Wow, what a quirky little gem of a "local flavor" shop! We just happened by while visiting Fort…read moreWalton Beach Landing Park (across from the back side of this store on Brooks Road) and were drawn to the glowing "Open" sign and the giant Coca Cola adirondack chair. Having no idea what to expect, we rang the doorbell for entrance and waited about 30 seconds for someone to unlock the door. Once inside, it was clear that this place had been accumulating weird souvenirs, Coke collectibles, vintage objects, and other odds and ends for decades. The small store is packed from floor to ceiling with knicknacks, assorted seashells, art pieces, and traditional beach town tourist junk that folks like me want to bring home as a memento of the visit. We found out that this store is one of the oldest continuously operated, family-run small businesses in Ft. Walton and will celebrate 50 years in 2022. The friendly lady behind the counter seemed to know details about everything in the store and was very engaged with all the customers. Our visit was brief, but I picked up my 2 essential souvenirs (a koozie and a magnet) for less than $10, with a free seashell included. The people that run the Army Navy Store of Fort Walton Beach are a very focused and Christian based…read morefamily with strong values and character. They maintain a drive to Satisfy their customers. They also have discounts toward the end of some days once they have met their daily business agenda/goal. We all still need to understand that they have a business to run as well. The power bill as well as business costs do not come free. They can and will order items and have them at the store within a few business days as long as you give them notice as to what it is that you are looking for. The owner and his wife both possess a solid eye for helping the service member with any clothing need or gear that one desires to fit their need.
