Made a reservation more than a month ago for our dog to be kenneled without being part of the general population and we told it was set. Reservation was refused today because dog was too scared. Said not enough staff to care for him and keep him out of the general population which had been originally agreed to. Vacation starts in one day and we are now scrambling to find care or will need to cancel vacation. Do not trust what you are told here. We were told one thing and now we are finding out that was completely false. If I could give 0 stars I would. Do not trust this business! read more

Pros: They verify vaccines prior to first visit; it was a hassle but I'm glad to know all dogs go through the same. They had no problem dying my dogs Mohawk multiple colors. The groomer was polite and professional and clearly knew her stuff. Muttface came home clean, happy, and looking great! Cons: Everyone on the floor seemed to be in training so it was slow. Little bit pricey. Overall I'm happy, they did a really good job. *Updated: Found an ear knick when I got home. It is really tiny, and it was treated with liquid band-aid or something similar. Doggy is not hurting or sensitive in any way; overall it is tiny and a non-issue as far as my furry love is concerned. But it was not addressed; I found it much later that day, rather than being told at the site what happened. Rating dropped from 4 stars to three as a result. Still an" A-OK" rating and we will return but... please let customers know when anything happens with their furry loves, no matter how small. It's important to us. **Second Update: Melissa, the groomer, called me and apologized profusely, remarked that there was a lot going on when I checked out and the knick slipped her mind, promised to let me know if anything like that happens again. I don't know what to really rate this place. I like the concept, but the employees in Neenah are not friendly or nice at all. One person in particular comes across as fake and unpleasant. My dog seems to like it there (probably b/c he likes the dogs, not the people). Not happy with their prices. I have called around and there is another place in Neenah were the employee is very very nice and the prices are half the price that this place charges. Now, that I have found another place I will not be going back to this place. I wouldn't even mind paying double the price for doggy daycare, if the people were pleasant and they didn't have a couple of bizarre rules. Don't waste your money. UPDATE!!!!!!! Actually, no stars. We have used this business for several years with great satisfaction. However, this August, our 2 year old dog (small breed) suffered a devastating injury which resulted in euthanasia. An injury that could have been prevented with proper, adequate supervision and appropriate matching of dog sizes in play groups. We have yet to hear an apology. We boarded our large breed dog here for the weekend. The staff were friendly, energetic, and helpful. We added on the ice cream treat (which I'm sure our pup enjoyed) and a bath (which I'm sure he enjoyed less but we appreciated). The pricing is reasonable, the pup seemed to enjoy his time there playing with the other dogs, the place smelled clean, and the staff gave us a review of our pups stay, which made us feel like they were attentive and cared. We brought our husky pup to stay at the Ruff House this past weekend and we are so unbelievably upset after picking him up. We brought him home and he was unbelievably exhausted and at first we thought it was because of a fun, playful weekend, until we looked at his paws. All four of his paws were cut, torn, and bleeding. His nails are worn almost to the quick. He can barely stand up. We received one report card on how he was doing even though he was there for 2 1/2 days (we expected 1 a day) and in that report we were told he was having a great time, playing a ton, and because he was "having so much fun" his paws were "a little sore, but they would keep an eye on him". That's all we had heard. Nobody told us that he was bleeding or injured or in fact, limping and unable to even stand. This has never happened the entire time we've had him. We understand sore paws and exhaustion after daycare, but the fact that nobody told us the severity of the injury at any point is so upsetting considering how much pain our pup is in. Additionally, we were under the impression he would be spending much of his time playing in grass, when we could see from the photos they sent us and the condition of his paws that he likely never did, and seems to have spent the majority of the stay playing on asphalt, concrete and rubber. He is an unbelievably friendly dog and we were never notified that he would not be out on the grass where his paws would be more comfortable, especially since he is a husky and has sensitive paws. We are aware that this is a common injury but we will never go back to this place for the sole fact that they were not upfront about his condition. If they had told us at any point he was hurt we would have came early to pick him up. We wanted a fun weekend for him to play with other dogs and instead he is exhausted, acting completely out of character, and in so much pain. read more

