Terrible customer service. I booked a reservation for my boss and called the front desk to verify they would be able to park the trailer that they transport their artwork in. And also park their car. The front desk assured me that was correct. Because of that I booked a second reservation for a month later and this time I put a note in the reservation Stayed in the need for parking for both the trailer in the truck. I got a call back at Park in the trailer and leave it there without being attached to the car for any period at all is unacceptable. And not allowed. What horrible customer service. They should educate their front desk people better to give out correct information. This would've been a disaster if my boss had shown up and they weren't allowed to unhitch the trailer. Disappointed with the grounds but not with the room. I think overall my stay was fine. While I was there I was put off a bit by the staff staring at me walking to the hot tubs that were closed and no one said anything. I watched this happen to another couple as well so I know that no one at the front desk told us. I had even called the day before to confirm the hot tubs were open, and it wasn't mentioned. The room, especially for the price and location was great. They do however strategically take photos so you don't see there isn't a working fireplace so take that into account when booking in the winter. Overall it was a fine stay but I will not be back. No problem we were told. What a joke! First there are very limited handicap parking and then our unit required using stairs to access. I am waiting for one of us to fall. The rooms are pretty small packed with furniture so we are banging our shins into bed frames. Not only was front desk unhelpful they were pretty rude. I do not see how this facility can possibly be ADA compliant. So many issues for mobility challenge people that are not addressed. Stay somewhere else. Do not endorse this place by staying here. By the next day it was almost all melted. I appreciated that snowplows were busy keeping the roads clear. However, they did end up closing Interstate 70 for the day. Good thing I had everything necessary to stay inside. The front desk employees were always nice and helpful with all my questions. This place is actually a time-share that non-members can rent for a night or more. It's huge, with multiple hot tubs and a heated outdoor pool, making it great for families; we saw quite a few kids during our stay. Each unit has a kitchen and a balcony. The setup is surprising, as you enter directly into the bedroom and have to walk through it to get to the living area. Our place was comfortable, not too big, but perfect for my husband and me. It was a little dated, except for the bathroom, which had been remodeled. What I liked the most about it is the location. A free shuttle to the base of the ski area in Beaver Creek is right at the door of the condo. There are also a few restaurants and businesses within easy walking distance from the building. Parking is free, but I noticed a small resort fee of $16 per day. Overall, it seems to be one of the least expensive places to stay during peak ski season. This lodge has some nice amenities, but isn't that great overall. One of the drawbacks is the noise. My room was nice, clean, modern, and had a decent bed. The rooms come with WiFi, flat screen TV's and a kitchenette. There's an indoor pool, hot tub, ping pong tables, and a fire pit. It's also located close to skiing and shopping. That's about where the positives end. Because the indoor pool, hot tub, ping pong tables, and fire pit are indoors it gets really noisy. Some people were having a party in the fire pit one night and they were obnoxiously loud. The beds are located in a nook near the door, so you hear everything happening outside. Not to mention all the noise from the room upstairs coming through the poorly insulated ceiling. Before making my reservation, I reviewed the lodge's website. It listed a number of free amenities, including parking on it. The website I used to make my reservation didn't say anything about parking or resort fees. When I checked in, they said they were going to charge me $15.45 a day for parking. When I told her I would park on the street, she said they would charge me the fee anyway. When I asked why, if I was parking on the street, she for amenities like WiFi. WiFi is also liste as free on the hotel's website. I asked to speak with a manager, who defended the charge. She said parking is free if you book through the hotel's website, but they charge for it if you book through RCI. I explained that I didn't book through RCI and the charge wasn't listed on the website I used. Then she said they sent me an e-mail after I made the reservation which mentioned the charge. I never saw the e-mail. You can't tack on extra fees after the reservation is made any Charging customers undisclosed fees is false advertising and a form of fraud. It's also considered fraud in the execution of a contract. I looked up Colorado law, and the way this hotel charged me those extra fees is illegal. read more

