    Vegan caramel bar

OH MY GODDNESS! This is some of the best food I have had in a long time. I ordered the chicken risotto *without sausage* and it was so delicious! The chicken was a leg quarter and the skin on the chicken was crisp to perfection. I also ordered the caramel vegan bar and I nearly wanted to lick the freaking plate ! So yummy, both are specials and not regular menu items. The setting inside the restaurant was very very very cozy.

Rack of ribs, delicious and tender!

I happened upon this pub after my trip to Windsor Castle. Unfortunately most places around there are just the same old regular chain restaurants you can find in London as well. This was the first non-franchise place I found, so I gave it a try before hopping on a train. It was incredibly empty, probably due to it being a rainy off-season day. They also have a small restaurant in the back of the pub, but I decided to go for pub fare. Prices are pretty standard pub prices, the bar staff was a bit bored and distracted, but I can't blame her, I was the only customer for most of my stay there. I had the spare ribs and they were great, very juicy and tender. Unfortunately the bbq sauce they were smothered in was rather bland and not very exciting. Still, it wasn't a bad meal! And the pub itself is quite pretty with a wood burning fireplace and traditional decor.

Most putrid food I've ever been served. I've posted a picture of my tuna melt, and yes, it tasted as plastic as it looks. And the barman had obviously been given some stick before about the cost of the drinks: when I ordered a pint of orange juice and lemonade, he asked me if I was sure, given that it cost £3.20.

So happy we stopped at The Royal Oak!!!! Reopened just 10 days ago, the Royal Oak provides delicious craft pints and the BEST pies on the planet. If you're in Windsor or making a trip to Windsor Castle, I highly recommend stopping here! Oh, and there are great views of the castle from the back patio!

Pub Food. Nothing spectacular. The deal here is, you find a table get some of your mates to hold said table. Order your food and drinks at the bar then give your table number while ordering and they will bring food to your table. This is a very good place to go for groups, you don't have to worry about splitting the bill up at the end of the meal.

When we arrived, we were sat on the patio, but not near the views despite being the only ones out there. We quickly ordered drinks, and then food not long after. From the time we were sat, to when our food finally came out, it had been over an hour. I know we had a larger group, but the waitress never came back to check on our drink or offer any insight on the wait. We had to seek it out ourselves. We were also being tormented by wasps, one of which we caught in a cup to stop it from bothering us. We saw people seated after us get their food before us. We even saw a couple sit down, wait for ages for service, and leave before ever ordering drinks. Once the food finally came, it was bland. My fish and chips were flavorless. Others at the table complained of food being either boiling hot or lukewarm. The little chocolate mint they bring you with the check was the best part. Someone in our group asked for an extra mint on the way out and they initially told her no. Overall, terrible experience. Made us late to the next thing on our itinerary and we didn't even enjoy the food.

A local saw us roaming the streets with their heads down in our phone, searching for places to eat. He was so nice and recommended a few places. I actually recommend this place. He even walked us to the restaurant. That's our surprise. He used to even live in Fort Lauderdale once upon a time, but it's been he's been living in Windsor city for a few years now he seems so happy and upbeat. We arrived to the place. There was really not a lot of people there we sat down wherever we liked, and the server greeted us and took our order. I ordered the fish and chips with the Minty peas, I felt like the fish needed more seasoning in my opinion, and I wasn't a huge big fan of the minty peas. My grandmother had a balmoral chicken entree which she enjoyed. The plates were huge and filling. They played music like 90s rock and some Bob Marley. The place was pretty chill with locals at the bar. They did had a dog in there which was cute but also not too cute when it got too close to your food so we had to tell the owner to get their dog
