This is probably one of the best Ritz branches in the US. It is a resort nested far away in the mountains. 80 degrees water at three swimming pool all year. 5 stars for quiet clean and spacious rooms and for the staff here. Nespresso coffee machines here are great. I visit this Ritz almost every year in the fall. From an ex-Mainer, fall in Colorado mountains is marvelous. Waking up here smelling the fire places ejecting nice fragrance from burning Colorado wood and the smell of pine trees is something priceless. Coming back.

First of all, let me say that this is one of the most beautiful resorts I have been to in Colorado. I was very impressed at the gorgeous fireplace crystal chandelier upon entrance. Valet is free if you are going to dine there. If you are going to park for skiing. It is $500 per day. You should definitely know that before you go. They have several restaurants, a coffee shop, a members lodge, and an owners members lodge. The pool is fantastic, and the skin looks even better. The outdoor menus are a little limited. Also, while we were outside dining, we couldn't enjoy it because they were smoking meat. When I say smoking, I mean literally billowing into the courtyard. A lot of guests got up and left. It was very unpleasant. Also, the DJ was great but the music was so loud I felt like I was in a circus. Not what I would expect at the Ritz, to be honest. I would definitely go back, mainly because the location is one of the best in Colorado. The four stars is because of the smoke and limited menu options.

Where do I begin! I NEVER LEAVE BAD REVIEWS! Check my profile!! But this needs to be known. So, let me tell you- I'll begin about 90 days prior (maybe more) when some girlfriends and I reached out to this property because it was the main and one and only thing that the bride to be wanted to do in Vail for her Bachelorette party. She wanted to go to this beautiful property and enjoy a day in the mountain with music food and cocktails. After numerous emails with what we thought was a decent manager, since he did reply to the emails with the information we needed after having to remind him a few times. He finally got around to sending us the menus for alcohol and food the night before our reservation. The day of the reservation we show up promptly at 2 PM and due to mediocre snowfall the couches that we reserved for $800 were closed. None of the employees had any information on our reservation and we were told that the outside patio was closing. Nobody called us. Nobody emailed us. Nobody gave us any courtesy to let us know. We were there for a Bachelorette Party awaiting this day for many months.. the general manager ARUN LINGAN, Food & Beverage Operation Manager The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, was absolutely nowhere to be found nor would he come out of his office when we asked for him. I even emailed him and no response. His other staff had no clue what our reservation entailed or who we were. Luckily the bar manager, Nathan, was nice enough to attend to us and make room for us at his bar. We did not want to make the bride feel bad or let her believe once that this wasn't under control, so we quickly conformed from our PRIVATE section that we reserved that could have easily had umbrellas and been kept dry before we got there to the bar!!! - Some employees tried to shove 2 umbrellas over us. Our reservation inclusion was not quite relayed to any of the staff so we were told we had different minimums at different times of our day. The food menu only offered 1/4 (or less) of the items on the menu so we were ordering food that we didn't even want just to meet the minimum that we thought we were required. Halfway into our stay, which was only 2 PM to 5 PM. We were ordering liquor that we didn't want and food that we didn't want to meet the minimum that exceeded what it should have actually been. Although we proceeded to enjoy ourselves because what Bachelorette Party wouldn't? Under any circumstances, we were going to have fun for the bride to be , however, the staff, the manager and this property could have done their very best to make sure what we had in our contract was met. We feel overcharged underappreciated and under acknowledged, especially by the beverage manager, who did not even come out to shake our hand, say sorry or acknowledge us one bit. UNPROFESSIONAL AND SO DISAPPOINTING. The DJ was the only one that knew what he was doing. Oh and the chef that made the cake!!! Thanks for the cake he was the only one that knew we were there! Even the bartender gave us the wrong prices for our bottles. No one else at that bar had to pay a minimum to sit there. It was absolutely ridiculous. Our private section did not exist, but our LARGE Fee sure did. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. ARUN DO BETTER! Ritz Carlton is a prestigious property and ALL OF YOUR GUESTS deserve to be treated with RESPECT. Especially those who have a THREE MONTH plus reservation. AND - at least we looked cute - come on who wouldn't want these ladies to have a good time ???