The room and location was great, staff very friendly and welcoming. Our only complaint was that the indoor pool, hot tub and ping pong tables were all set up and at 8am, EVERY day we were woke up to kids yelling and playing in the pool, along with bouncing ping pong balls. We were here for a week in our anniversary, was really looking forward to sleeping in, peacefully. My only suggestion is to keep the interior activities closed until at least 11am. read more

Given everything I had to pay for my stay via a timeshare exchange it was a very bad deal. The rooms are dated, dark and lack ventilation. It is small and has a single burner to make food. There is no daily service but thanks fully got towels, while grimy looking, refreshed as needed. This place failed to impress and all it had going for it was the short distance to vail since all things Beaver Creek were closed or limited due to the lack of snow despite it being a holiday weekend. The place was a real disappointment when compared to other timeshare exchanges. It was also very loud at all hours since door serious spacing and lacked privacy. I do not recommend. You should do your homework and stay somewhere nicer. Staff was friendly and the only reason a 2 star. Don't forget they charge a daily resort fee on top of room and for what I don't know. read more

Affordable lodging in the heart of Avon. If you're planning to stay a few days, I definitely suggest The Christie Lodge. The rooms are spacious enough for 4 people (2 couples or a family) with a Murphy bed in the living space. The kitchen comes fully equipped with all cooking essentials: dishes, glassware, pots and pans and even an electric skillet. There is a single electric countertop burner which would make it easy to cook a few meals which I highly suggest doing since eating out can really add up. There is an outdoor heated pool and hot tub along with 2 indoor hot tubs which were great to enjoy after a long day on the slopes. The rooms have a fireplace and sell logs at the front desk making the evenings very cozy. About a 5 minute walk to the Riverfront Express gondola which took you right to another lift. This place is a bit of an enigma. It seems like the architect might have imbibed on mushrooms while staring at an Escher print. There are so many stairs and catwalks. To get to the car, it is up a half-flight of stairs, across a catwalk, down a full set of stairs then up a quarter flight of stairs. Similar story to get to the front door: up, over, across, down, over, down. Kind of fun to figure out the optimal path to anywhere you are going. Room was comfortable, but not fancy. Couch was really a Murphy bed, and WAY better than most pullouts. That and a queen in the room we were in would be comfy for four, or real nice separation for me and my daughter. Fridge and coffee maker were all we needed. Best thing might be location. Again, nothing fancy, but on basically the first stop of the skier express bus and nearly the first off too. Super convenient! Also within walking distance of really good eats. We had Pho, German food and fantastic Italian within minutes of the door (once you navigate the stairs!). For a fraction of what you would pay elsewhere, this place is a good spot to crash and recuperate and then hit the slopes again. read more

I am glad that our experience was great!! We checked in late and Alex was the best. Our room (208W) was everything anyone could ask for. I felt right at home and never wanted to leave. It is spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved that it was separated vs. one large room. For $5 you can purchase a log to enjoy a nice warm fire in the "living room" area. The bathroom was very modern and extremely clean. (While you are there ask for an extra " soap with a hole.) There were plenty of towels, hand towels and washcloths. The kitchen area had all you needed. Fridge, microwave, dishwasher, one burner. Plenty of cooking supplies. Lipton tea, variety of single coffee are provided. I also loved that there were A LOT of hangers in the closet and a rack to hang up coats. This place is HUGE, however, still felt intimate. It smells clean walking through the hotel. There are two pools (in and out) and four hot tubs. I thought the single east hot tub had the more powerful jets and was hottest (but I did not try the outside) The lobby has a restroom, infused water and a rental shop. If I find myself back in this area (and I am hoping I do) I will absolutely stay here again!! Plenty of free parking. Free bus shuttle in front of the hotel. It is one of the first stops so you can have a seat. Across the street is a Walgreens. We arrived late and were able to run over to grab some items for breakfast during our stay. This is a perfect 3 star hotel. There is nothing wrong with it. It's just a nice affordable place that's a good spot to get to the slopes and then shower and crash after a day of skiing. First of all, it's like Dr. Seuss designed this place! You have to see it to believe it, but there are staircases all over the place that make absolutely no sense. It's a little inconvenient, but if you embrace it as quirky, it's not so bad. You'll see what I mean when you get there. The biggest benefit of the place is its value related to its proximity to both