So I hired Jeff to come out to see what happened & give me a quote to get a new chimney and/or repair the old one. To my surprise after Jeff thoroughly inspected everything, told me that it was a Mk-48 torpedo that was dropped from either a P-3C Orion or Seahawk helicopter. At first he wanted $900 just to clean up the remains of the Otto II fuel from the torpedo but then said he'd give me a package deal; torpedo cleanup & put in a new chimney but said he needed $12,500 up front which I paid. Then after he never showed up for any of the appointments I find out that he's been putting in a lot of overtime putting out fires for the Dayville Fire Dept & that he was recently promoted to Fire Chief. So I guess I'm S out of luck on getting my crumbled chimney, the Mk-48 torpedo and all of the Otto II fuel off my house & property. Do not use this guy.

He told me he needed to come back for a "roll cleaning" because the creosote was too hard and that would be another $350!!!! I paid him his $250 and he left before I realized he never went on my roof to check the rest of the chimney. How can you do a half ass job and expect full payment? I was impressed by their professionalism and the price was reasonable as the height and angle of our roof was dangerous. My main problems: 1) No permit pulled and I had to use leverage from the town permit department to get this done. 2) The old smoke smell still remains. 3) They dumped whatever they were using (mostly cement with chemicals: hard smelling), behind my house, in my yard, and l had to push for someone to come and remove some of it. I'm still worried because I have a well. 4) The workers were leaving before they finished one piece of work in the basement. I caught it on time.

We originally hired a contractor from Jewett City when we soon realized we made a huge mistake, bought wrong materials, went days without showing up, the list goes on. Long story short he left one day and never returned. Thank God my neighbor said to call JFK Roofing, I spoke to Jeff and within an hour he was here looking at the job and said he would finish the job to our satisfaction. The next day his men showed up and were ready to work, professional, efficient and accurate. Every few days Jeff would stop by and check to make sure things were going well.
