I found Above the Curve Design on Google. It was close and the hours were perfect! I met with the owner expecting her to say she wouldn't be able to help me, especially with prom season coming up. Oh but God sent me an angel, who had my dress ready that WEDNESDAY!!!!! Yes ma'am and her prices are affordable! The owner is amazing & so nice. Her quote sounded too good to be true, but I went and met with her and seen some of the other dresses that she had made. They were beautiful so and her prices were very reasonable. So, I decided to give it a shot. I must admit it sounded wayyy too good to be true. She also told us that she could make my fiancé's suit. At that very 1st visit she took our measurements. We left not knowing exactly we were going to get, even kind of nervous. But hopeful at the same time. She was very quick, and we went in for our 1st fitting. My fiancé's jacket and vest looked great, and fit him just about perfectly at the 1st fitting. I must admit I wasn't happy with my dress at all... here's where I went into freak out mode. Yani pretty much told me to trust the process. Since I had never had a custom dress made... i did not trust the process at all. When I came back for the next fitting, I can tell you that all my stress was for nothing. The dress was almost perfect. I was like... YES! This is so much better. By my last fitting the dress was perfect. Absolutely perfect! This past weekend was our wedding. I got so many complements on my dress. It fit perfectly. You can tell it was made just for me. I am very short and it didn't drag the ground at all. At the end of the night, I didn't even want to take it off. I want to wear it again. I'm said that it was just for that occasion. Someone give me some ideas on how and when I can wear this beautiful dress again. LOL

Today was the first day of my entirety of having hobby lobby as a consumer store while I was treated the way I was treated by the management name, April. I made a purchase for several items and once I made the final purchase, I looked in my receipt and it was $442 now the reason why we shop at Hobby lobby is because of the deals and a discount that they have in this godfather service and owner. But this day in particular, the manager April is at the front and she seem like she doesn't wanna help us or she has some type of agitation for our presence inside of her store. Once we came back inside of the store to ask for customer service to have a check for all items that were purchased 'Charlene' helped us at the front desk, then while helping us she was interrupted by this manager(APRIL). after being interrupted with a question on what was transpiring in line. When she realized what the issue was were once told immediately... with no time to try to have a disillusion or a proper resolve to the situation that she would have to run the cameras back ‍to check the purchases. The. it wouldn't be able to be done until tomorrow morning the following day. Now mind you, I've been doing business with Hobby lobby for the last six months and spent over $5000.... all of my receipts are attached in this email I'm sending to corporate. So I just wanna make a formal complaint on how this situation was handled and the service that was given to me at Hobby lobby by the manager (APRIL). I truly appreciate your business and I truly appreciate your services, but today was a total fail, and I am totally saddened by walking away from hobby lobby with all reserves for better services, from another company that treats their clients and consumers with more respect..     Out of sheer frustration, disappointment and disgust, I am updating my review due to recent events…read morethat have transpired. Approximately one month ago, I came to It's a Stitch to purchase a new Bernina sewing machine. I had done extensive research regarding which machines would suit my needs; I had narrowed my choices down to two models. I currently own a Bernina, although it is a basic mechanical machine that I had purchased new about 30 years ago. Even though it continues to run like a charm, I wanted a more extensive and diverse machine available to me; since I have very specific sewing habits, however, their top-of-the-line models were not even being considered. Make no mistakes: Berninas are not cheap and they are (in my eyes) a lifetime investment. I did not take my choices or my purchase lightly and without great thought. When I came, I looked at the two models I considered and practiced a few stitches on the higher-priced one. Decision made! I placed my order, charged it to my credit card (and subsequently paid for it) and was told that my brand new machine would be in the store from the warehouse in about a month. A call this week from Sarah informed me that the model I ordered is no longer available. As my heart sank, I was offered the following to "make things right": 1. Purchase the floor model, which according to Sarah had only been used "slightly" and was in great condition; price would be what I had already paid for the new machine, but I would receive a $50 store credit. I declined that offer. She suggested I call back the following day to see if something better could be worked out. 2. Or, I could purchase a much more expensive machine (double what I had already paid) with features I did not want nor did I need. Also declined. 3. A call back the following day got me an offer for the same floor model at $100 off, but it was revealed that "we can't locate the box for it" and then I recalled that when I had tested this machine, the manual could not be located either (because I had specifically asked to see it and they couldn't find it). This offer was also declined. I opted to return to the store for a full refund. No apologies were given and no farewells offered when I left. I will purchase a different model at an entirely different Bernina dealer. To suggest that a customer spend nearly $2K on a demo machine with no box and most likely no manual and have that be the best offer available when they have already PAID FOR a new machine is downright offensive. This is my final encounter with It's a Stitch. We're done.

    I would give this place five stars because the sewing machine service is outstanding absolutely…read moreoutstanding. I gave it 3 stars for the fabric selection. I remember this place when it was an actually sewing machine shop and a fabric store. now there's just a bunch of pre-cuts on the wall and it's not a fabric stor. Buy your machine there because the service phenomenal the repair services phenomenal. just go somewhere else for classes and go somewhere else for your fabric it's just not a fabric store anymore. Things change in business , so i am sure there must have been a good reason for the change, it just wasnt a good change for quilters. You will not find a better shop in Houston to buy a Bernina sewing machine, they know their machines and their service department also knows their machines.
