If you patronize a local dinner spot downtown like birdies or tellers and then want to go to the roof for a drink DO NOT GO IF YOU HAVE LEFTOVERS!!! We had one small to-go box with us last night and we wanted to buy a few drinks and eventually dessert and enjoy the sunset.... but they kicked us out because they have a strict no outside food policy and couldn't let us be there with our small leftovers box! We had to get up and leave. It was a confusing and embarrassing experience. Everyone watched us walk to the elevator and up to the 8th floor and the hostess greeted us and let us sit down. All for the bar tender to tell us we had to leave. We will not be going back out of sheer confusion and embarrassment. read more

My husband and I graduated from Mizzou and were in town so looking for a bar that wasn't super crowded or insane. We never got the chance to check this one out so we went ahead and gave it a try. We wanted to peak to see if it was something up our alley and they wouldn't allow that. We couldn't even get in without paying a ridiculous cover, which is insane. We could have gone to any other bar for free. But, we were there, so we decided to give it a try. It's a typical college bar. No special cocktails, just well drinks. Great prices compared to the city, but on par with most Columbia bars. It was nothing special. Great patio and lots of space but there was nothing that made it worth the cover price. I think we lasted like 20 minutes then left. Cool bar, but the insane cover really doesn't make it worth it. read more

What an awesome bar and it located on, The Roof of Doubletree Hotel. The view is amazing and you have the choice of patio setting or inside if the weather is not to your liking. Being a vintage cocktail snob, I was amazed at the masterfully prepared cocktails from their bartenders. I totally enjoyed their signature cocktail, Truman's Night Cap. It's a variation of an Old Fashioned, with walnut bitters. My favorite of course was my go to cocktail, a Dirty Martini made with Tito's Vodka. The glass was chilled, the vodka has tiny slivers of ice and garnished with three olives. Not only was this cocktail made perfectly, the price blew me away. It was reasonable and affordable. It made it so easy to have two. If you're in COMO, I recommend checking out, The Roof. read more

Food: it was okay, roughly 2 stars. Brussel sprouts were probably the most memorable but not great. Service: awesome, Maggie had like 9 tables alone on Valentine's Day and still held a great mannerism. Ambiance: is fantastic no issues really. What a fun night! This roof top bar was the place to be on Saturday night. Not only did they have a DJ playing, but football was on. The drinks were great and not too expensive! The bartenders did a great job managing the crowd. Will be coming back for sure. read more

Worthless POS manager at this site. My wife went to this place with some friends the other day, and two of them went downstairs to get coffee, as they don't drink alcohol (the Roof apparently does not serve coffee). The manager comes to the table and DEMANDS they leave, as they brought an "outside" drink (the coffee) from the hotel downstairs. This, despite their waitress telling them that it was okay for them to go get coffee from downstairs and bring it up. Oh, and these girls were also the only black people in the bar at the time. My favorite rooftop bar in Columbia! This rooftop bar sits above The Broadway hotel. For reference, as soon as you walk into the hotel, you will walk towards the back and find the elevator to the right that will take you to The Roof. I have been here during the day and at night and I would highly recommend both. In terms of food, it's priced pretty cheap at The Roof. Especially for being connected to a hotel. On the other hand, everything else is pretty cheap in the city of Columbia too, though. The Flatbread is a safe choice (there are a few options)! The hummus trio is honestly just ok, I really didn't enjoy the Hummus Trio aside from the roasted garlic option (they were all pretty bland) but the Crab Spring Rolls or Brussels Sprouts are yummy small plates. P.S. you can also reserve a fire pit which is amazing during the cooler months! You can't reserve on Fridays or Saturdays, though. read more

I would rate this average at 2.5 stars (my phone app won't let me rate at 2.5). The Roof is a nice place to hang or meet up with a friend. There is indoor and outdoor seating. At the evening right before dusk, they'll fold away the umbrellas and get the fire going. The view is okay - but keep in mind, we are in Columbia. The atmosphere here is on point, visually and physically. The view has an incredible lookout to downtown and it has a classy, but at the same time homey feel. The outside is complete with fire pits to keep it cozy even on chilly nights and the inside is nice as well. The staff is super nice and helpful, if you need recommendations on anything Columbia they're bound to give you a good one. The drinks can get pricey but it's worth it for the experience. Wife and I went on a double date tonight with some friends. Thursday night, 7pm. The staff was minimal (overworked) but nice! The roof wasn't very crowded but there was still plenty of people there to enjoy the live music (which was great 5/17/18). I had the prime sirloin burger and it was delicious! Wife had something simple. The total was over $30 but the place is kind of upscale so I expected this. It is primarily a bar so it can get pretty loud. Unsafe environment. Does not know what respect means. Absolutely inappropriate. A fire pit was moved when we arrived and we were blamed for the movement of the pit. Management sent a new server over to bitch at us after we had already discussed the situation. Our entire table felt uncomfortable after spending over $300 on drinks and apps at this roof top bar. I'm extremely disappointed and will not be returning to this establishment. We came here on a game day Saturday, it wasn't packed at the time. We ordered some appetizers, chips and crab cakes... one and half hour later there was nothing, when we checked in with the bartender who placed the ordEr he said it was coming, when we checked with the server inside, they said they gave it to someone else on accident. When we asked if what they could do for us, nothing was to be said by the manager. He was very rude and would not compensate bc our bill was already paid. The ambiance is very nice and the service is as decent as any other location with college kids serving. This was our second visit and the issue I had was with the food. The first visit was great and enjoyed the food but this time the food was straight up terrible. From temperature to taste we were all extremely disappointed. The Miso nuts that are supposed to be crunchy and spicy were soft and damp and had almost no flavor. The smoked wings were completely flavorless and really fatty and chewy. The pork Belly was cold, wet and had a very odd after taste that would not go away. The flat bread pizzas also had a very strange taste as did the sausage on the flat bread pizza. It is a shame because the other time we ate at the roof we had many of the same things and enjoyed. Other people around us also said the food was really bad. I've been here a few times at night when the dj is fired up and the crowd is in full effect. Great drinks, great music, very positive environment for everybody dancing. The first time I was there, I wanted to go look over the edge before we left as I hadn't been that far from the dance floor. It was closing time and when I started to walk over, one of the guys working there told me it was closed and we had to leave and I said sorry, I was just going to look at the view and he said no problem and let me go enjoy the view for a moment and smiled and waved as I left. I really hope that place does an internal review to help prevent this from happening anyone else. Absolutely loved this place!!! Of course it had to be spring break so I imagine that is why it was quiet. In addition it was late for but too early for a standard evening crowd. As it was, the burger tasted outstanding as did the signature cocktail (Greyhound something) that I imbibed. The views outside was outstanding and since it was at my hotel, I'm sincerely loving the evening. Eager to come down and enjoy The Roof again. Totally customer focused staff (bartender/ management).