My husband and I stayed here for our ten year anniversary. We absolutely loved our experience. We generally stay at air bnb's when we travel, but I wanted to be catered to this trip. I didn't want to grocery shop or cook. The Ritz was above and beyond! You can tell they take customer service very seriously. Highly recommend Wyld restaurant for breakfast. Their chilequiles were out of this world! We also tried caviar for the first time at the bar. -Important things to know that were a surprise to us: -this hotel is a 20 minute drive to Vail. Vail is much more populated and touristy, but this location is nice and quiet! -They had a wedding the weekend we stayed. They set up the dance floor and tent right behind the pool, and sound check started around 4pm. It was very loud. It didn't bother us, but I can imagine it would bother some people. Ask for a room not facing the pool if music might annoy you. Also, the music they play most of the day by the pool was clearly audible in our hotel room. -the elevation is pretty brutal. We were planning on being much more active than we were able to be. We stayed 4 nights, and that wasn't long enough to acclimate well enough for a decent hike. To be REAL real... my sister works for Marriott, so we were able to stay here with a friends & family rate. Otherwise, this fine establishment would be out of our price range. I felt like a bit of an imposter, with zero desire to talk to the other guests with whom I couldn't possibly relate to, and I was more interested in getting to know the staff, and letting them know they're valued. I wanted to say "no, it's okay, you don't have to do all that! I'm like you!" Ya'll it's just NUTS how differently people with money are treated. Or, how different my husband and I were treated for the 4 days people thought we had lots of money

It's good. It's just very, very expensive! We stayed 1 night on our last night in this trip, ~98k points booked with 85k free night certificate + top-off. We have Titanium status. Much better than the Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek. We got upgraded to a residential suite which was going for $2k/night. Shower pressure was good, and the suite had a full kitchen + 2 fireplaces. So much space! Their restaurant WYLD had better much better food, service, and ambiance for similar prices vs 8100 at the Park Hyatt, not surprised WYLD is Michelin guide. Breakfast was not included unfortunately since it's not a benefit at most RCs, but we had breakfast at WYLD and it was pretty good. Just... expensive all-around. Food/drinks in the Great Room were also nice, and the ambiance is so cozy and warm. There's a semi-exclusive ski lift in the back, since parking at the hotel was $500 if not staying there. Though, it seemed it was still accessible via lift or a shuttle from elsewhere, but the crowd felt much smaller than at Beaver Creek. We purchased a Ritz Carlton duck (it holds 2 skis) at the spa, and they also had a Ritz Carlton dog plushie. Love it! I was nervous about the cancellation policy of 60 days and a no-show charge of $1600 (the cash rate of our booking), even though it's on points. But things worked out. But heads up that this is a thing to be concerned about. A great experience overall but perhaps not optimal in value. But if you have the points or want to splurge a bit, stay here!

I mean expensive, but truly worth it. I booked a massage at their spa and when you do, you have access to their spa all day (Which is a perk when your husband snowboards all day). If you're not staying there, they will comp your parking which was nice, since my husband was able to walk out back and hop on a gondola to snowboard. The views are stunning. They have outdoor seating and food. Food is extremely expensive, but they don't allow you to bring your own food which kinda stinks. The massage is pricey, but honestly worth it. I haven't had a massage like that before, feeling renewed afterwards and being able to relax in the grotto, whirlpool, plunge pool, sauna and steam room. They have refreshments, (nuts, snacks, tea, water) if you want to just relax and you can also shower and blow dry your hair. Wonderful facility and kind workers too. At the end, they have hot chocolate and cookies if you want them!

A beautiful hotel at the top of the mountain! Excellent service and beautiful scenery. You can't go wrong staying here!

My husband and I stayed here for my birthday weekend and it was truly a magical experience. The entire resort, including our room, was incredibly clean and comfortable with gorgeous views. Everyone went out of their way to make the weekend special not only for us, but for our dog, Peanut, as well! They delivered a really nice surprise to our room on my birthday including delicious macarons and champagne. We enjoyed a couples massage and copper tub soak with CBD at the spa, which couldn't have been any better. We also dined at WYLD for breakfast and dinner on separate days and the food and service were top-notch. We are looking forward to coming back during winter!

Ritz-Carlton has done it again with maybe one of my favorite properties in its chain that I've been to. Like many other RC locations, this one is tucked up into the mountains off of the main highway. Lodge vibes at a thousand with the log-style architecture just begging you to get cozy and enjoy a cocktail. Speaking of cocktails, make sure relax at the bar/lounge where you can get a view straight out the bay windows up to the mountain. A ski-in/ski-out resort makes this the perfect getaway for a winter activity weekend. Service was great and I would definitely return.

