    Vibe: Cross-country road trip Stay: 1 week Location: walking distance to restaurants Transportation: shuttles/buses available Amenities: heated outdoor pool, 2 indoor hot tubs, outdoor hot tub, free daily local newspaper, fire pits for warming, heated lobby areas, Subway and Vietnamese restaurants within lodge, Monday wine & cheese reception, Wednesday movie night with popcorn Room: fireplace, a/c unit in warm weather, coffee pot, refrigerator, microwave, hot plate type burner, 2 cable TVs, 1 bathroom with shower, dishes, silverware, WiFi, phone, balcony with chairs and table, dining table with 4 chairs, desk My stay was very enjoyable here! It's an older 3 story lodge, however they have made updates to areas that matter to me (like bathroom shower). I went 7 miles away to get groceries at the Safeway upon arrival. This proved to be a good move, bc I never had to leave the lodge once unpacked. One day it snowed 10" and I enjoyed watching it out the patio doors. It was on May 7th, so unexpected but beautiful! By the next day it was almost all melted. I appreciated that snowplows were busy keeping the roads clear. However, they did end up closing Interstate 70 for the day. Good thing I had everything necessary to stay inside. The front desk employees were always nice and helpful with all my questions. I noticed out the door there are bus, shuttle and taxi services if you want to park at lodge and let someone else get you around.

    This place is actually a time-share that non-members can rent for a night or more. It's huge, with multiple hot tubs and a heated outdoor pool, making it great for families; we saw quite a few kids during our stay. Each unit has a kitchen and a balcony. The setup is surprising, as you enter directly into the bedroom and have to walk through it to get to the living area. Our place was comfortable, not too big, but perfect for my husband and me. It was a little dated, except for the bathroom, which had been remodeled. What I liked the most about it is the location. A free shuttle to the base of the ski area in Beaver Creek is right at the door of the condo. There are also a few restaurants and businesses within easy walking distance from the building. Parking is free, but I noticed a small resort fee of $16 per day. Overall, it seems to be one of the least expensive places to stay during peak ski season. We'd definitively go back when skiing in the area.

    The room and location was great, staff very friendly and welcoming. Our only complaint was that the indoor pool, hot tub and ping pong tables were all set up and at 8am, EVERY day we were woke up to kids yelling and playing in the pool, along with bouncing ping pong balls. We were here for a week in our anniversary, was really looking forward to sleeping in, peacefully. My only suggestion is to keep the interior activities closed until at least 11am.

    Rude staff, depressing accommodations Smells like chlorine. Bed frames jam your knees. ouch! Painful. Endless stairs, poor lighting and just depressing. Strange layout poor design.

    Given everything I had to pay for my stay via a timeshare exchange it was a very bad deal. The rooms are dated, dark and lack ventilation. It is small and has a single burner to make food. There is no daily service but thanks fully got towels, while grimy looking, refreshed as needed. This place failed to impress and all it had going for it was the short distance to vail since all things Beaver Creek were closed or limited due to the lack of snow despite it being a holiday weekend. The place was a real disappointment when compared to other timeshare exchanges. It was also very loud at all hours since door serious spacing and lacked privacy. I do not recommend. You should do your homework and stay somewhere nicer. Staff was friendly and the only reason a 2 star. Don't forget they charge a daily resort fee on top of room and for what I don't know.

    Affordable lodging in the heart of Avon. If you're planning to stay a few days, I definitely suggest The Christie Lodge. The rooms are spacious enough for 4 people (2 couples or a family) with a Murphy bed in the living space. The kitchen comes fully equipped with all cooking essentials: dishes, glassware, pots and pans and even an electric skillet. There is a single electric countertop burner which would make it easy to cook a few meals which I highly suggest doing since eating out can really add up. There is an outdoor heated pool and hot tub along with 2 indoor hot tubs which were great to enjoy after a long day on the slopes. The rooms have a fireplace and sell logs at the front desk making the evenings very cozy. About a 5 minute walk to the Riverfront Express gondola which took you right to another lift. No need to drive anywhere in town - everything is very walkable!