We had our dog in last week, and apparently there were issues with his behavior. The other dog, to which absolutely no blame was put on, I was told was not neutered. This is completely and utterly unfair and poor business practice to let another dog not be neutered simply because they pay a "premium price" at this establishment. To make other people sign a contract and follow the rules and have others simply pay extra is ridiculous. Our dog was put in isolation for two days, and no one called to tell us there was a problem. I was devastated to hear how he was treated. They labeled him as a vicious dog and told me that I should be careful. Are you kidding me? As I picked my dog up, he wouldn't come to me, he was very submissive and not himself until many hours later. We have had our dog for two months and have not once had an issue with him. I don't understand what happened, but I do think the situation was handled poorly. This place is horrible. I implore you to not leave your dog here. read more

Disappointed in Ruff House. They cancelled our grooming appointment very last minute with no real customer service. When canceling on customers who have waited for their appointment the least that you could do is apologize and attempt to act like you care. As a customer who has been there before this was shocking and disappointing and we won't be back. Staff are unfriendly and act like you owe them something. I have recommended this place many times but will not again. Time for a more customer service orientated and friendly place! read more

I have gone to many local dog daycares with my dog and this one stands out for a few reasons. First, my dog does not get hurt at this daycare. At another local daycare he had gotten hurt numerous times (scratches and gashes) and no one brought it to my attention; I only noticed when I got home. The fact that no one explained to me what happened really turned me off to taking my dog back. Second, The Ruff House provide great service and I don't have to wait for them to bring my dog back when I walk in. My dog is high energy and very excited to be there when I drop him off and the workers are sure to let him into their play area right away. The workers at the Ruff House have always been friendly and accommodating. At another local daycare, I have been made to wait as their workers finish up sales calls or talking at length with other customers while my dog is jumping all over the place which doesn't make me a happy customer at all. Lastly, I am excited about their pricing for overnight boarding; it now includes the all day playtime in the price. The only improvement I could suggest is a rewards program for loyalty or different pay rates for extended boarding. read more

I bring my dog here once a week during the winter months so he can get some exercise and socialization. He's been going there since the Ruff House first opened. Prior to that he went to two other daycare facilities. In my opinion this is the best of the three. The staff allowed me to check out the facility during his temperament test. I've never had any problems or issues with the Ruff House or its staff. They even stayed open a bit late for me one night when I needed them to. Just wish they had a doggycam. read more

Great facility that offers everything I need: daycare, overnight boarding, and grooming. I appreciate that they are usually available even on short notice. My dogs come home tired from daycare - that's the point, right? I have two Australian Shepherds, very high energy dogs, and some places just don't give them the attention and excercise they need. I can count on the Ruff House to wear them out. The Ruff House also takes safety very seriously, and I appreciate this. We visit a lot, and I have no complaints about the safety of my dogs. I also appreciate that they are diligent in monitoring all dogs' vaccination records. The only reason I can't give them 5 stars is that, for longer stays, with two dogs, their prices get to be a little high. For short stays (1-3 days) I'll pay the extra for the convenient location and the fact that they come home clean and relatively non-stinky. read more

