But the average item is very affordable. Dresses for $7.99-9.99, skirts for $5.99. Check what color tag is on sale. I got a skirt for $1.79 recently! The staff is nice. The store is pretty clean. The dressing rooms gross me out, because the walls look like people wipe their boogers on it and it never gets wiped down. But other than that, a great store for treasure hunting.

The merchandise is displayed with care--you won't have to bring work gloves to prevent tetanus while thrifting here, and the prices reflect that. Prices are reasonable and I felt good supporting a non-profit. The staff is all volunteer and the woman at check out was friendly and happy to chat about the organization. I had a closet that needed to be purged desperately and Saint's Place has a community in need of gently used women's clothes. When my friend told me that they'll use my old clothes right away, I was sold. It was a match made in philanthropic heaven, so to speak. Saint's Place is located in Pittsford, adjacent to the St. Louis Church. Their goal is to aid and assist newly arrived refugees by giving them clothes, housewares, tutorial services, and by setting them up in new apartments. Lots of families rely on Saint's Place to get set up upon arriving in Rochester. What I really liked the most is that the refugees pick out clothes and leave with them that same day. Here's how it works: you can just leave your donations on the back porch and grab a receipt if you itemize. Make sure you keep everything together in a plastic bag to protect from the elements! For those of you who love a good garage sale, Saint's Place has an annual super sale. This is noteworthy because it's the one time of the year when they accept donations of non-children's books. Saint's Place normally only takes children's books because the refugees are only now learning to speak English. Clothing donations should be of the casual variety, maybe a little business casual to be thrown in. Pickup is available as well if you can't drop off your donations easily. Of course, volunteering is also good too! I'm glad my friend told me about Saint's Place because I know my old clothes will be put to good use here. If you need to clean out your closet, consider donating here, there are lots of families who will be glad you and I did.

My mother was verbally assaulted by an employee today. She went to the wrong parking lot when…read moretrying to donate, she was confused by the cones and signage so she thought she'd just park and walk over with the box. Before she even got the box out of the car an older white man, red faced, screamed at the top of his lungs "you can wait in line like everybody else". She got back in the car because she was so scared by him. She reparked and went inside to tell the manager because it was so upsetting. The mam followed her inside and stood next to her leaned forward and intimidating while she politely explained what happened to the manager. Then she left without donating. She came home shaking and crying. I'm furious that this happened and want the employee fired. He was a 65ish white male, blue shirt, blue shorts, working at the donations. This man is out of hand and needs to be addressed.