All of our guests stayed here and everyone raved about the quality of accommodation, the attentiveness of service, superb amenities, exceptional on-premise dining, and the delight of ski-in / ski-out at a world-class mountain. From the crew at the valet station, the concierge desk (who host daily après ski hot chocolate and fresh-baked cookie parties!), the housekeeping team, the ski valets, the spa attendants, and all of the wonderful F&B folks, the service here is impeccable. The hotel amenities include an elegant spa, well-equipped gym, pilates and yoga studios, heated salt water pool, and three infinity hot tubs that are perfect for après ski soaking. Of particular note, the Westin has updated its Ski Valet shop which offers faultless service for those availing themselves of the Beaver Creek Ski resort. The valets bring your skis to the Gondola which is right outside the door! The lobby bar, the Lookout Bar, and the Stoke and Rye served our guests with superbly crafted food and drink. It should be mentioned that Chef Richard Sandoval is leaving so Stoke & Rye is being repurposed into an Italian eatery under the guidance of a new Chef - we look forward to experiencing this new venue. We held an arrival dinner for our guests in a private space - the Osprey Room - and the food, drink, and ambiance were exceptional. The room was cozy yet spacious and created a warm, welcoming environment for our guests who traveled from all three coasts. We want to make particular mention of our hostess, Sonja Eichenberger. Sonja managed every aspect of our affair, ensuring every dimension of a large party was attended to the last detail. Sonja listened to the Bride's comments and discerned solutions that were both creative and thoughtful. We had several dignitaries in our party - two Senators, a US Attorney, and a Fox News commentator - and Sonja saw to it that consideration was made for both their privacy and security. Much of the success of our special event rests with Sonja. The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Avon is an exquisitely fashionable property but it is the staff that makes the experience special. Thank you Sonja for making our week at the Westin a lifelong memory!

By the way, none of the rooms in this place have any air conditioning. It makes sense in Vail, CO because the weather is quite mild in the summer/fall season. This experience: The front desk staff is new and totally inexperienced and incapable of making simple decisions and exercising obvious discretion. The young lady that checked us in royally screwed up my reservation and room selection. I have a lifetime status with Marriott with a well-defined online loyalty profile with Marriott. Yet, instead of even bothering to look at my loyalty profile, she assigned me a room that was quite awful. When I came down, another person (Maria) took on the task of rectifying my sad experience. Luckily, Maria happened to be the Manager on duty. With a very calm head, she rectified the whole horrible mess and ultimately set me up with a very nice room for my wife and I. People such as Maria should be recognized for keeping a cool head, acting professional, and going the extra mile to prioritize customer satisfaction/experience as the ultimate goal in the hospitality business. You may not get Maria when you check-in. But if things go awry (which very well could - given my initial experience) always ask for Maria, the Manager. Will I stay here again? If there are more people there like Maria, yes, I would. Giving three (03) stars due to an hour of frustration and going back-and-forth at the front desk. Hoping next visit would be smoother and better so I can rate this place better.

Not a lot of them offered to assist me with my bags. My valet call got "missed" or forgotten the day we left. NOT so ok: 1) Surprise valet cost:After everything was pre-paid. I asked the front desk and a young woman politely explained that housekeeping was additional cost per day unless you were staying for over 7-Days. This was fine but would have been nicer to know in advance. 3) Poor communication : We requested late checkout at 9am the day of our departure. It was confirmed by the Manager that we were good to check out at 11 instead of 10. At 10:01 our room received a call. At 10:05 we had someone knocking at our door. They all seem to be well informed of the area, and always had a smile on their face.