The rooms here are very well appointed and the staff ensures that every possible need is attended to. From the crew at the valet station, the concierge desk (who host daily après ski hot chocolate and fresh-baked cookie parties!), the housekeeping team, the ski valets, the spa attendants, and all of the wonderful F&B folks, the service here is impeccable. The hotel amenities include an elegant spa, well-equipped gym, pilates and yoga studios, heated salt water pool, and three infinity hot tubs that are perfect for après ski soaking. Of particular note, the Westin has updated its Ski Valet shop which offers faultless service for those availing themselves of the Beaver Creek Ski resort. The valets bring your skis to the Gondola which is right outside the door! The lobby bar, the Lookout Bar, and the Stoke and Rye served our guests with superbly crafted food and drink. Sonja managed every aspect of our affair, ensuring every dimension of a large party was attended to the last detail. Sonja listened to the Bride's comments and discerned solutions that were both creative and thoughtful. We had several dignitaries in our party - two Senators, a US Attorney, and a Fox News commentator - and Sonja saw to it that consideration was made for both their privacy and security. Much of the success of our special event rests with Sonja. The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Avon is an exquisitely fashionable property but it is the staff that makes the experience special. By the way, none of the rooms in this place have any air conditioning. It makes sense in Vail, CO because the weather is quite mild in the summer/fall season. This experience: The front desk staff is new and totally inexperienced and incapable of making simple decisions and exercising obvious discretion. The young lady that checked us in royally screwed up my reservation and room selection. I have a lifetime status with Marriott with a well-defined online loyalty profile with Marriott. Yet, instead of even bothering to look at my loyalty profile, she assigned me a room that was quite awful. When I came down, another person (Maria) took on the task of rectifying my sad experience. Luckily, Maria happened to be the Manager on duty. With a very calm head, she rectified the whole horrible mess and ultimately set me up with a very nice room for my wife and I. People such as Maria should be recognized for keeping a cool head, acting professional, and going the extra mile to prioritize customer satisfaction/experience as the ultimate goal in the hospitality business. You may not get Maria when you check-in. But if things go awry (which very well could - given my initial experience) always ask for Maria, the Manager. Will I stay here again? If there are more people there like Maria, yes, I would. Giving three (03) stars due to an hour of frustration and going back-and-forth at the front desk. Hoping next visit would be smoother and better so I can rate this place better.

There's fresh apple cider and coffee in the lobby at night. The rooms are clean, beautiful and super spacious. This is a great location within walking distance to multiple restaurants. The washer/dryer in units are a great add. Having a ski check is an awesome option but we didn't take advantage of it. You're set up with coffee, tea and some soap for the dishwasher and washing machine. Fabulous shower, plenty of linens. The fireplace is an awesome touch. The staff will provide a humidifier on request. Good: the valet team gets an 7/10. They mostly accomplished getting my car to me when I needed it. They were pleasant for the most part. Not a lot of them offered to assist me with my bags. My valet call got "missed" or forgotten the day we left. NOT so ok: 1) Surprise valet cost:After everything was pre-paid. We were notified that if we were bringing a car, it would be a mandatory $45/day/car cost. When booking through Booking.com it wasn't clear, but there might be some notes on the website. 2) Unclear on housekeeping : After the first night I was expecting the beds to be turned. I asked the front desk and a young woman politely explained that housekeeping was additional cost per day unless you were staying for over 7-Days. This was fine but would have been nicer to know in advance. 3) Poor communication : We requested late checkout at 9am the day of our departure. It was confirmed by the Manager that we were good to check out at 11 instead of 10. At 10:01 our room received a call. At 10:05 we had someone knocking at our door. At 10:20 we had a maintenance person at our door. We called to the front desk to ask the to stop sending individuals and we were working on leaving. The manager was extremely apologetic and made sure we were comfortable leaving. David is the only reason this review gets a 3 star review instead of 1. Very kind and understanding. They say that all rooms are "presidential", however, they just seem to be larger in size with fancier soaps, dishes and silverware. Really no seasons ir anything and no other amenities. Just because you have fancy silverware, plates, cups, and pots and pans does not make this a high end location. Being In the center of town is convenient, however, if you've been to a Worldmark location, you know most resorts are on the outskirts of town." as a sidenote, be prepared to spend a fortune when parking your vehicle. There's no other locations to park other than the resort itself and it's valet only..... an hefty $45 a day.... And then the valets have signs out for tips.... Of course. While there is no pool or outdoor activities, they do try to have events in the owners lounge, or snacks in the lobby. Again, more of an average type of event. Considering this is a "presidential" room location. You would expect more. For the most part, stuff was very nice. They all seem to be well informed of the area, and always had a smile on their face.