Beaver Creek and Vail, and how easy it is to get to the mountain at BC. The free skier shuttle stops at the front door and is very easy to take to Beaver Creek. If you prefer to drive, it's less than 5 minutes to the cheap lot where you can take the gondola or about 10 minutes to the more expensive lot at the actual base. Vail is 15 min away. We stayed for 8 days for just over $1,000 bucks which I thought was a great deal. The place is definitely out of date, don't get me wrong, and that's one of the reasons it's so affordable. But we had absolutely no issue with our room as a home base to cook simple breakfasts, shower, sleep, and unwind with a little TV. As a couple it was perfect. If you were 3 or 4 people and were trying to cohabitate with someone sleeping in the bedroom and someone in the murphy bed in the living room it would be... intimate. I don't recommend that unless you are very close with the people you're staying with. You can hear each person in the bathroom (clearly) and most of the conversations. I also don't recommend trying to cook anything that isn't exceedingly simply. You get one burner on the stove, so we did one-skillet breakfasts where we fried bacon then cooked eggs in the grease. There are two indoor hot tubs, an indoor pool, an outdoor hot tub, and and outdoor pool. None of them are particularly beautiful but we did take advantage of the hot tubs for sore muscles from skiing. There's also an indoor ping pong table near the hot tubs. Inside your room you can hear the sounds of the hallways so I definitely recommend asking for a room that has a little distance from this space. There is a subway inside the hotel which came in handy on a day that we were dog tired! read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! Service is poor. Rooms are updated but they skipped updating the beds. Our bed was so hard and squeaky and uncomfortable we barely got any sleep making for a long day of skiing. Mgmt responded saying they were replacing the beds but really, they should have been replaced 5+ years ago. The bedrooms are right as you enter the door and next to the hallway so if anyone opens a door or is outside talking, you can hear them plain as day. Our lampshade had blood stains on it and it was turned around to hide the stains rather than replaced. There was a chair with metal sticking out that ripped my ski pants and scratched my daughter. The TV had pixels missing. The room remodels were such a great opportunity to really elevate this place but it was really just shining a turd. This place is the most bizarre interior architecture I have ever seen. Stairs all over but don't always take you where you want to be; and an elevator at the very far end of the complex. Do not stay on the third floor unless you are an Olympic athlete. You enter your "suite" and nearly trip on the bed. The kitchen has one electric burner and an electric frying pan. Microwave food is about all one can do. The bed is one mattress and the sheets don't even stay tucked in. The WiFi is an absolute joke. Going to the common area and try the WiFi works best. The common area laundry room was adequate but various things were out of order. The AC is a room unit vented through the fireplace that must run day and night to cool the main bedroom at the other end of the unit. That's when you use the ceiling fan over the bed. This place is tired and needs work. I used timeshare points and do not think it is value for the money I spent. The staff were helpful but if absolutely no use in recommending things in the area. Calling one of them a concierge is a joke. Grab the numerous pamphlets and go with that. The location, my view facing the 70 freeway, was the best thing I can say. read more

This is a story of a great lady in her declining years She's seen better days, but is still hanging on the best she can with grace. A series of lawsuits over the years related to timeshare sales dating back to 1985 have damaged her image and reputation but not her heart. The noise one reviewer complained about may have resulted in a policy change, because all such activity is prohibited until 9 AM at this time. And there is absolutely no complaints about the staff on my part. The recommendation they gave me to Pazzo's Pizza across the street was great! My room seems to have an upgraded bathroom, so improvements and maintenance are being attempted to extend her life. I used the indoor hot tubs at least once a day and enjoyed every therapeutic minute! No, this property is not pristine, but if you're interested in value over luxury, this place can't be beat. Through RCI, I was able to take advantage of one of their deals which included 7 nights for less than $300! This is one of the great values for ski lodging in North America. A large portion of the property is remodeled, and the rooms are really sweet - hardwood floors, good size fridge, one-burner cooktop, wood-burning fireplace, updated bathrooms with new fixtures, tile work and plenty of hot water - the rooms are VERY nice. When booking, ask for one of the remodeled rooms, I think they were referred to as "wow rooms," and we did say "wow" several times when we walked in. It's also in a very good