Important note: My husband and I were on an anniversary trip, and were staying at the hotel with a friends and family rate. My sister works for Marriott hotels. All to say, the Ritz is out of our tax bracket irl. This spa is so luxurious! I had a 90 min deep tissue massage with Christa and I swear she fixed a hip issue I'd been having for a long time. It did, however cost me a whopping $400 though. I have a feeling their usual clientele doesn't bat an eye at that price tag... but holy guacamole that's a lot of money. We stayed at the hotel, so we had access to the hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge any time. My husband loved the sauna & cold plunge. If you love a good spa day, then the Ritz-Carlton Spa Bachelor Gulch is the place for you! It's a great option for a little rest and relaxation while staying in the Beaver Creek/Bachelor Gulch area. This spa has a nice cozy atmosphere, with a mountain vibe, and the staff here are very professional. I got a Relaxation Massage while I was there, which started with a heat pack placed on my back while the masseuse worked on my legs, that was wonderful! I felt great afterwards, and loved how at the end of the massage they leave you with a little treat to enjoy, mine was a chocolate with some fresh berries. As you walk through the different water features it starts to have more of a cave like appearance, which makes you feel like you're transported underground almost, but the lighting was far too dim in these rooms. I could see this being problematic for an elderly person with low vision, and for that reason I wouldn't pick this spa if I wanted to treat let's say my grandma to a spa day. The water features consist of your usual favorites like a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, cold plunge, and a large grotto which is coed. Otherwise, the entire ladies lounge was lovely and had a nice upscale feel to it. I liked the variety of tea options they have, to be able to make yourself a hot cup of tea while enjoying the spa. They have everything you need if you wanted to shower and change after your treatment and the fitness center is open to spa guests as well. The massage I had, in my opinion, was the perfect thing to help me acclimate on my recent trip to Colorado. If you're looking for that luxurious mountain spa day, I would definitely visit the Ritz! read more

I am a Ritz-Carlton rewards member and I've been to them all over the world. This specific spa is divine. The tubs, sauna and steam room are absolutely pristine, and a joy to be in. The design of the space is also very beautiful and tastefully curated. Spa staff is mindful and attentive. The services could use some work. I booked a massage and facial. The massage was bad. It lacked skill, dynamic flow, and pressure. I requested a river stone massage, something got mixed up and received a different massage with the stones as an add on. I canceled the facial as I didn't want to risk having the same practitioner or someone equally as worse. Great for the day, would be weary of booking any service. read more

We headed to the spa early, looked around the gift shop, where the ladies were very kind and helpful in suggesting products that might be helpful for us. Beverly, the ladies attendant had a quiet calm about her and made sure our needs were taken care of. We loved the circuit set up, we didn't fully complete the circuit, but loved the steam room, the whirlpool, and the cold plunge (for like 15 seconds, LOL). The tropical green tea and dried fruit and peeled almonds in the ladies lounge was fantastic! We settled into the ladies lounge for a short period of time before our therapist came and took us back for our massages. My bestie and I both book the 80 Minute Stress relief massage, we added on CBD oil, and Pink Scalp Massage. My therapist was Christina, my bestie's therapist was Alex. I was impressed with Christina's knowledge, and her desire to help me find relief for my planter fasciitis, she even showed me an exercise to help with it that I wasn't aware of. Christina started with my most pressing issue which was my feet and legs and she was absolutely amazing! She definitely knows what she's doing and I highly recommended her as a therapist. I go to a sports medicine massage therapist regularly, so my exceptions are typically low when I go to a new massage therapist...Christina exceeded my expectations! Once she started on my back I started having muscle spasms/cramps in my mid back. This kept happening, she was very knowledgeable and help to relieve the spasms/cramps. This happened 3 or 4 times within a 5-10 minute span. Christina said that she was going to have to stop the massage because this issue, and that it wasn't good for me. She noticed this and some other symptoms I was having as Altitude Sickness, or some may call it Mountain Sickness. She instructed me to take deep breaths, and get up slowly, she stepped out while I got dressed, she helped me to the ladies lounge, and immediately provided me with some water. Once I was settled she was off to gather supplies to help combat the altitude sickness, this included Gatorade, a can of oxygen, some of the pink scalp mask that I missed out on and some CBD muscle rub to put on my back for the spasms/cramps I was dealing with. Then the Spa manager Adam came to my aid as well. He assured me that this happens to many people and that it's nothing to be upset about...as I was completely MORTIFIED, and tearful. He had several Gatorades delivered to my room, provided me with a nasal cannula and escorted me to the oxygen area, he got me hooked up to the oxygen. Within minutes I started feeling better! I stayed on the oxygen for about 20-30 minutes, and was feeling so much better. They wouldn't allow me to pay for any of the supplies! They also said they would supply me with additional cans of oxygen if I needed it. Their kindness didn't end there! Adam called me the next day to check on me and see how I was feeling, which was incredibly sweet. I cannot brag on the Ritz Carlton Spa staff enough, I will definitely return when I'm back that way! My bestie also said that Alex was an amazing massage therapist, she also receives massages regularly and normally keeps her expectations low when going to a new massage therapist as well. The spa was gorgeous. Some finishing touches that I think would amp up this spa are: Ladies Lounge area - Paint the wood in the spa black like the rooms have been painted to provide a more sleek updated look that would continue the look and feel of the hotel rooms, tissues in the lounge areas, having the fireplace going, replacing the painting with a TV that streams the snowy resort outside. These are not huge downfalls, just adjustments that would upgrade the experience, and modernize the current look. The spa was so clean, the robes were comfy, and the staff was exemplary. I highly recommend this spa and their staff. read more

