Today I brought my mom in so we could get that "good for nothing cat" of her's checked out and get a refill of her STEROIDS! It was a very fun, and memorable trip. The most important part about it is that CATS and DOGS are not so worried about HIPAA laws and violations so I could make a memory about it with my video camera. I have been going here for a couple years. I got my cat neutered here and the price was a little pricey but the convince is worth it. I started bringing my two cats here for their yearly check ups. They have always been honest and up front about concerns or issues they might be having. One of my cats had a tooth removed due to a cavity. They were very accurate in their estimated cost it was expensive but my cat had no issues post surgery. When I had to call back for my pet insurance they had no issues with locating documents and returning them to me In a timely manner. read more

We had been going to Appanasha for over 8 years since we got our dogs even though their prices kept rising. This weekend after an emergency visit with an animal hospital we were told to get in with our vet as early as we could Monday. After calling Appanasha we were told they could not get him in even though he was crying in pain and paralyzed from the middle of his back. I sit here writing a review that I really don't want to write but I know that good healthy criticism is okay sometimes for a business. My kitties were going here for a year. When I rescued them they went in each with lung problems (they were abandoned in a barn). Delilah my littlest had the worst case out of both of them, she had an ear and eye infection on top of the lung problem. They took some oral meds that knocked out the sneezing and boogies. You guys did great on that! However, during this year of meds, I was also treating my Delilah for the right ear and eye. I don't know if you remember her.. I went to every check up with the thought that I was failing my cat. I called one day asking for a possible procedure method of getting out her access fluids and crust in her ear, "maybe a vacuum or deep cleaning?",*Receptionist- -put on hold-, receptionist "The vet told me what we gave you should've worked."... I was waiting for "buuuuttt let's try this or that!" Nope. I was heart broken. I went to each appointment seeing the same small otoscope looking at the exterior part of her ear for a whole year and I cleaned her ear every single day til it was turning pink and she grew scared of me holding anything near her for she thought I was there to yet again "clean her ear". I went to my new vet who had listened to me on the phone when the appointment was set. Asking if they have a way to see what's happening to her ear. They had one of those snake cameras in the room as we walked in ready to go. We checked the good ear first and you could see her eardrum, we checked the right ear and it was so swollen you couldn't even see her eardrum. (Three days before app. I was asked to stop the cleaning and meds you guys gave so they could have a new perspective). I did what they said after they did a procedure and took those cysts out. Her ear wasn't JUST rods bacteria like you guys were telling me. Her cysts had E. coli and staph in them.. please. For the people who are still loyal to you, listen to them no matter how low staffed you are. Please be patient with the owners and their questions. Please ask more questions. Please take your time with each pet like as if they were your own. I was patient with you? First appointment with you guys Delilah threw up due to nerves while we waited in the car to be let in. I asked for a paper towel to scoop it out since it was a temporary clean til we got home. One of your assistants said she'd be happy to rinse it and I asked again for a paper towel but she insisted! I thought it was a kind gesture so I went with it.. I was looking at my bill and noticed you guys charged for the "kennel cleaning" I didn't even want. That was day one with you guys. And I still stayed.. I wish I could've turned around then if I had known the year of torture Delilah was going to face. She's a healthy and happy kitty now. I do not recommend Appanasha pet clinic. The constant delays and breakdowns in the lines of communication between the staff and patients coupled with the price gouging tactics used in all levels of care pushed me to another vet. I'm sure they are fine technically, but the team lacks empathy and basic communication skills necessary to provide transparency in their process and accountability to the work they do. Non negotiable quotes based on name brand drug prices (wonder what their upcharge is..) unwanted services tacked on, and changing rationale behind the quote depending on who you talk to highlight the business malpractice going on behind the scenes. At no point during my visit with the vet for general examination did I feel put at ease or that the vet was invested in tending to our interests. Rather, I felt I had to manage a cold, judgemental vet who seemed more keen on extracting as much $$ from me as possible. read more

Amazing experience! The receptionist ladies are extremely nice and helpful, the nurses and doctors were very friendly and knowledgeable. We had both our cats spayed and the process had been swift and amazing for our furry babies. I have nothing bad to say about this clinic! We will continue to come here! read more