location. Walkable even in winter to some of the best spots in Avon (two blocks or less), the liquor store, the grocery store, great restaurants, etc - check google maps for yourself. On site amenities are plentiful... Laundry on site ($2.00 per load to wash or dry). Ski gear shop, with gear rental on site. Rental cars on site. Restaurant and bar on site. Gym on site. Heated pool and hot tubs. This is our seventh trip to Avon/Beaver Creek and this is the most convenient and best accommodations we have found (we actually prefer it to staying at much more expensive places on the mountain, because of the convenience and the comfort of the rooms). The hotel room is small but useable. Had about 3/4 kitchen. Bathroom was small but again useable. That is the good news. The rest of the resort I would give between a 0 and 1. The staff with the exception of Andrew was not friendly from the start. I booked through American Express corporate travel. As soon as I got up to the desk all they cared about was how I booked. I mean I had to pay upfront so who cares. First room we got smelled like fish and had to be moved. Going back and forth to the desk is no easy task. Every floor has stairs for some reason. For our honeymoon we traveled to Avon, Colorado. We had a little trouble with our reservation but the front desk was great and helped figure out the situation. We stayed for a week and I loved that it was close to everything, Walmart was about 3-4 minutes away, hiking trails were about 5-10 minutes away. I loved our hotel room, we felt like at home. As a family of four we found Christie's Lodge to be the perfect place to stay to ski Beavercreek. It was convenient with a shuttle that picks you up right in front. It had a great outdoor fire pit, heated pool and hot tub as well as 2 indoor hot tubs and an indoor fire pit. The accommodations weren't anything super spacious or fancy, but nice enough with all the basics you would need(I.e. paper towel, soap, dish detergent and s&p). If you are like us and ski most of the day we found it to be great! We brought stuff to make a hot breakfast each morning and they provided coffee filter/coffee and tea. There is no oven and only one burner, but that was sufficient for us. We ate dinner out each night. Dinners were walking distance as well. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with any questions we had. We stayed on the 3rd floor so we didn't have much noise. There was a 9pm curfew on the ping pong table and indoor hot tubs, so it was quiet when we settled down around 10pm. The subway in the place was a nice perk for an after skiing snack or bringing a sub with you on the slopes. read more

This place should be called "Escher's Lodge". As in MC Escher, the guy who did those illustrations of impossible stairways. You remember malls built in the 1990s that were designed with confusing ramps & stairways criss-crossing them, so that even when you saw the store you wanted to visit it was impossible to get there directly? Well, the sadistic psychopath who designed this hotel must have LOVED those malls. Although there are elevators, they don't really go to your room - they lead you to the entrance of one of those exciting Halloween "Escape Buildings" and you have to find your way from this entrance point through various barriers to get to/from your room. It's like when you're in a casino trying to find the exit, the design makes it impossible to find you way. Making it even more fun are the interior walkways which are narrow to begin with, but end up blocked by housekeeping trolleys and piles of skis & boots, so just when you thought you were getting close to your goal you need to clamber over the mess or do a 180º and find another path. Oh, and the showers! They have this amazingly wonderful design for the shower control, I think it's from Soviet-era Finland, very elegant but IMPOSSIBLE to use. You get a blast of either supercooled droplets or live steam, as you go from one extreme to the other the flow LITERALLY STOPS. You'd think they'd fix this considering their high nightly rate, until you realize they provide a shampoo that strips all moisture from your hair but NO CONDITIONER. Seriously, what does a little tube of conditioner cost? The people at the counter were nice but even they remarked at how stupid the place is, I guess it's a bit cheaper than other places in the area but that only makes it more attractive to folks who love to scream and yell at each other all night. If you are a masochistic idiot who loves dragging your luggage up & down stairs and back & forth through a maze, being alternately frozen & scalded in the shower, and having a dining choice of Subway or NOTHING... couldn't recommend this dump more. Resembles a poorly proportioned, 3-story, 80's mall. (see photo labeled "80's") Lobby smells like strong chlorine, cheap potpourri, and gassy snow. (see photo labeled "Lobby" scratch 'n sniff) Floor plan doesn't lose a beat when compared to several large airports - I could see planes pulling in for disembarking. I could see pilots, flying drunk from love and pilates. (see photo labeled "Floor Plan = large airport") Floors in all public spaces are a lawsuit waiting to happen with the slippery ("easy to maintain"?) surface that is hell on wet ski boots. (see photo labeled "hell on wet ski boots") I have stayed here 3 times in the past 10 years* and you must know, I do not like poorly proportioned 80's malls and I hate the putrid, chemically smell of chlorine combined with the sweet, nostalgic smell fo portpourri. (I actually like the gassy snow smell, however.) So, why do I return and how could I possibly be a fan? 1. Value and location**. 