I had the pleasure of taking a few different classes here and even checked out their Mills 58 location. I'm super grateful for connecting with Nikki, Kelli, and Mona. All beautiful Goddesses! The Zen Buddha with Mona was lovely. I definitely recommend taking a class at either one of their locations. The vibes are everything! We even got a tarot card at the end with a massage of essential oils at the Salem spot. They have super cute merch too!! When I come back to the east coast, I will def take more classes. I was dying to try yoga, but I was nervous I wouldn't like it compared to my usual high intensity, fast paced workouts I usually do, so I kept putting it off. I finally pushed myself to just do it, and I'm SO happy that I did! The studio is absolutely beautiful and clean. It's hard to feel anything but peace when you walk in the door. I had the pleasure of having Toni as my instructor. She's extremely talented at what she does, and makes the class very easy to follow. The Salty Buddha is this little warm slice of yoga heaven in downtown Salem. It was a little hard for me to find my first time -- it's in the "Hawthorne Building" (not to be confused with the Hawthorne Hotel across town). It's the building with Bank of America on one end and Starbucks on the other (Walgreens is on the back side). It has a large parking lot with metered and 4-hr spots available. You enter through the main door in the very middle of the building, next door to Beijing Herbal Foot spa. Stairs are on the left, elevator on the right. On the second floor, it's an adorable little one-room boho chic zen escape, perfectly warmed and big enough for plenty of yogis to have a comfortable practice. Toni and Jacqueline are amazing... truly yin and yang! But they both are SO welcoming and have made the Salty Buddha feel really well-established even though it's pretty new. You can book everything online -- the MindBody app is a dream -- and I have yet to have any issues with the logistics of signing up/attending a class. Classes are at great times; I especially like the later evening ones because I work in Boston and getting to a 5:30pm just isn't a reality for me most days. Having an 7pm some nights, and an 8pm option is perfect! They are running a new student deal for $25 for two weeks, which is literally impossible to beat, so if you like yoga/haven't done it before/need to up your flexibility or fitness or self care -- come down and check it out! You will LOVE it! read more

Stopped by while in town for a Zen Budha class and it may have been one of the best restorative classes of my life. The flow and pose sequence were spot on, but best of all Allie (sorry for spelling!) really made the practice feel like a refreshing start to a beautiful Saturday. Yoga naps for the win! read more

Wow. I had been waiting years for a yoga studio to come to downtown Salem. I couldn't be happier that it was The Salty Buddha. I met Jacqueline and Toni while they were doing free yoga classes on the Derby Wharf before TSB officially opened. Now that it has, I am so happy! Yoga can be kind of intimidating, but the women that run TSB are so welcoming and have created a truly wonderful space. They are also fantastic instructors! Definitely visit TSB. read more

Amazing space downtown! I've been going to The Salty Buddha for weeks now and I am impressed every time. They have an awesome staff who run unbelievable classes. Even when the classes are large, they are able to pay attention to every student and make everyone feel welcome. I also had a chance to meet the owners who are great and you can tell spent a lot of thoughtful time designing their space down to every detail. The cutest little yoga studio on the North Shore. Toni and Jackie are incredible instructors and make me feel so welcomed and part of the Salty Buddha family from the moment I walk through the door. The decor is fresh and trendy but instantly brings you into a state of calm to the point where you never want to leave! I recently participated in the Buti and Beauty event and I'm now counting down the days until they put Buti classes on the regular schedule. I was looking to start at a yoga studio and had called around different locations in the area. They were all pretty expensive and offering limited classes. I ended up at the Salty Buddha, and knew that I would not find another studio like it. The minute you walk in, you feel totally transform. The people, the atmosphere and all the beautiful plants makes you feel right where you need to be in that moment. Now with social distancing, they have really been accommodating in offering a variety of different classes at different times. And if those times don't work for you, they offer on demand classes as well. Definitely worth looking into. read more

I can't say enough good things about this studio and the people that work here. I was easing myself into yoga when I stumbled on this gem and quickly became hooked. All the teachers give care and attention to every single student in their class, allowing you to move at your own skill level and grow at your own pace. The staff does an amazing job at making you feel apart of the salty fam the second you walk through those doors and into the cozy studio. The workshops are all fun and informative and do a great job incorporating other local businesses. A year later, I'm a member and still absolutely love it. Cute studio. Convenient location to downtown. Friendly staff. Only drawback is if you yearn for traditional practice: vinyasa, yin, restorative, etc. All classes feel like they are a bit "branded" for the studio and traditional sequences are not practiced. For example Zen Buddha was nothing like what I had hoped for. I was yearning for bolsters and blocks with long, soothing holds. The class was more of a soft flow. read more

Tried this studio when I heard about the grand opening and so happy I did! The studio is so cute and the instructors are amazing. I've tried Toni & Jackies classes, both were great! I also love their Saturday events, they are fun, inspiring, interesting and a healthy way to spend the day. This studio is a new hidden gem and I will continue to attend! I wish there were more stars to rate this studio. I took a class from Jacqueline while visiting Salem and it was wonderful. Jacqueline is so sweet but most of all she is an amazing instructor. She makes you feel so welcomed and comfortable. Whether you do yoga regularly or it's your first time, you will love this class. The studio is so cute and clean. I wasn't huge into yoga but I decided to start taking classes at TSB a few times a week. Very nicely designed clean studio to go along with friendly instructors who make beginners feel comfortable. Love love love this space! Wonderful yoga classes! This studio offers a variety of yoga types and teaching styles. The instructors always inspire students to really connect with their practice, rather than moving through the same asanas they are always spicing it up!! My favorite class is Luna Buddha.