I'm only giving this clinic one star because Dr. Leder was amazing with my cat in his last few days. After receiving great care with my cat I actually switched over to this clinic with my dog. I made it about one year before finding a different, much better clinic. My dog is elderly and they are not at all interested in working with an elderly dog. My last experience with this clinic was when I called to discuss treatment options for arthritis. The tech called me back to discuss euthanasia. When I said that wasn't why I'm calling as we are not at that point. She repeated herself over and over about how I should euthanize my dog while he's still having good days instead of waiting for bad days. I said no. I obviously wasn't getting anywhere with this tech so I made an appt to go back instead. When I arrived for the appt the vet walked in and instead of saying hello, the first words out of her mouth were "You didn't need to make an appt for this" I was in shock, didn't know what to say. I repeated what the tech told me on the phone and explained the situation. She did not care at all. She said the tech said she never brought up euthanasia at all and had to cut me off because I brought it up which I never once did. The blatant dishonesty of this tech bothered me so much I lost all trust in the clinic. Later I was reading the records I had emailed to the new clinic and noticed that the tech notated in the records that "she had to cut me off because I was "word vomiting." I can't believe the lack of professionalism when I've been nothing but patient and understanding while they were short staffed and rude. I can only hope there is an improvement in the future. The front staff has always been friendly to us but the vets and tech's definitely need to learn compassion. I'm so glad I left Appanasha. The new clinic has been beyond welcoming and it's nice to have open communication and options instead of being told that there's nothing else I can do. read more

Nasty front staff: If you don't have a phone on you, they're confused with how to handle you and your pet (it turns out you're required to come in to the clinic, even if you have another pet in the car and your first pet is there for a blood test). Additionally, apparently they can't do blood tests for more than one pet a day - I had to schedule two separate days to get the same set of tests on each dog. Sure is convenient for them, don't you think? Clearly not convenient for me - and I've never had to do separate visits with any of my other vets. I definitely do not recommend this clinic. read more

We HAD been a long time customer of Appanasha. Our cat had an infection occurring and because he hadn't been seen in 3 years, the earliest they would see him for his infection was in 4-5 weeks. They told me to go someplace else! What???? read more

Dr Jansen here at Appanasha is INCREDIBLE! If you want a Vet who cares, who ISNT pushy, and who ACTUALLY listens to you, see her. I've never been happier. Our dog has a seizure issue that we've been trying to treat for the past 4 years. Lots of vet visits and overnight Er trips. I have always felt like the vets we've seen care more about being right than they do about getting to the route of the problem. I'm in my car in the parking lot as I type this. I have full trust that we're going to get our boy the best treatment yet because of dr Jansen! read more

I absolutely cannot not say enough about how much I love Appanasha! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I've seen most most of the doctors over the years and they are all compassionate and professional. I've even had personal phone calls from the doctors days after a visit just to make sure my beloved schnauzer is doing okay (sensitive tummy). They still do that? Yup, at Appanasha they do! Wow! What an experience!! I have always been a dog owner. So I have plenty of experience with going to the vet. I must say I've never had a terrible experience, but I also have never had an exceptional experience either. Until today! Appanasha pet clinic blew me out of the water. We just moved here and needed a new vet for our doggy daughter. I called a couple places, and ended up going with this one. First of all it's beautiful inside. The front office staff was very welcoming and professional. They have a water fountain for the animals in the lobby and plenty of seating. They also have water and coffee while you wait. My Doggy saw Dr. Ohlsen. She was amazing! So friendly and patient. She sat on the ground with my dog and really got to know her. She gave her treats and loved on her as if she was her own. She spent so much time with her making sure to check everything. Last but not least, the price was so reasonable. I know how scary it is to take your pet to the vet because of cost. My 7 year old Italian Greyhound has had many a visits to Appanasha in his life. Everything from vaccinations, cuts, sprains, dental cleaning, etc. Every doctor and the rest of the staff seem to really care. They referenced me to a great animal opthomologist when my dog developed cataracts when he was 3. The new location is spectacular. There is a reason this place is always voted the top veterinarian clinic in the valley every year. read more

I just moved back to the area and I am so very relieved and pleased Appanasha and Dr. Hurlburt were recommended to me! I came in (like a storm) with my oldest cat having horrible mouth pain. Dr. Hurlburt was so wonderful and patient! His gentle demeanor and his true care for my boy made his recommendations to get him better for dental work let me have a lot of faith in a vet I had only just met. My cat is almost 15 years old and the fear of him not making it through dental with anesthesia was a real challenge but I knew Leo couldn't have been in better hands with Dr. Hurlburt and his vet technician Deanna. If you choose this pet clinic, please be very careful not to question clinic policies or procedures as these inquiries will be meet with arrogance and misunderstanding. We were shocked and felt abandoned when we received a letter stating . . . "we will no longer provide veterinary services for your pets." There are many other clinics that understand pet owners concerns and are more than willing to discuss those concerns in detail. My cat and I had a wonderful experience here and we highly recommend this clinic! The staff were all very friendly. The veterinarian was kind and reassuring. She fit us in as a same day appointment when my cat was having worrisome urinary issues, saving us a trip to the emergency clinic! She took the time to go over the care plan and instructions for medications. My kitty received the best care and it was much more affordable than the previous clinics we had been to!