The loquacious salesperson comprehends that winter inventory will virtually sell itself; however, several winter months of maintenance fees will not support the bottom line. This simple analysis has led to a market glut of time-shares in destination areas such as Orlando. Another factor is that the U.S. time-share market clientele is simply not attentive to the geography or demographics of The Rocky Mountains. Interval International categorizes every state from Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming as the "Rocky Mountains." These states may indeed share the Rockies, but these states have very ingenuous differences even for the client who is a skier. And specifically, there are market differences in Vail, Avon, and Beavercreek, Colorado. All three of these communities are grouped together on the Interval International website with no discussion of the vibrant differences that location provides. A client from the Midwest or East with an upscale property will unlikely be unhappy to learn that following several hours of flight and rental car drive that the family will be vacationing near I-70 or in a poorly located time-share. Beavercreek, Colorado is near Avon, Colorado, and the difference in ambience is equal to the vertical difference between the two villages. Several years ago, my wife and I viewed the construction of St. James Place in Beaver Creek; then we experienced a sales tour. The developers of St. James Place in Beaver Creek incorporated the aesthetics of a mountain property that blended in perfectly with the architecture of Beaver Creek. Zoning regulations are vital to a tony community such as Beaver Creek. The insouciant time-share owner may visit the Vail, Avon, and Beavercreek page at Interval International, and "discover" 16 properties. These properties are vastly different, and woe to the decision-maker who chooses poorly for his family. Beaver Creek has several very fine properties, and some research is necessary. Beaver Creek has become a true four-season resort village and is home to some very expensive second and permanent homes. The minute I saw St. James Place available, I traded for a summer week. St. James Place at 210 Offerson Road, P.O. Box 1512, Avon, CO 81620 970-845-9300 800-626-7100) is not in Avon; the property is in Beaver Creek. This property offers 1-4 bedrooms and bathrooms. The two photos on the website will provide only a glimpse of the appointments of this property. The website provides the following description: Located in the heart of the prestigious Beaver Creek Resort Village, St. James Place provides the ideal mountain vacation home. Shopping, dining, ice-skating, and the Vilar Performing Arts Center are outside your door. Both downhill and cross-country skiing are available, or you can visit the slopes at Vail nine miles away. After I booked and can't cancel I received an email that the property is under renovation and the courtyard would be closed and there would be exterior work going on during my stay. Every one of their rooms is impacted by noise in the courtyard on a good day let alone crews jackhammering the whole time. I feel like their employee should have let me know. Very disappointed!

They should just say it is $50 for "parking" versus "valet." My bed was comfortable. The room had a little kitchen: a coffee maker, glasses, plates, cups, flatware, a little fridge and a microwave. There was a fireplace. I had a tub and a nice vanity to sit at to get ready. I could open the windows to let outside air in, which was lovely. Front desk staff were kind. They actually texted me before arrival to see if there's anything I wanted in my room, which was appreciated and kind.
