Look at their menu as they have some fun spa procedures that I've never seen before. I had the facial and a 90 minute deep tissue massage and it was perfect. Shout out to the newish young woman, totally forgot her name, who performed a brutal deep tissue massage that I desperately needed. Hands down, the best massage I've ever had. Sandy's touch was strong, but gentle, and the deep tissue massage that she did felt truly amazing. (Turns out, I have many more spots that could benefit from some pressure than I was aware of!) Jennifer at the front desk brings a warm relaxing vibe to the place and Susan, who ons the spa, definitely makes you feel welcome. There's a card game, a little zen garden and a hilarious (!!) book about a beaver that I'm totally buying once I'm back in NY. Hope I'll be able to bring this chill energy with me to the city, and if not, I'd have no choice but to buy tickets to Glenwood Springs and schedule yet another time at the Splendor Mountain Spa. I adore this place. When I have some extra cash to treat myself with- I come here I've had their massages (many times), watsu, and a body scrub. All their staff are professional and have some kind of calming/kind energy to them. You just feel right at home. It's not a profit making business, it's a healing making business. There was a sincere desire to make the experience perfect that many other spas I have attended seem to lack. Some helpful hints: * The Steamy Wonder device is REALLY steamy, but it is adjustable. ASK if you would like it more steamy or eased down a notch. * There was no pre-procedure questionnaire so speak up if you are pregnant, or suffer any medical condition that might be affected by your treatment. * Ring well in advance, this place is popular! I purchased a two hour pre-natal massage package for my wife, including the Watsu water massage and a regular massage - and she liked them so much that she scheduled a massage for me (and I don't usually get massages). My boyfriend took me to Glenwood for my birthday. We both needed a relaxing vacation. We had massages and facials scheduled at Yampah, and the day before we left, we checked the reviews and saw many dissatisfied massage customers. So we called and cancelled. We noticed that Splendor Mountain had sooooo many positive reviews from locals, and locals always know best. So we scheduled a couples massage and facial package. I'm quite a massage snob, I have had neck and upper back pain for years. I usually have to correct my masseuse or give them some sort of direction during the massage. I didn't have to do any of that here. Laura worked on me and she is a massage therapist as well as physical therapist. I can honestly say it was the BEST massage I have ever had!!! Ever!!! I would make the trip just for another massage! The Holistic facial was wonderfully relaxing as well. I can never fully relax during a massage and facial, I was fully able to relax during these because it was obvious that these ladies (Laura and Christine) knew what they were doing. I definitely definitely recommend going here!!! It's located in a small home type building walking distance from The Hotel Denver and Glenwood Hot springs resort. My friend and I took a long weekend girls trip to Glenwood Springs. At the top of our list was a spa day. There are only a handful of spas to choose from, and after looking at what each one offered, we decided to go with Splendor Mountain because they offered watsu massage and you could choose your own spa package. I'm so glad we did, it was a great experience. I had a great massage and foot rub, I really liked the therapist and she gave me great tips about which mineral springs pool we should pick (re: Iron Mountain). I can't say enough about the watsu massage, it is one of the most relaxing things I have ever done, truly a neat experience and one that I will seek out again. I would definitely make the trip to Glenwood for another spa treatment at Splendor Mountain and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice spa day. Prices were reasonable as well. read more

If you are more interested in your treatment than getting cucumber water, admiring expensive fountains and lounging in chairs with tea before your treatment, this is the place for you. I had what I can only describe as a mind-blowing watsu treatment from Susan. I'm sure it's different for everyone. All I can say is if you haven't tried it, you must. It's important to trust your therapist, and Susan is a kind soul who seems to be able to read where your head is when you are in the water and adjusts her techniques accordingly. My friend and I did the hot stone special for couples. I had Spencer and if you want a deep tissue he definitely can deliver. My friend had Tanya and was absolutely in love with her. I am a spa snob and have gone to places as expensive as Burke Williams to the Asian $15 foot massage, I can definitely say this is in my top 3 massages I have had.
