Side note: Through ignorance, I was burning some wood that created a lot of creosote in my wood boiler and chimney. They explained, in detail, the best way to avoid that in the future. Now I'm confident that I will avoid a dangerous creosote build up again. I highly recommend this company to everyone. If I could give a 0 star I would. I have been schedule to have my chimney cleaned and inspected since Oct 22nd, I have now been rescheduled 4 times, usually at the last minute. I have been reasonable each time and asked them to please commit to getting the next appointment done. They continually promised they would come to the appointment each time, and when I called to complain I was told "its not my fault - this comes from the boss". They are liars. read more

Certified Chimney Inspections hits all the high points for a business- It was a five star experience on every level. The chimney desperately needed a liner and capping. When they had to reschedule due to a New England Noreaster. they went above and beyond to get there within the same week- despite being booked for weeks out. Ruth in the office moved heaven and earth to accomodate my needs, making herself available at any hour of the day to do the logistics. Zach, although young in appearance, was wise beyond his years regarding the needs and materials of the project and was able to do the proposal on the spot. When he and Sean came back to do the work, they were respectable, very tidy while they worked and had the project done in record time- even going above and beyond with a coat of paint on the piping to make it look as good as it functioned. Both were exceedingly polite and hardworking with young families at home- that they left on their days off to get the project done on the weekend after the storm. I highly recommend this company. I've set up an appointment with them to come in and inspect/clean my fireplace. They offered a date two weeks out, which was OK with me. On the day of service no one showed up. I called the company dispatcher and he told me that due to an internal error I was not even on the list. Offered me to reschedule, but I'd have to wait another two weeks. I have nothing to say about the quality of work. This is just a scheduling/customer management situation. My expectation is that given it is their internal error, they should have tried to accommodate me as a new customer and to give me a new service day within a week. read more

Unfortunately, the customer service for this company is aweful. Online person asked if I needed help, I explained and they said give me a sec, they are just helping someone else at the moment. Turned into give me your email and number they will call you back momentarily, to take pics and details of fireplace you want i can share with them. To they are out in the field . So, after being on hold and online for over 20 minutes, its they will get back to you when? tonight, tomorrow, Monday? I first worked with Certified Chimney Inspections a few years ago when I secured their services prior to the 2018 - 2019 burning season. They assessed that the chimney didn't need cleaning at that time - services they could have certainly needlessly rendered and charged for! Bill contacted me a few weeks ago about cleaning the chimney. While arranging for their visit, I also asked if they could replace the wood stove's fire brick. Their initial visit for an estimate and eventual visit to perform the work were completed in a most professional manner. We even asked Jamie, the technician, if he was able to replace a cap for a chimney we don't use, which he completed during his visit. We also suspected damage to our roof from a Raccoon. Jamie provided photos of damaged asphalt on the roof, which we used to secure services of our roofing contractor. In my opinion, you can't do better than Certified Chimney Inspections! read more

They are withholding a $700 deposit from me after failing to show, hanging up on me, saying "you were nice when we first talked to you" (yeah, because you hadn't scammed me yet). They also refuse to show covid protocols. No way I would trust them in my home now. Scam artists, fake company. Bill, or James has figured out a way to produce fake reviews on angies list and homeadviser, and continues running his scam. First, he will tell you that he can clean up for about 179, and if not possible, no fee. That will turn into 100 bucks service charge. Then he will show you double sided liner, but when the team shows up to install, they will show up with the cheap stuff. That will be another 100. read more

Worst contractor I've ever experienced and I have built or done major renovations in 3 homes and been the general contractor for most. They installed my own metal bestos as a chimney for my wood stove. Two of their lead technicians both absolutely refused to have any discussions with me about where to put the pipes or the wood stove relative to the wood stud wall behind it. The first would start talking over me when I tried and finally all I was able to get from him was a promise he'd install the chimney to meet national fire codes -- NOT EVEN CLOSE. He put single wall chimney within 7 " and less of my wood stud wall (code is 18")!! My wood stove is SUPER HOT so they didn't seem to care if my house would burn down, and they only came back to fix it after I stopped payment on the final payment (I had already paid them over $2000) and after calling me many names, threatening me, lying to and about me and refusing to listen when they asked me a question -- it was only after I threatened to made a fire code complain to Mass authorities that the owner of the company (who lied to me at the time pretending he was not the owner) called me and arranged to have them fix it. FYI, they had also left a gaping hole in my upstairs bedroom ceiling and taken back the collar that was supposed to go their to "get our money back" even though its cost had been included in my bid and they left a bunch of sawdust and other combustibles sitting in a cavity next to a hot stove pipe. When they came back the lead technician refused to work most of the time and sat in the van forcing me to work with his assistant to take apart, clean out all the combustibles they had left sitting in a cavity next to a burning hot pipe, and put back the pipes, insulate the open cavity etc.. (I had other important things to do). The lead technician also did other stupid things that would have taken them hours more to undo or correctly do but for my watching him (despite my being ordered not to be in the room or observe what he did, by the owner of the company who was still pretending to be someone else). To set the final straw of insanity, the lead technician REFUSED to leave my house or the premised AFTER I paid him in full and he was waving the check around and demanding I sign a document saying that I was fully satisfied with their work. Threatening to call the police as though we live under Sharia law in the US where anything a man wants a woman to do, no matter how illegal his demand, is criminal behavior if a woman won't do it and insisting he had every right to stay inside my house and on my property until I signed it!!! Thank Goodness my super nice carpenter was here and was able to usher him out the front door, although they still refused to leave my property for about 1/2 hour!!! Until almost midnight last night I was still receiving threats and lies about the law from the now, obvious, owner who threatened a defamation law suit if I told anyone about my experiences and was still threatening to fine me $500 and put me in jail and calling me a criminal for stopping payment on my earlier check. However, I have pictures of their illegal installation and witness to his lead installers crazy behavior. Needless to say I would not recommend hiring this company who seems to excel in threatening and abusing and refusing to be civil to their own customers. read more

The third time, I requested that they maintain the original appointment, but they said that they didn't have anyone available. So why did they make the appointment? Unprofessional. My wife took a day off work to meet the inspector for our 9-11 appointment. At 11:15 I got a call at work from Bill saying their truck had issues and they wouldn't make it today. I get it. Things happen. Not notifying someone until after their appointment ended though, that's not great. I asked if there was any discount since my wife lost an entire day of pay to their car issues. They refused. I asked if there would have been a cancellation fee if I had been the one to pull out at the last second, thinking maybe we could at least get a discount of that amount. Horrible Company! I tried to hire this company twice. The first time, I made an appointment for between 2-4 pm, which I had to stay home from work for. They called to confirm the appointment the day before. They called me at 4:30 pm AFTER my slot and said they couldnt come. So I wasted the day at home waiting for them. They apologized, i decided to give them one more chance. I took a morning appointment, again booking the day off work, again confirming the night before. AGAIN they called the day of the appointment and said they could not come, were not in my area. HORRIBLE customer service HORRIBLE booking and have no regard for their customers at all. Scheduling the initial appointment was a breeze. However things went down hill on the day of the appointment. 20 minutes before the scheduled appointment time they called to cancel. Then offered a reschedule time 3 weeks from now. While I understand things happen and rescheduling takes place. But it wasn't convenient for them to reschedule before that because they weren't going to be in my area. Gentlemen then claims I was taking it personal, I took time away from my schedule for the appointment that he cancels with 20 minutes notice and doesn't even apologize.