The staff at ruff hose has always been very nice. I have boarded both my dogs there For a week and they came back to happy and healthy. I get my small dog groomed there often and he always happy to comes back, which tells me they treat him well when he is there . And he always looks great too! My dogs have been visiting the Ruff House pretty much weekly for somewhere around 7 years. I trust them with my animals implicitly - and my dogs are my children. I don't do human kids, my maternal instinct is canine. It's a great place to socialize your dog, and they run, and play, and come home TIRED. My husband and I both work full time and it's nice to know that once or twice a week our dogs don't have to be crated all day. The staff at the Ruff House does have your dog's best interest at heart. I only used Tailwaggers once, a long time ago, and when I went to pick up my dog, he was in a crate. That will never happen at the Ruff House! Dogs are in a fully supervised play area at all times. Do not take your dog here. We recently opted to use their service as our regular border was out of business. Upon arriving they took my dog and didn't even let me say good bye to him. He is a loved one, he is part of our family. As I walked to see where he was I was told I couldn't go back to see him. Very cold I thought, Wasn't treated very friendly. After I picked him up I was told he was no longer welcome there. I couldn't understand why. He came home with behavioral changes and I started reading reviews. WHAT HAVE I DONE??? I only wish I would have researched this earlier. I will never go back or even recommend this place to anyone. He was definitely abused by them. Let me also note he came home with all of his food. They didn't even feed him. My dog is changed and is not the same. He is growling at people now and he never used to do that. Someone there abused him. read more

Excellent, excellent place to have my dogs groomed - 2 black Scottie Terriers. Like a great hair stylist, their groomer Chad is given little input from me on how they need to be groomed...the texture of their hair is very different, the hot/cold weather, their personalities, etc. Chad's manner is always professional, friendly and "encouraging", since they both would rather smell like they just came in from rolling around in the backyard. They are excited when dropped off and always come home happy. Scottie Terriers "can be" (are) stubborn, so if they come home happy that tells me a lot about how they were treated. Cost is competitive. Always tip great service!!! read more

I can't speak for the other reviewers, but we have had nothing but great experiences at The Ruff House. Staff is extremely knowledgeable, they are friendly, they are well educated on proper nutrition and care of dogs. Overnight stays are a bit pricey but for me, it's worth it to have knowledgeable and friendly staff taking care of our dog. The dogs have a large indoor and outdoor area to play in, they are always monitored by an experienced dog handler, the large dogs have their area and small dogs have their area. The staff are open and honest when I have questions and they clearly make the dogs a priority whether it's regarding their entertainment, nutrition or health. They do a lot of fun things like ice cream treats, turkey dinners for Thanksgiving, costume contests for Halloween and more. They keep their facebook page updated with pictures and funny captions. We cannot say the word "daycare" in our house without our dog going crazy! Our dog will drool, prance, do a high pitched almost squeal and get extremely excited when we tell her she's going to daycare. I can't imagine she would act that way if she didn't love it. There have been a couple of times where, because dogs will be dogs and my dog is particularly energetic, where she comes home with a scratch or two but I will say that I am promptly notified by the Ruff House at pick up--they will tell me details of what happened, how it happened and what they did to make sure our dog was OK. If you are reading other posts, which I am sorry to hear if they truly did happened, and you have questions, I would encourage you to ask the Ruff House about them and they will be honest in telling you as much as they can about a situation--there are two sides to every story. We love the Ruff House, our dog loves the Ruff House and my kids love the Ruff House! It's truly been a family place for us to go to and a well trusted daycare to send our dog to. We have had to board our dog since March and after 2 months, there is not enough wonderful praises I could say about this kennel or the staff. They are professional and extremely loving and caring individuals. The needs of the animals in their care, both the mental and physical, is a top priority and they go out of their way to insure they get excellent care and LOVE, What a blessing it is to have found The Ruff House. read more

I had to leave my dog for an extended stay, 10 days. They expected me to bag up every meal for him separately. Fine. As long as my dog is okay and happy. I brought him treats and even counted them out so he'd have so many every day. When I picked him up she told me he had to have some down time because he developed sores on his feet. My very high energy dog came out and barely wanted to see me. He just wanted out of there. He came home and stayed on his bed, uninterested in anything. If he was locked up more than usual, why was he so tired? I really think they may have drugged him as he was not himself at all. They never gave him his treats. Not one. Those were to make him feel more comfortable and know he's coming home soon. I don't think they even gave him his one toy they allowed. The woman at the desk was down right nasty. Never again. And I will spread the word. Please don't bring your dogs here, for their sake. read more