2. Hot tubs and ping pong. 3. Convenience and service. If you have arrived to ski at the best ski resort/snow/service/lessons on the planet, and you do not want to pay $1000 a night, this "Lodge" is an awesome choice. As far as value, $149 a night will not get you many 2 bedroom places with full kitchens and large living areas with easy access to hot tubs and ping pong and pool and other amenities. AND you step out of the front door, get into a shuttle bus, and ride up to the mountain. Easy. For the promise of a perfect day on the slopes and experiencing the heavenly village of Beaver Creek, I will endure bad proportions and worse smells in Avon. *It has been 5 years since my last visit, but I dropped in yesterday to check it out, snap some photos, and see if it was still poorly proportioned and still smelled. It is and it does. The big changes are the half a million dollar improvements including new outdoor pool and hot tub. Next big renovation is in March of 2011 and includes all interior paint, carpets, and new sofa sleepers. **Walking distance to Beaver Liquors: Our customers come first. I will tell you the bad things first. First the bed is horrible., You can literally feel the individual Springs when rest on it. The pillows are even worse. We even went out and bought our own pillows. The service is lackluster.... favorite phrases... I don't know. My Partner and I were scheduled to check in on March 1st 2020 for 2 nights, on Feb 25th he was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia and order by the Doctor at UC Davis in Sacramento to bed rest and no altitudes in the near future. I called the Christie Lodge in Avon, CO on Feb 26th and asked them if I provided a Doctors letter if they would give us a refund. They refused and basically said too bad! Then the lady on the phone said "maybe we"ll see you on your next trip" yea right! The Christie Lodge Kept our $468.00 and we never got to the lodge. Very petty and unprofessional, I called Expedia who we booked it through and they were no help what so ever, the man at Expedia told us with a Doctors letter it falls under extraordinary circumstance and that the lodge should refund us the monies. My husband and I came and spent an evening for our anniversary. We came during the off season and paid $99 for the night. The rooms are adorable and super cozy. The interior of the hotel and grounds are a little outdated but very well kept. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Having a subway and Vietnamese restaurant on site was really convenient. We enjoyed both indoor and outdoor jacuzzi tubs and there was a fire pit outside at the heated pull. For what we paid for our room, we had a wonderful stay for the value. The first thing I would have to say is, this place is a little dated. We took the elevator up to our floor. However as we walked to our room, there is another staircase on the straight walk to your room. So, you have to take them to get to your room. It's like a half staircase. A bad design maybe. Inconvenient with all your ski gear. When we arrived in the room, it smelled like cheese pizza. We later found out that there is a Subway sandwich shop underneath the rooms. Inside the room is ok. It was clean but very outdated. The pullout was like sleeping on a metal rack. The main bed wasn't much better. But it would do for the night. It had a great little well-stocked kitchen. The bathroom was in fairly good shape. I think what this boils down to is that we would stay here for skiing in the village. But not for a vacation. I think up top is a better deal. This is a crash pad for skiing or a place to stay if you have a family and need the kitchen. read more

The Christie Lodge was a decent place to stay. We stayed here 7 days, and the coolest thing was all of the amenities that are available here. They have both indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzi's. They have a gym, pool table, ping pong table and gaming room. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi was probably our favorite because it was heated, so it was perfect for when it was really cold outside or rainy. Our room was pretty nice. We did have an issue with the air conditioning though- it was a portable unit and it didn't cool the entire room. So that kind of sucked. Also when they said they would come bring new towels and wash cloths on Wednesday, they didn't come. We called the next day and they brought new ones right away. But we expected that they would have come when they said they would. Also, we did not have an oven. Not sure if all rooms are like that, but we picked up a frozen pizza without realizing that we didn't have an oven to cook it in. Lol Overall our stay was nice here. read more
