not regret. Just do me a favor , don't go in February, that's when I'm going and I don't want to lessen my odds of getting that penthouse unit again.

The room and bathroom were very spacious and the ceiling was high. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. A continental breakfast was provided every morning. Upstairs, there was an ice machine and Keurig coffee maker which I appreciated as I brought my own K-cups from home. Also, our room had a mini-fridge and freezer combo. This was a plus due to being a gluten-free person and having to bring my own breakfast food and coffee creamer. On Saturday night, a lady named, Shell, performed in The Principal's Office Bar. She was really good and even took requests. My husband and I would definitely stay here again. I do have a few suggestions. Everyday, 4 towels were placed in the bathroom, but only 2 washcloths. I asked twice for 2 more to be put in my room, but that didn't happen. One evening, a sweet bartender grabbed extra washcloths for us. Also, a hand-held sprayer would be nice to have in the shower as the soft water made it hard to remove soap from my body and shampoo and conditioner from my hair. Additionally, the steps on the side of the building near the ramp have metal strips placed on them, and they become very slippery when it rains. When we left one afternoon, it was raining. My husband slipped and fell down the steps. So, maybe a non-slip material could be added to the steps. Lastly, the pool was full of leaves the five days we stayed at the Inn. I never saw anyone do any maintenance to the pool. There were towels out on Saturday for pool use, but none of the other days. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend the Inn to others.

My sister and I were dressed in average bikinis for women in our early 20s (nothing too cheeky or revealing but skin was showing). Staff were very quick to politely tell us we were not up to dress code. The staff was polite about it, but the rule itself is old fashioned and not at all with the times. As a young woman its NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to find a quality modest bikini that doesnt show a little butt. Out of touch rules that disproportionately affect women. At the resort there are acres of villas, a 3.5 mile strip of private beach and they are completing a second hotel by the end of 2012. The resort does offer a shuttle service so it is easy to get around the resort without jumping into your car. The resort provides many amenities including a spa, gym, hotel pool, restaurants, tennis courts, golf, a few shops. I used the spa during our visit and was disappointed at the lack of amenities at the spa. I was expecting to spend several hours at the spa, but there was no jacuzzi hot tub, steam room or dry sauna so once my spa service was finished I just showered and left. The spa should reduce their prices if they are not going to provide any of these typical spa amenities. I also worked out at the resort's fitness center during my stay. The gym was small, but had a decent selection of weight machines and the cardio equipment included built in tv sets. The locker room amenities were pretty much nonexistent so I ended up not showering in the locker room and took the shuttle back to my room so I could shower there instead. Overall, we had a nice and relaxing vacation and enjoyed being lazy and getting room service, but the area was just a little too quiet for my taste. I would only consider returning to the Amelia Island Plantation if they update and remodel the facilities on-site.
