Hands down, the best massage I've ever had. Sandy's touch was strong, but gentle, and the deep tissue massage that she did felt truly amazing. (Turns out, I have many more spots that could benefit from some pressure than I was aware of!) Jennifer at the front desk brings a warm relaxing vibe to the place and Susan, who ons the spa, definitely makes you feel welcome. There's a card game, a little zen garden and a hilarious (!!) book about a beaver that I'm totally buying once I'm back in NY. We had massages and facials scheduled at Yampah, and the day before we left, we checked the reviews and saw many dissatisfied massage customers. So we called and cancelled. We noticed that Splendor Mountain had sooooo many positive reviews from locals, and locals always know best. So we scheduled a couples massage and facial package. I'm quite a massage snob, I have had neck and upper back pain for years. I usually have to correct my masseuse or give them some sort of direction during the massage. I didn't have to do any of that here. Laura worked on me and she is a massage therapist as well as physical therapist. I can honestly say it was the BEST massage I have ever had!!! Ever!!! I would make the trip just for another massage! The Holistic facial was wonderfully relaxing as well. I can never fully relax during a massage and facial, I was fully able to relax during these because it was obvious that these ladies (Laura and Christine) knew what they were doing. My friend and I took a long weekend girls trip to Glenwood Springs. At the top of our list was a spa day. There are only a handful of spas to choose from, and after looking at what each one offered, we decided to go with Splendor Mountain because they offered watsu massage and you could choose your own spa package. I'm so glad we did, it was a great experience. I had a great massage and foot rub, I really liked the therapist and she gave me great tips about which mineral springs pool we should pick (re: Iron Mountain). I can't say enough about the watsu massage, it is one of the most relaxing things I have ever done, truly a neat experience and one that I will seek out again. I would definitely make the trip to Glenwood for another spa treatment at Splendor Mountain and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice spa day. Prices were reasonable as well. read more

I had what I can only describe as a mind-blowing watsu treatment from Susan. I'm sure it's different for everyone. All I can say is if you haven't tried it, you must. I am a spa snob and have gone to places as expensive as Burke Williams to the Asian $15 foot massage, I can definitely say this is in my top 3 massages I have had.
