But despite its small frontage, it has ample room inside housing a decent selection of used clothes and other thrift store miscellany. The weird thing about this location is that they sell "brand new" mattresses (it's even advertised outside). At first I was suspicious; but sure enough, inside at the back were a number of mattresses of various sizes, looking fresh and sealed up in plastic. The prices (couple hundred bucks apiece) helped confirm that these weren't dodgy, "refurbished" mattresses. But I'm at a loss why anyone would come here for new mattresses if they're the same as at some regular store.

Aside from the abundance of rank clothing, it also offers the usual dingy toys, early to mid 90s video games, old (likely non/mal-functioning) electronics, and the occasional bit of furniture. They also have lots of books. Really, it's like most Salvation Army Thrift Stores only thrice the stink. Finally, the staff seems mostly surly. Just no redeeming qualities to the place whatsoever... Avoid!

If you're patient and persistent, you can even find new items with tags on them. This is one of the larger VVs around which means larger selection of items as well (they have a large curtain section). At least once a month they have a big 50% off sale. If you are a Super Savers Club member, you can go the day before a sale and get the discount (go early because it gets pretty crowded later on in the day) Haven't run into any problems with the staff but I haven't needed to bother them for anything either.

To the review - this donation center is great. The staff is always so helpful and cheerful. I like dropping off items here when I need to get rid of well conditioned items. Shopping here is a hit or miss, as always with thrifting. I do find that I am more likely to find something I like here than at other locations. I think it's because I find this store a bit more spacious, so I'm more willing to spend time looking through the aisles here. The pricing here leaves me kinda iffy about wanting to shop here sometimes. They keep bringing up prices so sometimes, things aren't even a good deal anymore. It's suppose to be for non-for-profit and environmentally friendly to thrift. But here, I've definitely found over priced items, broken items still being sold, and items priced higher than the original price tags attached. Be patient, spend some time... anytime you're thrifting, you need to be willing to spend time combing through each item if you want a chance to find something great.

I agree that the store is very small and difficult to navigate. The staff watch you as you browse, and based on how they operate it's obvious there have been issues with theft in the past. I wouldn't say they are unfriendly, every time I have gone they have each greeted me and will ask me if I need help. The clearance section is a bit messy, but what is thrifting if you don't have to go digging. You do need to leave your bags (small purses are fine, they've allowed me to keep them before) on a shelf and cannot bring them into the back with you, but the store is always relatively empty and staff are close by so I've never seen that as an issue. I would not completely dismiss this store. There are some items that are quite interesting. I wouldn't say it's a favourite shop of mine, but when I'm in the area I always stop by.

They also have a back room with their clearance items + more things covered up with don't touch signs and the weird thing is they don't allow people with bags in there so you have to leave by the desk. It's weird because that's all their cheap and sale stuff, makes no sense. Owners not friendly and not really into the whole vintage t shirt culture and it's clear they are just profiting from their other store by picking out the more valuable pieces from the clothing bales.

Check out the local handmade masks for $15. In Toronto you have to wear a mask in indoor spaces now so if you need one for when you go to buy food these ones are cotton, machine washable and made by Raygun Designs. Super nice staff and I am so glad they have reopened. You know I love all things retro and this store has fantastic items for sale. Tons of character!

The clientele is middle aged women mostly and the clothes reflect that. Everything here is sorted by size instead of colour, which is precisely how all second-hand stores ought to be. The stellar organization makes it way faster to find things, and the finds are so abundant here that I always creatively interpret the six-item limit at the change rooms. Older stock will get discounted up to 70% (I think), but tags are sometimes not marked down yet, so ask and check the date on the tag to see if it might get further reduced. It's exclusively women's wear and accessories, but no shoes. While clean and orderly, the store probably hasn't seen a reno since Michael Jackson was black, but who cares? Not I.