Had a wonderful experience about a wk ago as always. After traveling the world this is always one of my favorite spas. Come an hour early and enjoy the steam/sauna/ice plunge and hot tub. Well stocked showers/bathrooms. Then the massage - I had Luis who was fantastic. After 3 days of skiing not only worked out the issues I had with massage but also did stretching which my hips really needed. I hope he is still there when I return next year. Awful experience. The spa attendant, Beverly, was rude and acted as if she was doing us a favor by showing us around the spa. She then refused to allow us to put our belongings down on the chaises in the grotto where we wanted to relax . She was miserable and rude. This individual clearly hates her job. I followed up with Adam who manages this spa and was met with a lack of professionalism and not nearly enough accountability. I was told she (rude attendant) would be apologizing and he failed to have her do so. The fact that this property was supposed to be ranked through Amex is disappointing and I will notify my Amex representative. Spend your $500.00 plus (couples massage) elsewhere... the experience was no different than a Massage Envy visit. read more

I'm a bit shocked there are no reviews for this place yet so I'll try to do it some justice. The facilities are incredible. Probably some of the nicest I've been in and I've been to quite a few spas. I can't speak for the services as I only bought a day pass to use the amenities. There are sperate mens and woman's facilities. Inside the mens locker room is a cold dip pool, hot dip pool, large sauna and large steam room. There is a co-Ed "grotto" where mens and womens locker rooms open into if you want to meet/relax with someone of the opposite sex. When using the spa you also have full access to the Ritz gym which is very nice, has a ton of equipment, peletons, etc. You also have access to the outdoor pool which is heated in the winter as well as the outdoor hot tub. Both overlook the slopes. Locker rooms are equip with everything you need to shower and clean up. 10/10 would come back. I actually already came back this was my second time. read more

I usually come to the spa for a massage every year, and have always enjoyed the treatments. This year I am pregnant so skiing is off limits and I decided to try out services other than a massage (which was amazing with Madeline!) and I honestly wish I hadn't. The facial I had was completely sub-par compared to facials I've had at other spas. I was booked for an 80 minute custom facial, I don't have skin issues, but it was my first facial in over 2 years so I was happy to see what the specialist would suggest. After an extremely quick assessment she suggested a more expensive service, the oxygen facial, saying "thats usually what I suggest pregnant people do." Ok, I get it I'm pregnant so there are some limitations, but you're just suggesting this service because that is standard? Did you even look at my skin? She then asked if I wanted extractions, I said yes, she did TWO, yes only TWO, before moving in the next portion of the service. I have come home to find that I still have blackheads all over my nose and a white head on my chin. Honestly I don't know why she even bothered asking me if I wanted extractions if she wasn't planning to really do them. Thats a major reason why I like facials, to decongest my skin! Then once the oxygen portion of the facial came, she ran out of the treatment serum before finishing my entire face, leaving half of it not done. When I asked her about why she wasn't doing the other side of my face, she said she ran out of the treatment and its just one treatment so thats it. I'm sorry but if you didn't manage the amount that was in the vial well thats not a me problem, thats a you problem, especially if I as the client am calling out that you didn't finish my entire face. You need to put in another vial to finish the service you are upselling me on. She then proceeded to use a sheet mask, a SHEET MASK! I have never been to a spa where they use sheet masks instead of a professional mask. Had I known this was part of the service I would have cancelled as 1) I can do a sheet mask at home, and 2) they are quite unpleasant. If I'm getting a professional facial I expect a professional mask. Sadly, there was also no true facial massage, just touching of pressure points on the face. Additionally, the service in total ended up being less than the 80 minutes I had booked as she didn't pick me up from the lounge until after 3 and I was back at my locker getting dressed at 4:20. I complained to the front desk staff, and the woman looked completely unfazed saying, "oh I'm sorry about the inconvenience." Ma'am this is not an inconvenience, are you even listening? Thank goodness the manager Adam (who also is wonderful by the way) happened to walk in. He ended up discounting the service by 50%, but honestly it's still expensive for a facial that felt like nothing. All in all, recommend the beautiful facilities and the massages, but won't be back for other services in the future. read more

Madeline is the best masseuse at the spa! I stayed at the Ritz for a fitness retreat and booked Madeline for three days in a row because she was so amazing. I've had chronic shoulder pain for years and have been to multiple physical therapists. I've been completely pain free for the two weeks since I've seen Madeline. She is one of those masseuses who knows exactly how to find every spot without you having to tell her. She is extremely charismatic so you'll love talking with her but she'll know exactly when to let you fully relax into the massage. I've never had such an amazing massage at a luxury spa, usually they aren't deep enough for me- but Madeline is the absolute best. The spa is also amazing. I highly recommend arriving an hour early so you can use the grotto to do the cold plunge, steam room, whirpool, sauna circuit. It's printed on the wall of the grotto so you know exactly how many minutes to spend in each. read more