St. James Place: Charming Beaver Creek…read more Construction and marketing time-shares in ski resorts has always required adroit thinking. The loquacious salesperson comprehends that winter inventory will virtually sell itself; however, several winter months of maintenance fees will not support the bottom line. This simple analysis has led to a market glut of time-shares in destination areas such as Orlando. Another factor is that the U.S. time-share market clientele is simply not attentive to the geography or demographics of The Rocky Mountains. Interval International categorizes every state from Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming as the "Rocky Mountains." These states may indeed share the Rockies, but these states have very ingenuous differences even for the client who is a skier. And specifically, there are market differences in Vail, Avon, and Beavercreek, Colorado. All three of these communities are grouped together on the Interval International website with no discussion of the vibrant differences that location provides. A client from the Midwest or East with an upscale property will unlikely be unhappy to learn that following several hours of flight and rental car drive that the family will be vacationing near I-70 or in a poorly located time-share. Beavercreek, Colorado is near Avon, Colorado, and the difference in ambience is equal to the vertical difference between the two villages. Several years ago, my wife and I viewed the construction of St. James Place in Beaver Creek; then we experienced a sales tour. The developers of St. James Place in Beaver Creek incorporated the aesthetics of a mountain property that blended in perfectly with the architecture of Beaver Creek. Zoning regulations are vital to a tony community such as Beaver Creek. The insouciant time-share owner may visit the Vail, Avon, and Beavercreek page at Interval International, and "discover" 16 properties. These properties are vastly different, and woe to the decision-maker who chooses poorly for his family. Beaver Creek has several very fine properties, and some research is necessary. Beaver Creek has become a true four-season resort village and is home to some very expensive second and permanent homes. The minute I saw St. James Place available, I traded for a summer week. St. James Place at 210 Offerson Road, P.O. Box 1512, Avon, CO 81620 970-845-9300 800-626-7100) is not in Avon; the property is in Beaver Creek. This property offers 1-4 bedrooms and bathrooms. The two photos on the website will provide only a glimpse of the appointments of this property. The website provides the following description: Located in the heart of the prestigious Beaver Creek Resort Village, St. James Place provides the ideal mountain vacation home. Shopping, dining, ice-skating, and the Vilar Performing Arts Center are outside your door. Both downhill and cross-country skiing are available, or you can visit the slopes at Vail nine miles away. In the summer, hiking, horseback riding, fly-fishing, golf, and a myriad of other activities are nearby. After a busy day, relax by the indoor pool, work out in the exercise room, or enjoy dinner at the restaurant on-site. Another website (http://beavercreek.snow.com/home/) provides the following: At the gate you leave the world behind. A luxury resort with the cozy feel of an Alpine village, Beaver Creek Resort is nestled at the foot of North America¹s World Cup Mountain. It is perhaps the very best of luxury family skiing, and has earned accolades of awards for its food, wine, and service. These websites are very accurate in an assessment of the lifestyle at Beaver Creek. We have enjoyed skiing at Beaver Creek as well as several summer holidays at this perfect mountain resort. Beaver Creek is a feast for the eyes, a delight for the senses. The influence of renowned resorts such as Switzerland's St. Moritz, Italy's Cortina, and Spain's Val d'Aran led to the creation of a unique mountain resort full of excitement and village luxury.... When George Townsend first settled in the valley in 1881, he knew he'd found something special- an exceptional mountain, lined with aspen groves and beautiful vistas that would become a world-renowned destination. In 1972, Vail continued his vision by purchasing the land and began designing a resort that combined western hospitality and European charm. Obstacles delayed resort completion, but on December 15, 1980, Beaver Creek finally opened to the public. Beaver Creek is a planned and fully developed residential community. Care has been taken to provide underground parking, and a true pedestrian village. Beaver Creek is charismatic, disarming, and enigmatic. The resort village is a delight to shop, to ski, to hike, or simply to appreciate the elegance of the mountains. Numerous restaurants (reservations) provide a variety of cuisine; however, if the tourist requires a supermarket, then a short drive to a different village is required.

After I booked and can't cancel I received an email that the property is under renovation and the courtyard would be closed and there would be exterior work going on during my stay. Every one of their rooms is impacted by noise in the courtyard on a good day let alone crews jackhammering the whole time. I feel like their employee should have let me know. Very disappointed!

There were at least four restaurants, one gelato spot, and two coffee shops within walking proximity. I paid $50 for valet, but no one picked the car up until after I left it there and upon checkout, I had to walk to get my car in the garage, which I thought was a little bit weird for paying the valet fee. They should just say it is $50 for "parking" versus "valet." My bed was comfortable. The room had a little kitchen: a coffee maker, glasses, plates, cups, flatware, a little fridge and a microwave. There was a fireplace. I had a tub and a nice vanity to sit at to get ready. I could open the windows to let outside air in, which was lovely. Front desk staff were kind. They actually texted me before arrival to see if there's anything I wanted in my room, which was appreciated and kind.
